Does any one have any input on camcorders? I was looking at getting a Panasonic PVGS15 which would only cost me $250.00 which I hear is a great price brand new. Tell me pros and cons. Right now we have a Sony Hi 8 but we want something smaller to take to WDW. Any input would help. Thanks
Diane

I'd vote to stay with Sony, I've had a couple of camcorders, adn never had anything close to my Sony's in quality, functions, and ease of use. I currently have a Digital 8 Sony, that automatically converts my old Hi 8 tapes, and transfers them to my computer for DVD burning.
I also recommend looking for "Open Box" items, returns, stuff like that. The stores will give you a manufacturers warrentee, but the price is always great. Check Best Buy, Circuit City, Sears.

I purchased a Canon Optura 20 for our 4/24 Disney Western cruise in April and have been very happy with it. Small and easy to carry. Got it through the internet for about $250-300 less than Best Buy and Circuit City. Have since taken it to WDW (filmed a great deal at the Flower and Garden Festival) and the color and sound are excellent. It was one of the top rated of its kind by Consumer Reports.
