Long story short - I came across 3 old Magic Kingdom tickets from the 70's - I know that only Magic Kingdom was open at that time and would love to use them for my upcoming trip. Can I use them?

Thanks.

yep, they are still good. Use them for entrance to the park......not as a credit (they would be worth SO little!)

my mom had tickets from the early 80's, and they were "upgraded' to the current style of pass (bar code)

Just to add on--it will only be good for MK as that was the only park open at the time...the same woudl be true for any ticket media of any given year. Good for what was open at the time of issue.

Have fun!

These tickets are connected to a booklet - they have tickets A, C, and D. - Are you sure I can use them? The other booklet an unused Magic Key Ticket. Would I need to visit CS before going to the gates - to exchange for bar coded tickets. Thanks for your help?

We found some old Disneyland vouchers awhile ago. Ours were from the 80's, before DCA.

Athough they pointed out that it said something to the effect that they could not be used for any kind of upgrade right on them, they did go ahead and let us use the value of the passes toward an AP.
Ours had the price paid printed on them and I think that was key.

Traded in 2 adult and 2 child two day Disneyland passes and still had to come up with a chunk of change to get one AP.

Of course WDW could have a whole different policy than DL.

The gal at CS did say they might be worth more as a Disney collectible. That may be your situation as well.

DON'T trade it (or them) in (then Disney will only use the "old" value towards a new ticket)...use them however they say it its ok to use them...if it is only for an entrance to MK (and no other park), then use it that way. A one day entrance to MK today would cost you $70 and change. the old ticket will let you in with no further payment of any money...and you paid a lot less then than you would have to pay today!

Just another idea for you here - you may want to see what kind of value they might hold as a collector item and sell them. I don't really know but you may be able to get more money for them than what their equivalent value would be if you used it.

That's what I was thinking too! Here's a current ebay auction:

Another similar auction has a starting bid of $89, but has no bids yet. Interesting item!!!

Thats what my tickets look like. Is the book admission for one adult or 4 adults (one admission for each letter ticket). My book does not have all of the tickets - I only have A, C, and D. Can I still get in with only those tickets? Thanks

You do not actually have park admission; the lettered tickets allowed you on specific attractions. All that can be done with them is use their value against the purchase of a MYW ticket.

If you had a fully unused booklet that could be traded as an even echange for a one day one park base ticket. (I am not sure if it would be upgradeable.)

When these tickets were issued, you didn't have to pay for admission for the park. You just bought the tickets and used them for the rides. I am pretty sure you will not be able to use these tickets as is for admission. They will more than likely give you the value they were to use towards new admission. I would save them or ebay them.

If some of the coupons have been used, the rest of the book can only be traded up, the remaining coupons are worth something like 25 cents to 85 cents each, I don't know the formula. One coupon is called the "transportation coupon" and it was given to the monorail or ferry attendant. (You got a hand stamp if you left the park so you did not need another transportation coupon to come back the same day.)

Best bet -- save the old ticket book as a souvenir.

I have an unused 3 Day Worldpassport Day Guest 1987 ticket.
It is for WDW & EPCOT. It was $70.00 plus tax.

Do you think I should trade this and use it as a 3 day hopper or sell it on ebay?

Any advice?

Thanks

You always had to pay for admission, even back in the 70's. Each book of tickets (except for those purchased at the info booths inside the MK) came with an extra page that contained both your transportation ticket and your Magic Kingdom admission ticket. The rest of the tickets (A thru E) were for the individual rides.

Apparently the OP does not still have the admission ticket. That means that they cannot exchange what they have for a park admission straight up.

As far as their value today, here's what you're looking at if you want to apply them towards a new 2006 ticket:

A tickets = $.10 each
B tickets = $.25 each
C tickets = $.50 each
D tickets = $.75 each
E tickets = $.90 each

Their value today rests with collectors, not with using them at WDW.

PURTYPAT1, it's really your call. That ticket can be exchanged for a three day MYW hopper ticket straight up. That would put the current value around $245. But you could get more than that selling it on Ebay. Either way, it's a nice predicament to be in. :)

Hi GoldenOldie,

Thanks for the advice. I looked it up on ebay, under Disney Vintage Tickets
http://search-completed.ebay.com/di...eZ1QQsacatZQ2d1QQsaprchiZQQsaprcloZQQsbrsrtZd

The most the tickets has gone for is $93.00, so I guess I should trade it in for the $245.00 hopper pass.

Thanks for your help.

I have some of those tickets too, am keeping them :) My memory is you did pay an admission price but it was small, maybe $5-8 and then you had to buy these coupon books to get you on the rides. There were a few different ones, because once we got some through a corporate perk and they were alittle bit better. Those letters stand for the level of "excitement" of the ride, so the reason your E tickets are missing is those were the best rides, like Space Mountain. You could then buy additional tickets and of course, the E was the most popular. We always came home with a couple A tickets left over. You needed a ticket each time you rode a ride. I do believe that is where the term "E-Night" comes from.....
