Can I use my mug?

I have a stay booked at Music in Feb and am on QS dining plan. Can I use my mug from Music at Sports? Or will the chip thing not recognize a "sister" resort mug?

If they still have the RFID dispensers then you will not be able to fill any type of cup with anything other than water unless it is a mug purchased at ASSpo.

They'll definitely get a new one but unfortunately it won't make it any easier to use it at a resort they're not staying at.

Is this chip thing only for All-star resorts? We had friends who stayed at WL over xmas and purchased a mug and actually used it at Contempo Cafe in CR...No flames please....

Also part of the RFID system (the chip thing) is that the mugs will only work for a limited time. So your trips would have to be within 2 weeks.

But the whole RFID system is so you can't use old mugs.

I haven't heard that the pilot program has moved any further than the All Stars.

I think the plan is that they will only work at the resort you are staying at. Also that instead of being tied to your res they would just have some set life that would cover most vacations, if you stay longer then they would do something like reactivate your mug.

I think they might not be using the chips now or not having them active. I was just at All Star Sports and I put too much soda in my mug by accident (no ice) and it slightly overflowed and I thought it was supposed to shut off after you fill the amount of the mug. There was also nothing on the screen about having to wait a certain amount of time before being able to refill.

I think what the OP is asking is during her stay at Music, can she bring the mug over to Sports and fill it there; not over 2 different vacations so no old mugs and it is all during the same trip in which she gets the mug.

If that is the case then the RFID will stop the refills at Sports but you should be able to use it at Movies with no problem. It is my understanding that the mug can be used between sister reports. We had no problems between the PO food courts using our mugs at either one when we stayed at POFQ.

The OP is NOT trying to use an OLD mug. She is staying at ASMu in Feb and would like to use the mug at the AS Sports Food court.

When I stayed at ASMu my room was closer to the Food Court at Sports, so that was the Food Court and Bus I used. I'm pretty sure all AS guests are allowed to use the facilities at any of the AS resorts.

I don't think you'll have a problem.

Oops I missed the whole sister resorts thing. I guess if you can use each other pools (you can can't you?) you can use each others drink stations.

From the very beginning of the refillable mug program, you were always able to refill the mugs at sister resorts.

That is correct because both the mugs and pools can be used by those staying at sister resorts.

but if she is staying at music and wants to use her mug at sports, i suggest checking to see if they are still doing the chip there because if so the music mug wouldnt work.

While it is within the rules to use mugs from one of the sister resorts at the food courts of the others, the fact that they rolled out RFID stations at Sports means that for the time being (if they're even still testing the chip system) that won't be the case. Mugs from ASMu and ASMo won't activate the machines.

What I would do is simply redeem the mug credits for your dining plan at Sports. That way you're covered if you do want to refill there. The mug credits will be on your KTTW same as the meal credits and don't have to be redeemed at your home resort food court.
