Can I park at Beach Club for convenience to Epcot World Showcase entrance???

Maybe you don't get the point? Too many people on these boards sit and pass judgment when they should worry more about themselves following the rules. When questions are asked on this board too often people don't get an answer but someone's moral opinion as to what should or shouldn't be allowed or done! Why not just answer the questions?



Ps. I just started my single digit dance at 6:01 am EDT..... So in less than 10 days I'll be drinking wine and trying to violate every rule I can.... Thanks to everyone for the encouragement to do so.

And don't tell me that everyone doesn't have there own ways of getting around WDW that might skirt the rules. That's what going so often gives us over those that don't! Experience! And I'm sure we'll all run a little when the rope drops.... even after being told to walk..... Have a nice day!

The problem becomes when LOTS of people break the rules. With the advent of the internet, things people wouldn't think of doing before are being billed as strategies and read and adopted by hundreds of people. A few people occationally using the BW self park lot for Illuminations would never be noticed. Enough people doing so that BWV and BWI guests can't find parking at 7:00 at night - problem that someone needs to tackle.

Does anyone remember when parking at Swan and Dolphin was free? Well, I think it was Budget Travel that published a "tip" for saving money at WDW. Yes, park at S&D. It didn't take long for the toll booths to go up.

We've stayed at BWV when the main lot was so full that even staying there we had to park across the street and do the long walk.

Granny - yes it does, he is attending a 6 hour wine tasting class at Alfredo's, now maybe I am wrong, but isn't that the Italian restaurant in Epcot?? If it isn't, then I am really confused and can anyone tell me what that restaurants name is?

I kind of hope Disney starts towing the cars that don't have a resort tag or limited parking pass .

Take them to a specisl lot and charge a large fee to get them back.

Fee will pay for towing and lot attendent.

It's great that we have so many moral people who ALWAYS do the right thing. They always obey every sign posted and never break any rules. If everyone could be more like them the world (including Disney World) would be a better place. I'm sure they always cancel all dining reservations and never let any go unused. They never smoke outside the designated smoking areas. They never use flash photography when asked not too. And most important they ALWAYS keep your hands and arms inside the vehicle until it has come to a complete stop.
Guess what? I press the little button on the back of the fast pass machine and sometimes (if they have it unlocked) I get bonus fast passes.

Yes the World would be a better place if everyone did what they are suppose to do, it is called being responsible. And just for your info, Yes to all of the above (except smoking as I don't) and see absolutely no reason why anyone else would not do the same thing.

No one on this thead judged anyone, we stated the rules as posted by Disney. They don't provide parking for park access. There are no exceptions posted on the sign.

I would never expect someone to follow rules I don't follow myself.

I took a philosophy class (love that liberal arts education) where they made us do Kantian ethical analsysis. One of the tests to see if something is ethical or not is to ask yourself "what would happen if everyone did this." If that breaks the system, a mark against it being ethical behavior (you need to weigh it against all the other ethical measures - it could break the system if everyone did it, but for some reason, your circumstances override that factor.)

Very good point. If every DVC member that visits Epcot Or MGM on any given day parks at the BW or BC then truly those that are staying there will literally have no where to park.

I don't allow the excuse, that well everyone won't do it, affect me. I read the sign, there are no exemptions, my name is not listed up there saying it's OK for me to do it, so I don't.

Never really understood why it is so hard to understand or why some feel they are above it.

Personally I think Disney should do what other resorts do. Charge nonguests of that resort to park. Most charge $10. If you shop or dine and purchase anything over the $10, you take your receipt and get your parking ticket validated. That way those that just want to hang at the resort pay for that option.

I think trying to take advantage of DVC to use a resort lot while going to the parks is what will cause Disney to take away the privelege for everybody. The resort lots are clearly that....lots for the convenience of folks using the amenities of that resort. Don't ruin it for the rest of us!

we park at boardwalk all the time, even when we are not staying there. We like to walk/shop/dine along the boardwalk and we also then use the int gateway to enter epcot. We show our DVC member card and have never been questioned. Didn't even think this might be a problem, am i wrong?

Gee, now I know why we can NEVER find a place to park our car when we stayed at the Boardwalk until 10pm when all the Epcot cars are gone from the self-parking lot. I wish they allowed only guests of the Boardwalk hotel or villas to get into the close lot for self-parking and forced the others to park in the lot across the street if they are just parking to visit the Boardwalk or Epcot. I don't care about the valet parking, but the self-parking lots need to be just guests since there's not enough space for the guests anymore.

BW is probably the worst of the DVC resorts for parking, and possibly one of the worst of the Disney resorts. Because lots of guests "excuse" their parking with "well, I'm visiting the Boardwalk." And because parking while visiting the Boardwalk is permissible - supposedly you are supposed to park across the street though. However, its at least implied if not stated that "visiting the Boardwalk" is not picking up a cinammon bun at BW Bakery on your way into Epcot for the day and stopping by Seashore Sweets as you leave after Illuminations.

I suspect the Contemporary is as bad or worse, and the Poly also bad.

Most rules at Disney are implied. There is a note that they want courteous behavior on the park maps - but it isn't a "rule." And they don't spell out what they mean. But stand in the middle of Main Street and shout obscenities and you'll have security on you faster than the cars at Test Track. There isn't a "rule" that you can't do that, but there is definately the expectation that you won't.
