Camer question for solo trip

I am considering taking my first solo trip this spring and would love to take my DSLR camera for some great pictures. My question is what do you do with your camera while you are in rides?

Personally I no longer carry a camera and just use my iPhone. However, I have carried bags and there is always a place to stash a bag. With the exception of Rocknroller coaster and then I hold on for dear life to any items I brought on board.

Can you carry bags onto the rides?

Yes. Just be careful to protect it well on water rides!
