I am thinking jambalaya and tortilla chips may not be the best pre-workout food.

Happy Mother's Day, Cam! Hope you're having a good weekend!

Thank you, Julie!
It was a very busy weekend, but good in a lot of ways including having dinner with both kids and DH on Mother's Day.

Hope you have a great week ahead!:cool1:

Hi Cam!!! You are doing so great!!! I've yet to get back into the swing of things! ugh. :goodvibes You are rocking!

Stacie

I can't believe how long it's been since I've popped in. I just wanted to say that I think you're doing a great job on C25K, and that I hope you find your perfect VR shoes to go with the perfect dress! :goodvibes

Thank you, Tracy! Truthfully, my allergies are knocking me out. I still have sinus pressure and headaches and my left ear has never recovered since mid-March, so I still feel fluid in there and I don' t hear very well on that side. No time to deal with it, unfortunately. Thanks for asking, though!

Stacie -- I felt like I met a celebrity (or LONG-lost friend) at the WISH meet. Matt probably thought I was some whacko! You are such a sweetheart for being so supportive and it was absolutely awesome to see you ROCK the Minnie! I hope you are truly, outrageously proud of yourself! :cloud9:

Thanks, Debra! You are a sweetheart for still being so supportive when I am being so lax! I'm glad I've been able to stick with the C25K schedule but other than that, I've been soooo undisciplined. I am convinced that if I'd watched what I've eaten since marathon, with all my working out, I'd have lost 15 pounds. Instead, I think I've gained 3-5. :scared1: And it definitely is NOT attributable to muscle. :sad1: Just a tough time of year in April and May, so even if I'd gotten myself in gear for a moment in the intervening months, I'd surely have fallen off the wagon and been dragged for MILES starting about late March.

I keep telling myself I am getting back in gear. And then I find myself eating compulsively in the evenings. HAVE to get a handle on that. I think I should start with NOT reading bridal magazines at the kitchen table and getting up periodically to find more food. :sad2: Also, I shouldn't "munch" on something while dinner is cooking. :rolleyes1

 Cam,

I hope you're feeling better soon.:wizard: I have a combination allergy/ flu bug thing and it's no fun at all. :( I hope we're both feeling better as soon as possible!

Have a great day tomorrow!

Hi, Cam. Just wanted to pop in here on your journal and say thanks for all your positive comments on my RR/TR. I do very much appreciate all the encouragement I've received here on WISH, and I hope to be around getting more healthy every day for a long, long time!

I am sorry you are having trouble with allergies/sinus issues. I have experienced that and it is no fun. I also know something about dealing with a chronic health problem or two, so I am very sympathetic when someone else is having to handle a health issue that doesn't go away quickly. Here's some healing pixie dust for you! (Can't find the pixie dust smiley - just use your imagination!:cutie:)

I hear you on the food issue. I have problems with eating when I get home at night while making dinner, also. It's just a battle we have to keep waging!

Hope you have a good day!

Susan

Oh, Tracy, I'm sorry you've been sick. I am just beginning to feel better. It's been a little less than a month. UGH! Hearing in my left ear is still not right, but I'm just glad the sinus migraines have subsided.

Susan -- I LOVED your RR/TR and I loved the pix Stacie had of you in her RR. Just think about how far you've come already -- and it's a heck of a lot more than 3.14 miles! ;) Looking forward to sharing this continued journey with you!

Thank you, Stacie, for the pixie dust!

Well, I made a big decision last night. I had originally thought I'd do endurance races in Philly in September and November, but after going to get measured for my wedding gown last night, I've decided not to do any endurance events before the half in January. I am going to really focus on my weight loss efforts. I'll continue to work out but won't do any races longer than 5ks and I already have 4 on my calendar to look forward to.

It was so much fun to try on the gown again last night! The really frustrating part was getting my measurements taken and seeing where that put me on the Demetrios size chart. My measurements are spread literally over a 4 size range. Then I tried on a gown in a particular size that was a little less than an inch from zipping. That led me to the decision to order 1 size down from that, which will be 1.5-2 sizes down from what I'd need if I were going to wear the gown today. The big issue is my waist, which is only slightly smaller than my bust. So my trunk is pretty much consistent measurements from my bust, my waist and my lower tummy area. ICK! There isn't a good way to let material out in the bodice so the seamstress said I'd have to work on my trunk area most of all if I want that smaller size to fit. Since the gown won't even be in until October, I took a giant leap of faith and ordered the gown in a size that I realistically think I get to in the next 4-5 months. :dance3: So, I am really going to focus on working out in a lot of different ways and I am going to go back to doing my crunches and push ups every day.
Last night I tried the Wii for the first time and I really enjoyed boxing and could feel myself working up a sweat. Bowling was fun, too, and DS is looking forward to us doing tennis together. I've NEVER played any game console game before but this was fun because you are on your feet and moving. Oh,and my Mii character looks a lot like me even in body type and as I lose bulk, I'll modify her to make her smaller, too. :lmao: I really like that she is wearing a WISH green outfit.

Okay, I have a really busy work day today. Thanks to everyone for visiting.

Food today:
B (8:00): lite yogurt (1)
L (1:30): green salad (0); campbells reduced fat italian wedding soup (6)
S: (5:30): yogurt (3)
D: lean cuisine grilled chicken dinner (sans caramel apple dessert-- guestimate 5); 1/2 panini (3) WW pretzel crips w/LC cheese (3)

Activity: 20 mins walking (to and from court)

Yay Cam on ordering your gown!!! (I'd love to a picture!!! For some reason I am thinking it's different then the last one I saw???)

4 5ks!!! Way to go! I've got a few on my radar too. I have to something to keep motivated until it's time to train for the 1/2! You can totally do this! Stay focused on your WW and your exercise and you'll drop that weight!

Ok...This is NOT an option, but you could always do one of those body wraps that guarantees a few inches lost. :goodvibes I've always wondered if they worked... :rolleyes1

Oh and your b-fast was better than mine. That bad husband I have...Such a bad influence. You did not hear me say I had a bacon egg and cheese biscuit from McDonalds!

Hope you have a great weekend!!!
Stacie

Hi! It's been a while, but it seems like you're doing really well. Good for you!

Wii is awesome! DH happened to win one, and it is just a hoot. You can get a really good workout from it. I know what you mean about the boxing--the first time I tried that I swear I saw my life flash before my eyes! The tennis is lots of fun too.

I'm so glad you had a good race weekend. It sounds like an awesome time.

Keep up the great work! :cheer2:

Stacie -- Was your breakfast fuel for a run? :cool1: I have to get out of the habit of thinking I can eat the 300-400 calories I burn in the morning at the gym PLUS whatever I would have "spent" on breakfast. Imagine if I actually didn't eat those extra 300-400 calories? :rolleyes2:

Pearlieq-- thank you so much for visiting! I was lurking on your journal living vicariously a couple of weeks ago when you were doing TRs from/about WDW. That sounded like such an awesome trip and I LOVED the restaurant reviews. Oh, I can't wait to try tennis. Maybe this weekend. I have heard that the boxing and tennis are fabulous upper body workouts, so I'd LOVE to get into the habit of doing one or the other regularly.

So, I had lunch aroudn 1:30 -- large green salad & a can of reduced fat italian wedding soup. It was all delicious but by 3:15 I was so hungry again. Now I am voracious! I am going to eat a lean cuisine panini, since sugarless gum, water and coffee have each failed to eliminate the sickening hunger pangs. UGH!

Sounds like you had a really successful weekend thus far!

I know you can do this Cam...I can't wait to see those pictures of you in your beautiful gown!!!

BTW...I was reading along with your shoe shopping drama...and I have to say that as I've gotten older my feet are cooperating less and less. I just can't wear pretty shoes anymore :sad2: . Well...I can wear them but I pay the price unfortunately. My feet KILL ME!!! I'm all about sneakers and ballet flats these days...the time of sexy heals and boots are gone I think. *sigh* But I just can't stand sore feet. So I do understand your frustration. And on your special day it's important that you aren't dealing with foot pain and instead able to enjoy every second with your handsome prince ;). There was a reason Cinderella left that glass slipper..trust me ;).
