Sorry Mark, can't help you with any particular bag suggestions. You need a sherpa, not a backpack. Or Hermione's little beaded purse from Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows--now that would be a great bag!

Thank you for mentioning Hermione's bag. :lmao: Its exactly what I was thinking! :rotfl2:

I have five camera bags. I will at least look for a slightly large holster bag for our next WDW trip. And I think I will be on the market for a backpack bag as well. My current large bag holds everything I currently own but I am thinking of a getting a new lens and there is not room in the bag. Plus my neck and back has had three injuries and carrying the load on one strap is not very comfortable. A back pack will at least distribute the load.....

Seems like one just collects camera bags over time. At least they are not man purses.....

Later,
Dan

I wonder if anyone has had any success getting refunds or exchanges from Disney PhotoPass?

I am recently back from WDW, and while there had a very small number of PhotoPass photographs taken. I ordered five for download. Now, there were two photographs of my family and me in front of the EPCOT dome. From the tiny thumbnail views, they looked almost identical.

So I chose one of them as a download. Here it is (resized to 1024 pixels on the long edge. You can see the original by clicking on the picture - if you're a member of flickr):

Dreadful, isn't it? The camera has clearly moved while the picture was being taken.

No problem, I thought. Disney is great at customer service; if I let them know it was a bad photo they'll let me change it to the other version of "the same" photo - maybe it will be better.

So I was surprised to get a reply from them saying that "due to the nature of the PhotoPass download, we are not able to offer refunds or exchanges"

I don't know what consumer protection legislation is like in Florida, but in the UK if a retailer sells a product that is not "of merchantable quality" then the retailer is legally required to provide an exchange or refund. To me, the above picture is most definitely not "of merchantable quality".

What does everyone else think? Am I being too picky? Is Disney being reasonable or unreasonable? Should I just shut up and accept I've lost US$15?

It is not the easiest shot to pull off with the longer exposure required to get Spaceship Earth. I think the issue is that they are not using a remote shuuter release so it is the photographer who introduced camera shake by pressing the shutter. That is why they take multiple shots to have a better chance of getting a sharp shot.

I would call Disney and have a supervisor pull up the image if it is still avaliable. I really do not like photopass as not every photographer has the same minimum skill set. Or the bar is set really low. Do not get me wrong.there are just a few bad apples, but when Disney charges a premium you are expecting professional results.

Maybe it's not a bad picture...it's just an artsy effect.

Personally, I'd walk away. While I hate getting ripped off, $15 isn't worth the aggravation.

Good news - after one further email, Photopass sent a one-off discount code to let me get the other photograph.

So, while I was surprised at the initial response, it worked out in the end :D

Glad it worked out for you. I remeber a few shots at MNSSHP against the lighted Mickey's ghost and the POC backdrops and thinking "Wow these guys must be good. I could never get exposure or shutter right in these circumstances."

Once I got my CD, I learned that it was challenging for them too. Not bad, but clearly either oof, or slow shutter (yet exposed nicely). Good for the circumstances, but not great.

I had been wanting a bag that would more stylish and discreet to carry when I was not hiking or tromping around Disney but going out to dinner etc. and ran across this bag at Best Buy several weeks ago. I LOVE it and use it all of the time. The padding is adequate for where I"m taking it and people do not know it's a camera bag. When I pull my camera out I often get a look like this. :scared1: :lmao:

It is so discreet that the check out person at Best Buy didn't even ring it up when I put it on the counter. I was getting my CC out and didn't notice the first time, but knew by the total. When I told him I had two items he looked at the counter again, then at me and shrugged. Even he couldn't believe they sold this and thought it was my purse I had brought in. :rotfl:

Here's a couple of pics of the bag:

Showing the size with my 70-200mm. I have carried it and my camera although it's a tight squeeze to zip it closed.

The dividers can be moved around or completely taken out.

I never have carried a large purse so this works well for me. I can have my camera with one lens attached and another lens along with my pocketbook. Or just my camera, pocket book and sunglass case. And there's an outer pocket I keep my cellphones, gum, and chapstick in.

That is really cute. I think I'll have to check it out.

I got this bag a couple of months ago and love it! At the time, the Best Buy near me had it marked on sale for $15! Couldn't pass that deal up.

I like that! :thumbsup2

Is Best Buy the only place that carries this?

Dawn

I haven't seen it anywhere else but since it's made by SwissGear it could show up other places. It looks like Amazon carries it as well.

Wow - great deal!!!! I had a rewards card that was about to expire so I got $15 off - but not the whole bag for $15!

I bought mine back in March before going on a trip to Charleston. I carried my XSi along with my 18-200 lens and put my wallet, phone, etc in it. It was a little uncomfortable carrying it around all day- was kind of a lot on my shoulder. The first few hours were ok- but after a long day, it was a bit much.

I use it now but tend to take it when I'm not travelling. It's just not comfortable enough. But if I want to take my camera somewhere and not look like I'm carrying a camera bag- it's great!! :)

Yeah, I am trying to decide if I need this! Honestly, I LOVE my Kata DR-465 backpack bag. I carry it to weddings, etc...and don't care that it doesn't look like a purse.

I can carry the kata around at Disney. It does get a bit heavy, but it isn't all on one shoulder.

Now, if I see it on a $15 sale I will def. get it!

Agreed but I can't carry any bag on my shoulder all day. What I like is that the handles are short enough to tuck up under my arm and be quite secure. They also are short enough that I can hold it in my hand hanging down and it won't hit the ground and then I switch between the two positions as I do for any purse or bag I'm carrying.

I was in CO Springs last week at a conference and used only this bag - even when I hiked up a short trail. That is not what I will normally do but it worked for that day. I also was able to remove the dividers and carry my small laptop in it for the conference so it was very versatile in that situation.

I just got this bag...two nights ago...everybody thought I had gotten a new purse. :lmao:

That is a very nice feature!
