And, can I book, say at ASMO now, but change to CBR later if I decide I want to spend the extra $$?

Pam

I want to reserve our dates now and was wondering about amending a reservation with a code later. I was also hoping to start paying off a night of our stay each month before we go and wasn't sure if this could work with adding a code later.

Anyone?

Add code or AP later: Yes! They'll just send you a new confirmation sheet with "Modified" printed on it, but usually your confirm number won't even change. I just did this Tuesday, changing my March ressie from the 40% off code to the AP discount. (Savings was only ~ $25, but hey, that's lunch!)

Pay early / then add code: I believe what would happen is if you wound up "overpaying" vs. the new code total cost, they would give you the option of 1) refund or 2) holding the $$ in your resort account - i.e., on your room charge. In no way could they just keep the extra, though, so don't worry about that.

Upgrade resorts: Yes, and it works in the opposite direction, too. :) One caveat: I don't know if you switch resorts and your original ressie had a discount, if you would be able to apply that same discount to the new resort if it has expired. E.g., ABC discount expires 1/31/03. You book ASMu using ABC on 1/15/03. Then you get a bonus check at work, and call to switch your resort to the Contemporary on 2/5/03 - you may or may not be able to apply the ABC code to the Contemporary room. Does anyone know the official ruling on that?

Yes you can do that! My only concern is if we all do that then will disnye feel they need to offer discounts if the rooms are already booked at regular rate?? That is why Im waiting to make my ressies.

Wow...the AP discount is really great. All I have to do is convince my husband to go again next year (which won't be hard to do). If the pass itself is only approx 160.00 more than a 5 day hopper, and we get 50.00 off the one night we'll spend in a moderate (we're renting points for the beginning of our stay), then that mean we are only paying 110.00 for the equivalent of next year's hopper pass! Right there that's a savings of 100.00. AND, if we use the AP disount again next year, that's even more. I didn't realize the AP's were such a good deal. I wish I would have known years ago!!! Oh well...at least I can take advantage of it now. And, it's now one more thing I'm going to feel the need to pass on to people who are planning their Disney vacation and are clueless about discounts, etc.!!

Thanks,
Pam
