Hey all! We're getting pummeled with snow in the Midwest this morning which is going to delay all but ONE person in our large party arriving at the Boardwalk today.

We're in a 2 BDRM villa and on the DDP. I know they have you pay for everyone on the DDP when you check in (and were all originally arriving at the same time) but this guy can't be stuck shelling out all the money for everybody's DDP. But, he's gonna need the credits to eat while waiting for everyone to arrive.

If he explains his situation to the front desk, do you think there's a way they can help him out? I mean, it's at least worth asking, right? They can't hit ya!

Why don't you call the front desk when he's checking in and give them your credit card over the phone? Then they can check you ALL in even though you aren't all there yet. They'll give him all of the cards and it will be easier on you when you arrive.

And if you have gift cards or cash to pay for the DDP, you can go to the front desk when you get there, have them remove the charge and change the payment right then. I've done that before. I use my card to book a room or something, but always use gift cards to pay when I get there. They just credit the card right back. I realize that you have to have the room on a card to do this (and I know that's not always possible) but if you have a card with some room they'll probably do it.

Good luck with your travels! We head down in a month and I'm having flying nightmares already.

Member Services is opening in less than 10 min, I would give them a call.

when I had trouble with my GCs not being activated (those ones from DVC last year) and that's what I was using to pay for our DDP they just left it as an amount owed on our acct and still activated the plan. We did get a couple automated calls telling us there was a balance on our acct but that wasn't a big deal. Took them a day to get it fixed and then we just took the new GC down to the front desk to pay. So I think if he explains the situation they should be able to activate the room's plan and just have a balance owed until you arrive.

Be sure, if you call the front desk, that you actually speak to someone at the front desk. Disney has a centralized call center (basically the WDW Operator) answer all the incoming calls, they simply say "SSR or OKW, depending upon which number you've dialed. The operator may not even be anywhere near WDW, depending upon call volume.

I don't know what can be done, but perhaps an option would be for you to check-in online. They could use that credit card number to pay for the DDP, and who ever checks in first could put a credit on the account for their portion of the DDP.
