Can I have the same car registered at two resorts at the same time?

Hello!

We are going down in May and renting a car. My parents will be staying at POFQ and we will be doing a split stay between AKL and SS.

The rental car will be in our name but my parents will be watching my son for a couple nights while we are down there and we are going to let them use the car for transportation on those nights if they would like (and other nights as well if they want).

Is this going to be an issue to get a parking pass for our resort and my parents for the same vehicle?

I'm not sure. They used to issue paper parking passes, but heard they don't anymore and it's on the MB? We had a rental in January for pre WDW, and returned it after check in, to Car Care Centre.
I don't recall ever having to register car license plate, so I think your parents would be fine just going to front desk and telling then they will have a car for 2 days.

Thanks! Yes I was less concerned until I read the MB will be used now... I guess it isn't the end of the world if we can't but it would make it a bit easier :flower1:

The last couple of years they've just handed me an A5 piece of paper which has our name, resort name and date of check-out on it. They can't put a registration number on if you're hiring a car because you won't know it in advance.

Even if it's on MB, it would be easy enough for them to just let desk know they will have a rental car for a couple of days.

I rented a car for a day last year - wasn't given a parking pass that I recall and I parked overnight at my resort (Saratoga Springs) with no problems.

There is no such thing as registering your car at a resort. You get parking privileges at the resort. There is no cross-reference of vehicle license plates that you will run afoul of if you park at a different resort.

So, since all parties will be registered as staying at A Disney resort (even different ones), their MagicBands will allow them entrance into ALL Disney resorts?

I doubt it would allow you through the automatic gates at resorts other than your own. Otherwise the lots at resorts like the Contemporary or Boardwalk would get very crowded by people parking and going to parks. You would probably have to go through the guard at other resorts.

Your parents will be ok telling their resort they have a rental car, but don't forget you'll have to tell the rental company about the additional driver(s). You will probably have to show their license & pay an additional driver fee.

Exactly.

You won't be able to get into the automatic arm thing at a different resort, but you just go through the guard-side of the entrance and say that you're visiting family.

Very good point. Wouldn't be found out unless they have an accident or get a ticket, then there's trouble.
