I have been following this PTR, and last night i decided I would go ahead and read your previous TR for your mother/daughter trip in 2007. Can I just say that I loved reading about all of the moments you shared? Sounds like you had a fantastic time, and (though I knew you found your camera in the end, due to the photos throughout the TR) I was holding my breath at the end..cliffhanger after cliffhanger wondering how and when your missing camera would turn up!
I would just about die if I lost my camera - first of all because the photos that my memory card holds at any given time are priceless, and second of all the monetary expense of replacing my camera & lenses would hurt my wallet! I keep having pre-trip-dreams that I arrive at WDW only to realize that I have forgotten my camera at home
Anyway, so glad that you were finally reunited with your camera, and more importantly your photos!
Thank you so much. Yes, I have to admit, the horror of losing my brand new camera on each of those trips was really one of the worst feelings in the world.

I figure after that I can't possibly lose a third....could I???
Hopefully your cameras always stay safe and sound!

Welcome!
I had the same dilemma when found out the race was at AK. I am still going to try to run though. Unless my injuries prevent me from doing so. The knees are bad enough but today I rolled my ankle and I just hope it will be back to normal in the morning.
I am sure you will have a blast doing the 5K...sounds like quite a few people are doing it too! Of course, if it turns out your injuries prevent you from running, maybe we will see you at the MK for park opening that day!
It really is too bad that they moved the 5k from the MK though.

I have run in both Epcot and AK, but never the MK. (Well...at least not in an official Disney running event. I have been known to do the "Dumbo Dash"

You know...that really fast power walk!

)
Now that they scrapped the MK for the 5k, I am hoping this means there will actually be some official events that day, or at the very least, a special park opening event.
First, I loved your latest TR and I'm looking forward to reading this PTR as well. I'm actually doing the 5K that morning on 10/1 and I didn't even consider what I'll be missing until I read your post! Unfortunately, I can't get out of it as it's a group thing, but at least now I know why it's not going through the MK. Anyway, I think you're smart not to do it. Even from a logistics standpoint with the kids, it's a smart move. Plus, since the race is at night you have to take it easy that day and it basically means losing an entire park day. Last year there were lots of people getting sick on the course because they were eating the wrong things and having fun all day!
Can't wait to hear all of your plans.
Wow! Another 5k runner! There really are a lot you, aren't there? I am sure you will have a blast, especially running with a group. I ran the Minnie 5k with a group of girlfriends a few years ago and it was a blast!
Hi Trish! I just came back to the DIS after a several-month hiatus. I stumbled upon your PTR and I'm subscribing. Can't wait to read your plans!
Hey stranger! Nice to see you back! I confess...I have been rather scarce here myself. I figure I will probably be an infrequent updater on this thread, at least until the summer months when the trip planning starts to heat up.
Hey Trish! All caught up again!
Too bad about having to miss the race, but it just wasn't going to work out...next year, right?

I wonder if/when they are going to announce anything official for the 40th. It sure seems like they are doing a LOT of sprucing up in the parks lately...makes me wonder if it's for the 40th celebration. But, so far I haven't read any rumors!
I loved the video of the 5k. It made me tear up!

I really want to do a Disney race!
Isn't that David Parfitt video great? I figure at some point we will do a family 5k Disney race...that would be so fun! And I really do want to run a Half Marathon at WDW too in the near future...just have to start running again first!
