I am trying to buy an annual pass before I get to Disney in March, so that I have it for check in ( i need it for AP resort rates)

Does anyone know if you can buy and activate a pass from Canada?

thanks

Hi SandraB,
Before you buy your annual pass here at the Disney store check out the price here and at the Disney store in Florida. On my last trip we needed an annual pass to get the special rate and when we priced them here and there, it was cheaper there. We bought ours at the Disney store at the airport and it is activated immediatley so it was good for check in. I honestly don't know which conversion table they use at the Disney store here but it worked out to at least $ 30 cheaper buying it there. I hope this helps. :teeth:

Definitely check it out because I remember the Cdn store conversion rate to be around $1.35 ... which was great when the US dollar cost us a lot more. We just bought our AP's at guest services at MK a couple of weeks ago. For 2 adults and 2 children, it was under $1575.00 US.

As someone else said, you can get it at the Disney store in MCO ... we couldn't because we had a town car driver waiting for us so we just did it when we got there. But didn't need it for check-in since we weren't using an AP rate. Worst case scenario, if you can't get it ahead of time, get it when you get there ... if they ask at check-in, tell them there was a snafu with the Cdn Disney store and that you're buying it right away ... and offer to bring it back and show them after you get it. They might not even remember to ask you for it, so I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

I called in December and ordered mine directly from Disney (got the rate before the increase-yippee!!) They sent the vouchers via courier (in three days). I asked them if I needed the actual AP when I check in since I have our rooms booked at the AP rate (also in March) and they said that as long as I had the vouchers at check in I could go back to the desk at anytime and show them my AP later. Hope it's true.

If you have the time, I would just buy the activated AP at MCO or at guest services in DTD. I've found that the DTD location is much faster than MCO ... at MCO I waited about 15-20 minutes to get the pass done but the CM at DTD only took 5 minutes. I prefer to get the activated passes because I'm absent minded and I figure if I'd end up forgetting to take the voucher with me.
