Can I get the plan without a package?

We used the DDP last year and loved it--have it booked for our August trip. Here is my question--we are thinking of upgrading our tickets in the event of a March trip--adding 5 more days to our tickets plus no expiration. This will save $100 each over getting a new 5 day ticket--$500 total. BUT can I book the DDP next March if I already have tickets, and hence do not need a package deal?

The only guests who can book the DDP without a package, at least one day base tickets, are guests staying at a DVC resort on points. You could try to rent points.

The 2008 dining plan hasn't been announced. Package plans have always required some kind of pass purchase but I guess that could change.

We have Annual Passes and are going down for free dining...We had to buy a one day ticket ($72/value - each), which we'll save for our next trip 9without AP's) to turn in and upgrade to a hopper pass. We purchased AP's this year because we were planning 2 trips within the year. Then the free dining came out and my sister wanted to take her daughter, so DD and I are going with them for a 3rd time this year.....might as get full use out of these passes

We may even get a 4th trip in over February break...DD will be turning 13 and we promised her she could pick the family vacation next year (within reason) and take a friend. Since the 4 of us have AP's it will definately cut down the cost of our next vacation.....
