We leave for Disney 2/1 for 7 days, staying at POFQ:banana:
I'm trying to plan where to watch the parades and such at the different parks.
We don't really like crowds so I'm hoping for the out of the way spots that the experts know that we'll get a great view but not in the midst of things. Thanks for the help!
Were very excited to go!!

Also my son's birthday is 2 days before going to you think I should tell the resort staff or is it only on the actual birthday. Thanks!!

most of the parks have parades at various times. i think the best one is at MK. Also get fast passes for the good rides right away. During the time your going it may not be to busy. When you check in to your resort, tell the CM about the birthday, they will give your child a birthday badge to wear. Basicly, you get lots of happy birthdays from the CM`s as you walk arround.

We were at POFQ last year on Feb 2nd for a week. Hope it is warmer for you than it was for us - evenings were down right frigid - nwe are holding off until March this year!

Illuminations - get to the bridge over by France and watch it from atop the bridge - you can see everything with no crowds. We actually travel by way of Boardwalk on the boat since we have a car which might not make sense for you.

Wishes - we tried to get clever and watch it from a vantage point off to the side and it was not at all the spectacle it is meant to be head on. I would get there early and stay along main street dead centre to see it.

MK Parade - I like watching it from Frontierland which is the beginning of the parade route so you have to be there EARLY! But at least while everyone else has found a seat to watch the parade, your are finished early and can race over to Fantasyland to take in some rides.

Spectromagic - we usually take it in from Liberty Square. It travels opposite to the daytime parade and we usually run back intot he park to do a few last minute rides like Pirates while the crowds filter out before we try to leave.

Stars and Motor Cars - It was not that busy so we actually found a spot about 15 minutes before the parade along the route and got a curbside seat.

We have never stuck around for the Animal Kingdom parade.

Tips : keep an eye on the crowds and the route beginning about an hour before to make sure you get a good spot. Find a location that uis close to a snack food place so you can get a drink or snack while you wait. Designate some parade holder people and spread out a bit. Unfortuantley there are always those people who arrive 2 minutes before the parade and think they can squeeze in besdie you leaving you and your kids no room after you have waited an hour for the real estate. Let kids stand or sit in front of you - lets face it, the kids deserve the best seats! If a child is behind you and cannot see, let them in front of you - makes sense!

Have fun!

Thanks so much, some great suggestions.

Right now it's 9 degree's here so it has to be warmer, right!!:cool1:

The best place that we stumbled upon to watch the parade is next to the Emporium on Main Street. We just happened to walk out of the Emporium when they totally stopped people from crossing the street so that the parade could go through. It is right at the end of the parade route. We were actually standing in the street behind the rope with a front row view of the parade. We got fantastic pictures of the whole thing!
