Well my friends...I am now camera-less!!
Granted I did not have a very expensive camera..it was a Kodak Easy share..but it took nice pictures...I can not complain.
Well...I was at the parade this morning and it was hanging from my wrist...the strap had worn...which I was unaware of and all of a sudden it broke and the camera kissed the sidewalk!!:scared1:

As my daughter came down the parade route...I went to focus on her and it would not focus. Something busted inside when it hit the ground!!:sad2: :sad2:

I am so sad!!

Sorry to hear of your loss, I cringed when I read your post....on the other hand, you get to enjoy shopping for a new camera.

I am sure this is obvious now but that is one reason I don't hang my cameras by a wrist strap. If I am not actively using my camera I put it back in its case. My view is that the strap is there only to catch the camera if I drop it out of my hand.

A friend at work had a new camera and he was always careful to use the wrist strap whenever he used it so he didn't drop it. He was climbing up the concrete steps to his front door when he lost his footing. When he put his hands out to break his fall, the camera swung like a pendulum and smacked full force into one of the steps. He said that if he didn't have the wrist strap on he probably would have just dropped the camera from a few inches and done a lot less damage.

Good luck.

First of all...I have not even asked my dh about another one. With Christmas coming up and shopping to do for others..I hate to spend so much on me. I will remember next time NOT to use the strap to just hang it from my wrist! I do learn from my mistakes! :sad2:

What a bummer! I hope someone was able to get some shots of your DD.

I got some of her before the parade and my dad got one of her actually in the parade so thats good!
