Hi,I was just wondering what was going on in Orlando around the 3rd,4th and 5th of April? Hotel prices are really high and lots of hotels don't have availability.
Does anybody know why? Is that spring vacation or something?
Thanks,
Debbie

Oh wow...that's why.I was wondering what was going on.I can't get a room near the airport to save my life! I went to Priceline yesterday and I'm going to try again Friday. It's only for April 4th-5th because our flight arrives at 10pm and we want someplace close to stay for the night.
Guess I'll have to keep plugging away and hope I find something reasonable.
Thank you for your replies!
Debbie

Some (all?) Michigan schools are out next week too...though I doubt that will impact WDW as much as Georgia's school break, LOL! Curious...any one know--does Georgia have the same week off (1st full week of April) every year for Spring Break, or does it vary from year to year? TIA! :)

I am thirty years old and our Spring Break has ALWAYS been the first week of April.I live about 30 min south of Atlanta. :)

We are on spring break also in SC. We have annual passes and were going somewhere else of spring break since we have already been twice this year but dh decided he wanted to go back a few days ago so I have been trying to find a room. Disney was completely booked excpet for the cabins so we are staying at the nick hotel. DS age 5 is going to love it!!

spiceycat: yes - spring break - Feb 15 to April 30 this year...

lastminutemom: Almost all Metro Atlanta public school systems are on spring break next week.

Local_Girl: Some (all?) Michigan schools are out next week too...

dismom9761: I am thirty years old and our Spring Break has ALWAYS been the first week of April.

lisametairie: The whole state of Georgia is out on spring break that week

srdipert: We are on spring break also in SC.

Eeek,This is going to be more difficult than I thought....

I checked and found out my son was off the first week in April in December and started making plans THEN! Georgia floods Florida during off times and it effects the prices and availability of hotels AND air travel. I was able to find a good price coming back on Airtran but the flight down would've been almost triple. I decided that driving down one way would actually save me money!

The Royal Pacific's AP rates ended the day I wanted to check in. The rate went from $149 a night to $229 a night. They knew that even though the kids were out the parents would be working until Friday... ugh...

It's going to be a CROWDED week in Orlando starting Saturday!!

party: :rainbow: :crowded: :jumping1:

I am sooo happy we decided to rent a huge, private vacation home for our stay! It's so nice to go back to your own house and pool and jacuzzi after a long(very busy by the sounds of it) day at the parks.

I'm with you, Debbie! I'll be at the Royal Pacific first so I can get FOTL at Universal for the weekend (we'll NEED it!!) then we go to the Marriott Grande Vista with my own private jacuzzi for 3 days of ZONE OUT!!

We will be at the Nick hotel as well. My kids are going to love it, too, but it is going to be really crowded as well, I am afraid.

Oh yeah...Robinrs,There is nothing like your own private space...mmmm,I'm relaxing just thinking about it!!
I ended up going to Hotelkingdom.com to book my airport hotel (I gave up on Priceline...) and we booked the Best Western Airport Inn on Aircenter Drive/McCoy Road.I read good reviews on this hotel on Trip Advisor and Travelocity. It says it's only 2 miles from the airport but driving out of the airport adds on another 4 miles. So I went to Mapquest and it was 6.19 miles to this hotel. We did get a great price and it's adjacent to a 24 hour Waffle House (mmm).
We would have preferred something closer but they were either totally booked or waaay too expensive.
So now were set to go!!
