Hi, I currently have a AP room only rate can I add the dining plan to that?

Thanks ;)

Is this possible during the "free dining" promo period also? Meaning if they release an AP discount again this year(as they did last year that coincided with free dining) would you be able to book a discounted room and pay for the dining plan. I relaize it wouldn't be free. When you do this is it necessary to still get that one day base ticket as which you formerly had to do if you wanted a dining package?
Hope this makes sense... Thanks.

There are a limited number of AP packages where tickets do not have to be purchased as part of the package.
And there is not such a AP package including free dining that I am aware.

No, I realize there is no free dining with the AP's. I'm just wondering now that I've read that AP holders are able to purchase the dining plan, if during the free dining promo period..that holds true also. Since there was an AP discount offered last year during this time period, only at that time it is my understanding AP holders weren't yet allowed to purchase a dining plan(paid..not free) I believe adding a dining plan to an AP reservation is a recent change. My thinking is... if the AP discounts for this Sept. time period are about the same as the ones offered now, purchasing the dining plan may be a better value than the regular so called "free dining" reservation as you are paying rack rate for the room in that case. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what they offer ..and if purchasing dining is an option during this time period. From what I saw on Mousesavers, AP discounts for that time period should be out around the end of June.

AP holders have always been allowed to purchase the dining plan, but in the past they had to purchase at least a one-day base ticket in order to get it. Because the ticket could be used toward the cost of renewing the AP it wasn't that big a deal to do it.

You'd probably have to wait until they release AP discounts to see if they would apply to an AP room/tickets package in September. Or, you could book an AP room/dining package and then change it to the discounted room when they're released, if you know you're going anyway.

Okay..I see...thank you for clarifying it for me. :) I'm new to the AP benefits(obviously). I didn't realize they could always buy the dining plan. I did know they had to purchase a one day base ticket..but didn't realize that was so they could purchase the dining plan. :scared:
I have a "free dining" reserved for last week of Sept. With only one day base tickets. Not actually sure if we will be able to go..(my older son has vacation that week, and we were hoping to possible join him). Only I wasn't aware that they had offered AP discounts for that same time period last year. Had me thinking that it might be a better option to take the AP discount(if available) and then add (and pay for) dining. Since the AP discounts seem significantly less than the rack rates. Even paying for the dining added to an AP discount might be less expensive. Also..since we have the AP why not take advantage of it's benefits.
