Very sad about your store closing. One of ours did as well but there are others still open so we have plenty. I admit to not going there much anymore, it is so focused on preschool and younger child items it can be a little hard, there's virtually no clothing that would fit my kids and not a whole lot of adult stuff either. I do think they could do much better with a different line up of stuff, I feel like they limit themselves. Kind of sad when I find better Disney shirts for my kids at Old Navy.
You know Cynthia...you hit the nail on the head! The Disney store was great when the kiddos were small. However, at 5 and 7 years old, they were almost at the point of outgrowing much of the merchandise. While it is still disappointing that they closed, I am far more disappointed for the families with the younger children. It was my go-to spot for Christmas and birthday shopping every year for 7 years, but that was probably about to come to an end for me due to the kids' ages about now anyway.
Hi,
I had been reading your trip report but then got very behind and stopped leaving comments, but actually just finished it this evening and then spied the link to your new pre trippie!
So now I'm all back to front, I'll have to come back and start from the beginning of your pre trippie but I just wanted to say how much I loved your last trip report.
Apart from all the lovely photos of your family and Disney and even the Roots photogrpher probably the thng I enjoyed most was how honest your review was!!!
I always build my hopes up too high and am crushed when they don't match up even in some tiny insignificant way! and although I'm dealing with it and getting better I can still trhow a major strop if things don't go as the plan had decreed! but you were so good in the face of your trials and tribulations (that sounds very dramatic but I hope you know what I mean!)
And I can relate on the Disney resistant husband, my mum has took me and my sisters to Disney twice and has so far refused to countenance dad coming along, she says she wont pay thousands of pounds to listen to my dad whine about the itinerary! she knows how much my dad likes freedom and rugged outdoorsy stuff and a commando type Disney holiday which is what she loves is probably his nightmare!
A long explanation but I am looking forward to reading the new trip plans and seeing more photos of your lovely family and picking up some good advice from your experiences!![]()
So great to see you again, and thank you so much for posting!

Believe it or not, I think our next big family vacation after this year will likely be to Ireland. Chris and I have travelled there before the kids, and Chris is absolutely fanatical about anything to do with Ireland. St. Patrick's Day is a major annual event in our house!
I will have to drop you a line for some info on Northern Ireland when the time comes to plan our trip. We are fairly familiar with southern Ireland, but have never been to the north.
I am planning a last minute trip for spring break right now. I usually have all the coordinating outfits for my kids and ADR's chosen 180 days out so this is scary for me.
I am planning on some down time for my Disney Resistent husband too. having a hard time deciding on ADR's because of that though.
Wow! Good for you! Good luck on the planning front, and ADR scheduling. I need to get on that too!
