Can crying really hard and constantly wiping your runny nose cause swollen lips?

Maybe if you have sensitive skin. Nerve receptors and blood vessels are concentrated in the lips, which makes them sensitive to begin with.

A friend of mine is going through a rough time. She told me she's spent most of the evening crying and now her lips are swollen, mostly her upper lip (which apparently is also sore, like when you wipe your nose a lot). She was thinking that's what it was most likely from, and not an allergic reaction to anything.

Yeah, eyes get puffy, lips swell up. not a pretty sight I tell ya

Mine do. My kiddos were in a nasty car accident this past summer and all I did was cry for a while and my lips did swell up as did my eyes and nose.

I guess it depends how hard you cry and how long.
