My 25 year old twin sons were supposed to join us at Disney this April but because one cannot get off work during that time, they've elected to join us for our December Xmas trip. We're starting the trip on the 12/16 3-day cruise - they might join us at this time or wait and fly in and meet us on 12/19 for the WDW portion of the trip.

They are single (and loving it), fun, and like evening activities and sleeping in late. Do you think they'd get bored on this cruise? Are there opportunities to meet other singles (girls)?

Any info appreciated.

Just teturned from 4 day cruise and saw very few people in the age range you are looking for. Even at the adult only pool it was mostly married couples. I would say I saw about 5 women who fit that range. Most of the nighttime activities aren't geared for them either.

Sounds like they would have a better time in Las Vegas...Or on a Carnaval singles cruise.

Hi,
My twenty seven year old daughter was bored to death at night. She has been on Carnival (which she loved) and Princess and said " Disney was fun because all the little ones were with us. But from now on she will do Carnival....
Myself I loved it.. But I also went to bed by ten everynight.

Thanks all for your replies. I just talked to them about it and they'd rather join us for the 2nd half of the trip - evenings at Downtown Disney and Citywalk are more their style.

I was on 4 night.........
Hey....Trust me...I was once single.....
Go to Vegas....not many single women on this ship!!

My best friend and I are single, 26 year old women and we can't wait to go! Neither of us are really into the whole party scene and aren't going on vacation hoping to find a guy (not that it would be so bad if we did but it's not an objective) so I guess that makes a big difference too. It's one of the reasons we chose to do Disney as opposed to another cruise line. There are a lot of activities that were of great interest to me but I could see how other people in my age group could be bored. I think I would be happy even if I just sat on my Verandah all day watching the ocean. *sigh* I wish I was there right now. ::yes::

I agree with you Michelle. I'm 27, single, and have been on 4 Disney cruises with my family. I would board the Magic again in a minute. A good friend has come with me the past few years which makes it even more fun. We've always managed to have a blast at night.
I've cruised Carnival before and wasn't impressed. I'm not big into the party scene and not a big drinker, so I'm not looking for that type of thing. I think it definitely depends on the type of person you are and what you're looking for.

The only reason we won't be back on the Magic this year is that we've decided to do a Hawaiian cruise.

I'd love to be back on CC with my Konk Kooler in hand!

Michelle,
If you ever feel like you need a kid during our cruise, I've got 4 of em you can pick from ;)

both are great times! make sure your sons check out the dueling piano bar at citywalk, my friend and I kinda stumbled (heh) upon it, and spent a lot of time there!

and if your sons need someone to keep them occupied on their cruise, drop me an email!! :cool2:puckerup: :wave2:

Um, thanks Amanda, I don't know what to say...I'm speechless at your generosity... ;) :p :teeth:

We have taken 5 Disney cruises thus far, and two years ago my DD met the love of her life. Well she is 21 now, but they have plans to marry as soon as they finish college. She is from NH and he is from CA, so all things are possible. You may not take a Disney cruise with the intent of finding a romantic partner, but when you least expect it, sometimes life presents to you an opportunity that you can't resist, lol. Good luck to all the single cruisers out there! :)

Thank you very much! I am thrilled to see DD so happy..

Do not forget, I also found my true love, my fiance Crissup indirectly through the DIS! My affiliation here led me to visit the Think Tank where he is the Webmaster..and the rest is history! LOL!!

We can't make up our minds for what kind of cruise for the summer of 2005. Our daughters will be 20 and 22. They are not the party type but I want them to have fun. IF not Disney, then what cruise is best?

I am taking my DS 22 Jon with me and my DS 14 Sean on my first DC. Jon has picked out some really "cool" excursions to Key West, Grand Caymen, Cozumel and even Castaway Cay.
While on the ship Jon and I are going to Palo for Champain Brunch, High Tea, and Dinner(His Idea). And he wants several of the Spa Massages. We will even try the Premiun Wine Package.
I know he will have a blast! I guess its all in what your DS's are in to.:smooth:

Please don't flame me or take offense- just my opinion.... I think you'd be more hard pressed to find single men on the cruise than single women. I don't know why.... but it seems to me that there are more women enamored with Disney, Mickey, etc. than men. (I said MORE THAN... I didn't say there aren't any men that feel the same way LOL)

So I would think that single men might find single women on a cruise easier than single women would find single men. Look at this thread even.... talking the men out of going but women posting saying they are going. LOL
