I know I have found the grand pubaba's when it comes to Disney!!! I salute you!:worship:
We are huge Disney fans. We have looked into DVC and are still mulling it over. However, I was wondering if I can buy someone else's points and use them at WDW. I would like to stay at OKW and my husband and I usually go in the off season (fall, winter). Can we do this?

If we can..... how do we find legitimate sellers? Is there a website that people post on when they would like to sell their points?

What is a reasonable price for off season (fall or winter; no holidays) staying at OKW in a studio or 1 bedroom? Would this be a better way to go then staying at other resorts?

We are at Disney alot!!! We usually stay at Deluxe resorts and are quite accustomed to this. However, it gets pricey. Is this a good alternative? Would this be less expensive for us?

I would appreciate your great amount of knowledge on this subject. I must admit DVC is looking better and better.
Thank you for your responses!

What you would be doing is renting a reservation from a DVC member, you are not actually renting the points. The DVC member always has control of the reservation. The details (amount of payment, terms of payment, etc) is a private transaction between you and the member. If either of you fail to live up to the terms of your agreement DVC/Disney will not become involved at all.

Also, cancellation policies, etc. are up to the individual member you are renting from, and those policies should be made clear to you before you pay any money.

If you know your dates and room size you can post your rental request here on the DVC Rent-Trade board.

The price of the rental is usually based on a "per point" cost, say $11 or $12 per point, again full negotiable between you and the member. To get the number of points needed for your ressie, look at the DVC point charts link under the Timeshare Store banner at the top of this page.

What you consider off season is not really offseason for DVC members. Oct, Nov and Dec are prime DVC months. Check out the FAQs at the top of the Rent/Trade Board on the DIS.

thanks alot!! I had no idea there was that much information posted on this site (I stick to the blogs and don't wander around too much).

So, when is off season in the DVC community.

..So, when is off season in the DVC community.

Early Jan, early Sept, late Aug. Maybe early May. Anytime kids are in school, no holidays being celebrated, no festivals/multiday entertainment going on at WDW. Doesn't leave much.
