I tried to order the planning dvd and it said only available to residents of the US. Have any Canadians had success in ordering a planning dvd.

Wow really? I've always been able to order them off the Disney site. In fact I ordered one about 4 weeks ago - still haven't rec'd it yet, but that's normal I find. I'm not going for a while due to the exchange rate, but I like to get my Disney fix.

I think it's a recent development. I have ordered them in the past. Just download this one and watch it on the computer. You'll get the same info, just much more quickly.

I tried a few months ago and it said I was only able to download it to the computer. Definitely not as fun as ordering it and waiting for it to come in the mail!

OK - I just went on the site and you're right! I don't know when they changed it to US residents only to be able to get the DVD. I can tell you that it worked for me when I ordered it last month. Now I wonder if I will even get it. Maybe they just don't think we are a large enough audience to justify the expense, especially due to the low dollar. But then our dollar has been low before and we were able to get it - mind you it was an old-fashion VHS tape. We poor Cdns get overlooked so much by Disney it seems lately. :guilty:

They actually made the initial change towards the end of last summer, but every so often it seems an international request manages to slip through. When I tried to order one at that time, the lovely 1-800 lady told me they were no longer shipping the dvds internationally due to rising costs of shipping. They were also getting more requests from people wanting to see the videos online so they could watch them on their portable devices.

I lucked out though because I had it shipped to a family member that was coming to visit us already so she brought it with her :)

Thanks, I tried online, can someone give me the #800 number I would like to try again.

Well as long as we can still access it right?
Can you just download it right from the site or do they send you a file to download? Also what file format was it?

I hope they still take all of your information though. I have ordered two planning DVD's over the years using different emails, and lo and behold both started receiving PIN's about a year after the order. If planning on staying onsite, it is good to order well in advance (far far in advance) so they have time to decide to send you a PIN offer. I think Disney will wait until they think they have lost you before they send a discount your way; maybe a year or so after ordering.
