Thought I would post this as it's own thread, as well as in the hotel pics thread (even though my pics are terrible - sorry!:guilty: )

We stayed at the Camelot Inn and Suites between April 29th and May 6. Check in was incredibly fast - only about 5 minutes to get keys and directions to the room. Sorry - no pics of outside the hotel at all - I forgot to take so many pictures this trip, that I am going to make a list of pictures I want to take next time so I don't forget any!! And accept my apologies, please for the pics I did take - everything is a terrible mess - I never remembered to take pics when it was all tidied up!

We booked a 1 bedroom suite, and requested a room close to the pool, since the kids are much easier to handle on a short walk! What we got was a fabulous two room suite literally across the outdoor walkway from the pool - if we stepped out our door, the gate to the pool was right there! I was a bit nervous about noise from the pool (our kids still nap every afternoon), but the rooms have been very well soundproofed, because there would be kids screaming at the tops of their lungs in the pool, and we could barely hear any of it in the room. I'd turn on the fan in the kids room and you couldn't hear a thing. It was great!

The room was EXACTLY like the photos on their website - down to how the towels were folded! You basically walked in the door to the main room - sofa to your left (sofabed), small table, King bed, armoire with TV and 3 drawers, small desk by door with chair. Small kitchen type sink at the end of the room with fridge, microwave, 1 large cupboard and 1 narrow cupboard (great to store groceries). HUGE wardrobe - fit all 3 carseats with room for shoes too! Also a small dining type table with 4 chairs - we never used it to eat at - it housed our purchases and the chairs were great clothes hangers!:rolleyes1

Please excuse the mess - we were unpacking. Front door is to the left of the photo - this is the grown ups room!

Kids' room - I'm standing by the bathroom sink to take this one.

pic of the crib - made Allie feel like she was at home - she slept great!

Poor pic, but shows bedside tables for all sorts of junk! Dining table in the foreground...

Ignore my dancing 3 year old -shows also the dining table/junk table and chairs/clothes hangers, also cupboards/kitchen area

The next room was great too - 2 queen sz beds, a small table and 2 armchairs, another huge wardrobe (which held all the suitcases), lots of space for the baby's crib (also great - not a collapsible playpen, but an honest to goodness metal rolling crib!). The bathroom was also in this room (only drawback, since when we needed to shower in the morning we had to do it in the kids' room - thank goodness they are sound sleepers!) The bathroom sink was seperate from the toilet and tub, so I could do my hair while dh showered. There was also the iron, a coatrack, a blowdryer etc in this area.

The dividing door was a big heavy metal one, so it blocked almost all sound from our room to theirs. It was fabulous!!!

The service at the front desk was great - just beware that thier info about park openings might be off - we were told the park opened at 9 our first day, so we rushed off only to find that it wasn't open till 10. At least we were in line early! They were very helpful when we had to find our way to Target to purchase a new camera (mine broke on day 3!!!:headache: ) They told us which bus to take, gave me change for bus fare, etc... (I refused to pay for a cab, and with 3 kids that would have been more hassle than a 5 minute bus ride!)

The housekeeping staff were fabulous - cleaned very well, even around all our junk littering the room!

As for location, the hotel is a bit farther up Harbour than some - probably an extra 5 minutes from the crosswalk. It was about 8 minutes from our door to the DL gates, depending on the line at bag check.

In short, the hotel was fabulous - perfect for our needs. I couldn't have designed a better room set up for our family. Tons and tons of space, even with all the stuff we had (double stroller, 3 carseats and clothes/stuff/toys for 5 people!!) We never once felt crowded!

View from door of room - McD's next door. Would have had good view of fireworks, but they were cancelled both nights

Breakfast room - muffins, juice, coffee, cereals - nothing fancy, but good enough for us! With an early lunch, it was all we needed!

The pool was only about 4 ft deep - perfect for my older kids, both of whom could touch the bottom. The hot tub was a little small at times - if the pool was busy, the hot tub was always full and it was hard to get in there to warm up on cool evening swims.

Pool area - small, but not usually crowded while we were there

Our room (412) was also right next to an ice and pop machine, and the elevator was just around the corner, which was also nice!

If anyone has any other questions, feel free to ask!

Thank you for this review. We will be there at the end of the month and I'm sure you know how it helps to have a 'real' person reviewing!:thumbsup2

Awsome pics and explanation of the rooms. This is one of the hotels we are looking at and this is a great help. So, you felt like the walk was still reasonable with your younger kids? My youngest will be four and a half and will be walking although we can get a stroller in the park if he gets tired.

Thank you for your review, it was very nice to read, as well as see your nice family pictures. Your dancing 3 year old is cute, as well is everyone else! :)
I like that the swimming pool is only 4 feet deep, for I am 5 ft. 8 inch's, and do not know how to swim, (OMG, ugh and sigh) so that is one pool I believe that I would be safe in.
It sounds and looks like y'all had a fun, and great time as well, I am glad, :flower3:people should enjoy as much as possible their vacations.

Great review, we are definitely considering this hotel too.... I love that your room looked like your bags had exploded after arriving, ours do that too and our kids are now 11 and 16!!!:rotfl:

Just a couple of questions, how big was the breakfast room, did you have to wait for a seat often or would they let you take stuff back to your room...

Do you know if they did bag storage on your last day, our flights or always early evening and we need to store bags on the last day

Do you know if they charge a car parking fee

Thanks..

i loved my stay last year im glade you had a grate room we were in 404 about 4 rooms up from the pool.
