camcorders on the beach

For those of you who have cruised before, have you brought your camcorders to the islands (st. marteen, thomas/john and castaway)? I love to record my dd having fun in the surf, etc., but am worried about theft if we are all snorkeling or swimming at once. Does Coki Beach have lockers (I think we are doing Coral World - my dd is really into marine life)? Castaway Cay? I never think twice about leaving the camera in the stroller at Disney when we are in an attraction (I know this is stupid in hindsight, but hey, it's Disney!), but I don't know about the beaches.

Any suggestions?

We have never brought ours to Castaway Cay, although hubby swears he is going to bring it when he goes parasailing again. On several trips, I have noticed that people have hung their camcorders from their beach umbrellas. Not sure why (it keep the sand out, maybe?!). No one seemed to be bothering them. I would be worried about taking our camcorder somewhere public and leaving it lying around, but at least on Castaway Cay it is only the people from the ship and the crew. I know that is still not 100 percent safe, but I would feel a lot more comfortable with that than with the general public! At WDW, I once had ONE of my flip flops stolen. The irony is that they left the other! I know it was stolen because when I went looking for them at the edge of the wave pool and found the single one remaining, the life guard told me she had seen a man walk by, pick up one, give it to his little kid, and continue on their way. She didn't realize he had stolen it...I mean, who would ever think someone would steal one flip flop?!
