Every time I see Joe Rhodes on updated Disney shows on the Travel or History channels, his earlobe is hanger lower and lower. Freaks me out a little bit, all that bling he's got hanging from his left ear.

It was so long ago, I don't think they had video cameras yet.

FWIW, we rode it earlier this week and my friend and I swear something is different. We rode it once and both thought it separately - she said something to me and I agreed. When we re-rode it, I involuntarily ducked - something I've not done before in plenty of EE rides over several years.

I did NOT see it in its full glory, but I don't think the yeti is in motion. What we kind of decided is that perhaps she had been repositioned, lower to the track. Her hand is quite close to the ride cars.

I felt that before, you had to know where the AA was to see it - at current, there is no missing it.

The Yeti hasn't been permanently in "A" mode (full movement) since mid summer '06. However, there must have been times when she was back in "A" mode, at least for a day or 2 at a time to test, since then. We first rode E:E in October 2007 and I distinctly remember seeing the Yeti lean over and its arm swat at us as we flew by.

We have been on the ride many times since then, and have never seen Yeti move since. Sometimes she is in the dark, sometimes they have strobe lights, wind effects that make her fur ripple, and fog/mist, and once she was behind a tarp. But she has never actually moved for us since 2007.

I wonder if they could add some other effect to the attraction that wouldn't require moving heaven and earth? I don't know what exactly, if I did I'd be an imagineer.

Its been operating in B Mode (Disco Yeti) since probably 2007?? Wiki says it only ran in A mode for a few months after opening which was 2006.

Yes they are definitely fixing the Yeti just as soon as they extend the monorail to the Animal Kingdom with a station that will let you off just by Mt. Everest. They are combining the projects and will be done with both just as soon as the first one is done is the official word.

I have seen her in her full glory-- way back in the day... Rode today at 10:05 today- she was disco yeti. Nephew rode with Dd at 1:30 today- no changes- disco mode. Sorry everyone

Have a friend who used to work in AK - I can tell you she is definitely NOT working - there are major structural issues with her. They do not know how to fix her - yet. Not saying it will or won't happen. It would take a MAJOR rehab - like MAJOR - to disassemble the tracks, the mountain, and the yeti - like over a year or more - they just don't know.

They may change lighting here and there to test different effects but she (sadly) is not working.

We were on it this afternoon. Afterward my husband thought they fixed it... I didn't think so, but it looked different. I think maybe they may have adjusted the strobes to give the impression of more movement??
