Is there a list anywhere of what rides an infant can go on? For example can he be held on Its a Small World? Any help would be appreciated.

S

I don't think there is such a list, but they can go on any rides that don't have a height requirement. (there is definitely a list of the height requirement rides though).

Some may be easier than others, because of noise and movement, but that's something you can decide based on your own child.

I took my son on rides when he was 10 weeks and 6 months old. They are so portable at this age and will sleep anywhere.

Have a great trip!

At 17 months, he should be able to go on almost everything at MK with the exception of the Mountains. Last May our 18 month old went on just about everything.

We took our 17 month old to WDW last March and he went on lots of things! For instance, at MK he went on: Pirates of the Carribean, Haunted Mansion, Pooh, Small World, Peter Pan, Dumbo, Buzz Lightyear, Cinderella's Carousel, Jungle Cruise, Tomorrowland Speedway, & Tomorrowland Transit Authority! He had a great time! :)

We went with our 17-month-old last summer and he went on, almost every ride that didn't have a height restriction.
We skipped the Speedway (line too long) and Astro Orbiter (that thing makes me queasy!) but otherwise we did all the rides and had a great time! He wasn't a bit scared--I think he was too young to be wary; on our next trip he may be more hesitant!
His favorites were Buzz Lightyear, It's a Small World, and of course Dumbo.

Enjoy your trip. I think 17 months is a very magical age for a WDW trip!

That was this past October. We are lucky enough to be able to go again next month (DH has a business trip there, and hotel and transportation will be paid for), when DD will be 17 months. I suspect that we will take her on most of the same rides, except that I think she may have stronger "opinions" about what she likes and doesn't like this time since she is a few months older!

Some of the rides she went on and enjoyed were Dumbo, Peter Pan, IASW, the carousel, Pirates of Carribbean, Winnie the Pooh, Buzz Lightyear, and even the Maelstrom ride at Norway in Epcot. We didn't take her on the Haunted Mansion because I thought it might scare her.

The only ride I remember her crying on was the Land ride at Epcot. I think there just wasn't too much interesting there for a little kid to look at, and she was bored. I actually nursed her during the last part of the ride to calm her down because she was trying to get out of the car, and she was so fussing so loudly that I was afraid she would disturb people. I remember worrying that the end of the ride would have one of those cameras at the end that takes your picture as you are exiting!

Ditto all the other posters: Your child will be able to ride almost everything. The cool thing about Disney is that the rides are fun for all ages; it's not divided into "little kid" rides and thrill rides.

I wanted to add that on the rides your little one can't go on, you can do a "baby swap." When you get to the first CM (cast member) at each ride, ask for a baby swap pass. Then the first parent rides with any older kids, while the second parent waits with the little one. Then the second parent goes through the fast pass line (shorter wait) ALONG WITH the older kids. The older kids get to ride twice in a row so that the second parent doesn't have to ride alone.

Thank you for all of your observations. I didn't think that anything w/o a height requirement he'd be able to go on - duh?

I guess the same would apply for rides at AK and MGM. Does the Safari have a height restriction.

Just to clarify, he's my nephew and I can't wait to take him!

The Safari doesn't have a height restriction, and I'll bet your nephew will think it's great! It's not overly long and there is quite a bit to look at. Just be sure to have someone hold on tight to the baby; it's really bumpy!

We borrowed a baby sling from a friend for our 15-month-old. It made waiting in line tons easier. It also gave me and added sense of security on things like Dumbo and Triceratops Spin. He loved all the rides that went high up in the air and spun him around. He also loved Festival of the Lion King. He was laughing and clapping along for most of it, then he fell asleep in the sling and slept thru the last half!!

Don't forget about the baby centers in each park. There were a couple times when my little one got a bit overloaded and needed some downtime. They have toys and quiet places and the biggest changing tables I have ever seen! Take advantage! Have a great trip.

We just returned from WDW with our 8 month old.
Before the trip hubby checked out the height calculator on the DIS.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/height.htm

We found only 14 rides in WDW he couldn't go on.

Magic Kingdom -
Goofy's Barnstormer
Space Mountian
Big Thunder Mountian
Splash Mountian
Indy Speedway

Epcot -
Body Wars
Test Track
Mission: Space

Animal Kingdom -
Dinosaur
Kali River Rapids
Primevil Whirl

Studios -
Rockin Roller Coaster
Star Tours
Tower of Terror

We loved the baby centers and we used the a Baby Bjorn quite a bit. You guys will have a great time.

I always joke that my kids have no fear, but we found that our son (17 mo old) was not happy on the dark rides.
He was only happy snuggled in my chest and didn't enjoy the rides the firsttwo days. He did warm up to the rides after a couple of days. His favorite ride ended up being Buzz Lightyear Spin.

We also did the safari at AK. Very bumpy- hold on to him/her tightly!

Also, if your toddler will be speding a lot of time in the stroller, plan to find areas/attractions that allow for that all important gross motor time. For example, the boneyard at AK or Honey I shrunk the kids play area at MGM.

We also brought a sling so we didn't have to break our backs holding him in line but the lines were not vey long at all.

Have great trip!
