I disagree with the other posters because I believe Paul McKenna's weight loss techniques work for most people. He has a 70% success rate in helping people lose weight. I watched McKenna's five part series on losing weight on TLC last spring, and I believe his ideas work better than any diet technique I have ever tried. (And believe me, I have tried everything to lose weight, from Weight Watchers to Atkins, diet pills, and everything in between). Paul McKenna's approach is the best thing I have ever tried and it works! He doesn't believe it "dieting". He only has four "golden rules".
1. When you are hungry, eat.
2. Eat what you want (not what you think you "should".)
3. Eat consciously and enjoy every mouthful.
4. When you are full, stop eating.
Paul's technique WORKS, and it is very easy. No dieting, no counting calories, plus you can eat whatever you want. With his technique, which is just common sense that we as Americans never seemed to learn, you will learn to stop eating when you are full. He teaches a tapping technique (TFT/EFT) to help with cravings, teaches you neuro-linguistic programming, and he uses hypnosis to help program you to slow down eating and savor your food. I bought the book, but for me what was most helpful was the five part TLC special which I recorded (and saved) on my DVR. I think the book will help you lose weight, but instead of buying it, you might want to get it through an interlibrary loan to see if it works for you. Be sure and get the book that comes with the CD. It really helps to listen to the CD daily.
The first month I tried the McKenna technique, I lost nine pounds and I ate everything I wanted, including ice cream, candy bars, enchiladas, everything! It was so simple. For the first time in my life, I had total control over food. And as long as I sit at the table and eat slowly and consciously and enjoy my food, and don't eat mindlessly in front of the TV or computer, I keep the weight off. So very simple. I love Paul McKenna and highly recommend all of his products.
