OK, we are seriously considering buying into this!

I don't want 150 points though, we really only need about half based on our vacation schedule.

Can I buy the 150 from Disney, then sell some off.......or would I be better of just renting out the extra I have each year?

How does the referral thing work for the 15%?

You can rent your points from time to time, but you cannot break apart your contract and sell only some of the points.

No, you cannot buy 150 and then sell part. It's a fixed sized contract, so it's either sell all or nothing.

Think of it as buying a house, then trying to sell half of it.

If you want a smaller contract, there are many available resale. You can click the DVC resales link at the top of the page.

Contracts smaller than 150 points are available resale, as they were add on-s to someone's original contract, and an add-on can be as little as 25 points. Example: Someone buys 150 points, then later adds on 50 points, giving them a total of 200. But they're two separate contracts, one for 150 and one for 50. They sell the 50 point contract so someone else purchases it as their only contract.

Ahh, so when you see odd amounts, like 92 points or 55, it is because they actually bought that many as an add on? They all came from an add on orginally bought from Disney at one time or another? Interesting!
