Can I Survive another 11 days in WDW w/ Disney-Resistant Husband? *11/25 SURPRISE!!**

What an amazing experience! I'm so very jealous!,!

Amanda

I have to admit: it really exceeded all my expectations. I know how lucky I was to have attended. :goodvibes

I would have loved to have been there .... what an amazing presentation that must have been...and then a ride in the elevator too!:worship:

Queen...you would have LOVED it!!! And I *SO* wish you had been there with me in that elevator. I got off the elevator and was dying to laugh and rehash my good fortune with someone...unfortunately Carrie was fast asleep.

Wow! I have to admit to being a bit green with envy right now, what a great experience!

Wish you could have been there too, Michelle! :goodvibes It was a fantastic event!

Wow!! It all sounds so amazing. Polyester costumes of torture. :rotfl2: sounds like they really crammed a lot of content each day! Very cool Disney celeb encounter! :worship:

I would have been in seventh heaven seeing and hearing all about the early construction and the stuff that never came to fruition! I love stuff like that! What a neat way to spend the day! AND to end it by taking an elevator ride with Tony Baxter -- too cool!

Wonderful update! Thanks for letting us be part of the excitement with you! :)

Q

PS.Can we mail packages to any Disney hotel? As a Canadian, this can change the way I plan my next Disney trip!

Great update Trish! I like how my pictures look in your trippie.:goodvibes
Going to share my biggest Geek out moment of Destination D.....I think it will be ok with you.
Here I am with Richard Sherman....he was sitting there on the bench when we walked up to the get lunch at the Contempo Cafe on the 1st day.

Still can't believe I got to meet him.

:wave2:Hi Trish! I'm a little late to the party here but just saw you had this PTR going. Just wanted to post and say I'll be back later to try and catch up. Your trip is coming up so soon now!

Awesome!:woohoo: That picture belongs in a frame! How exciting for you! He is just the greatest!:worship: If you haven't seen the documentary on the Sherman brothers, I highly recommend it!

All I can say is WOW! It sounds like a fabulous, fabulous day! And then to meet a Disney Rock Star on top of it truly is the icing on the cake!

Hey Trish!

I found you! I am all caught up on your PTR. The beaver tails remind me of elephant ears. Anything with cinnamon is the best. You are so lucky to be going to WDW during the 40th anniversary! We were booked for a cruise in October, but with Brian's schedule we are now going in September. I can't wait to hear more about your plans and I am going to read your other TRs!

What an awesome experience you had!! I can only imagine how neat the resorts and attractions are that have been dreamed up. Wow!

Yes, Christine...you are right! 2 completely jam-packed days. We certainly got our money's worth and then some!;)

I know you would have loved it Jackie! I hope sometime you can make it to a D23 or Disney fan event. And yes, that completely chance encounter with Tony Baxter at the elevator was really something! :faint: And no, I didn't run up and sneak into his elevator. I was actually there first.

And believe it or not, my encounters with Disney rock stars continued the next day!;)

Wonderful update! Thanks for letting us be part of the excitement with you! :)

Thanks for your comments...glad you are enjoying the D23 updates.

As for shipping to hotels, you can indeed ship to any of the Disney hotels. However, you will pay a handling/receiving fee at any of the convention hotels, like CR, CG, BC, YC.

For that matter, I have shipped packages to my hotel on just about every trip I take to the States, most of which are non-Disney hotels. I have never had a problem anywhere.;)

Well Melanie, I think you made my D23 update a lot better with those photos, rather than just me yapping away! So thanks again!:goodvibes

Thanks so much for sharing your photo with Richard Sherman. You were a lucky one to get that photo. The next day, I heard he he was refusing to take photos or sign autographs as he was getting inundated with requests. You were so lucky to find him alone like that!;)

Hi Michelle! Welcome, and so great to see you again! :welcome:

If you haven't seen the documentary on the Sherman brothers, I highly recommend it!

Can you believe I got this DVD for Christmas, along with Waking Sleeping Beauty and El Grupo. I have only had time to see Waking Sleeping Beauty (which was awesome!) I really have to make time to watch these!

All I can say is WOW! It sounds like a fabulous, fabulous day! And then to meet a Disney Rock Star on top of it truly is the icing on the cake!

Yes...it really was pretty fabulous. At the end of the day, between hanging out with Carrie, meeting some great new friends, staying at the GF for the first time, and of course attending D23 it was such a worthwhile trip. Whirlwind, but great!:goodvibes

Hey Andrea! So glad you found me!:welcome:

Feel free to chime in or add any little bits to the story if I leave something out. ;) Getting excited for that cruise? Can't wait to hear all about it!

Say hi to Brian for me!:goodvibes

What an awesome experience you had!! I can only imagine how neat the resorts and attractions are that have been dreamed up. Wow!

It really was pretty spectacular hearing all about those never-built attractions. Most of the audience was going beserk over the Western River Expedition. However, personally I was much more intrigued with the Sleeping Beauty attraction. I would have loved to have seen that!:thumbsup2

I am hoping that I do a TR about the cruise! Brian says hi as well. I wish we could take the Canadian cruise next year so that we could stop by and say hi!

Wouldn't that be fun? I can't wait to see who ends up doing the Canadian cruises next year. I believe John and Kevin from the Podcast might be on one. Or maybe it was the cruise to "no where" that they were interested in.:rotfl:

At any rate, I will be the official Halifax welcoming party for whatever Disers make their way here!

And you should be! There is so much of Canada I want to see. I have only been to Windsor (that is what the Detroit'ers, between the age of 19-20, go to drink), Stratford and Toronto (in January). Hopefully one day we can come up for a visit!

Hi there, and Welcome!:welcome: Not to worry....you aren't late, and really haven't missed anything yet. While I have been back to WDW twice since our family trip in May 2010, our next family trip isn't for a couple of months.

In October I attended D23's Sip & Stroll event, Dave Smith's Retirement Dinner and Food & Wine with Carrie (lurkyloo) and Christine (2xcited2sleep) and then in May, once again with Carrie I attended D23's Destination D event celebrating WDW's 40th Anniversary. I still have to finish my update on that trip, which I hope to have up in the next few days....

WHEW! I went back and read and realized this was a pre trip report. I so love your reports!!! I am so glad you sneaked in some more trips!! :thumbsup2 I knew you could!! Can't wait to see you go to Hawaii!!

I was looking forward to your birthday plans were this year, I loved last years but I totally get wanting to take a break, you are seriously super mom!! :worship:

Loved the Disney D stuff!! How awesome that you went. I bet it was so interesting!!

I am going to a Disney Travel Agent Conference in November and cannot wait!!!! I know I will learn a ton and I love hearing all the history and behind the scene magic at Disney! :thumbsup2

CONGRATS to Chris. what an awesome 1/2 time!! he is SPEEDY!!! you should really considering coming down in Jan!! I am running the full, last year I ran the 1/2 and had the time of my life! I mean really, how can you not have fun running 13.1 miles in Disney!!!

Hey Trish!

I'm only page 6, but had to post before I forget. I'll be looking forward to reading your review about the Wine and Dine Half!!! And like some pp's have said...go for the Disney Princess Half! Why not! It's 7 months away!!! You can meet up with us;) And you are right...running is dedication and lots of time,... pain, but once you push over that hump, it becomes addictive.

I'll be reading more when I get home:surfweb:...off to take the kids to Bible School.
Heather
are you running the princess half or coming for Marathon weekend in Jan?? I would love a meet up!! :thumbsup2

:laughing:yes! Can't wait for 7 nights on the Fantasy! We love cruising! I will make work of doing a cruise report! I still need to scrapbook last Octobers trip!

We are going on a 7 night next year in June.. are you going in June?

:wave2: I wanted to do the one in January, but it won't work out with school. After Christmas break we go back that first week in Jan...would have to take off that Friday...not sure they would like that....so...I'm 'attempting' the Princess Half in February. DH is going with me...no kids;) DS10 said it would be boring to watch people run:laughing: I'm excited about it, but nervous too.

So you're running the actual marathon!!? Good for you! I can't even fathom that right now. I'm having a hard enough time picturing myself doing 13.1:laughing:

Happy Training:thumbsup2

oh trust me... I can't fathom running the 26.2 right now!!! :scared1::laughing: BUT, I couldn't fathom running the 13.1 this time last year and some how I did it! I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT! just focus on your training and don't think of the 13.1.. but what you are running this weekend. trust me.. its crazy, but I thought I couldn't do it.. but I slowly increased my mileage and once I hit 11 on one of my long runs I was like.. "WOW I just may be able to do this!!" ;)

NOW, let's see if I can really do the 26.2 without hurting myself... but just like last year.. baby steps.. I'm just focusing on what I have to do this weekend (5.5) which is manageable..

We (Dh and I - plus my aunt and a few friends from HS) are going sans kids too... I had such a blast last year. (DH didn't get to go - but it was still fun)... I take my kids enough that they are okay with it.. ;):thumbsup2

Good luck with your training! Are you on daily mile??? would love to follow your training and cheer you on!

Thanks for the vote of confidence! I really appreciate it. DH is behind me 100% which makes it easier. At first I thought the goal was a little far fetched, but I'll make it. I will have to check out the Daily Mile and see what it's all about. Why don't you do the Princess Half, too?! You'll already be prepared!!;) You're welcome to run with us newbies:laughing:

I don't think I could convince my hubby to let me! :rotfl2: Let's see I went down in Jan to run the 1/2.. took the boys down in June.. am going down solo in November, then going again in Jan to run the full.. don't think he'll let me go again in Feb!! :lmao: He just may commit me!!
