I have a Canon Elura 90 and I want to get a microphone that I can hand to the person I am filming. Any ideas?

You could go to the Elura part of this board http://www.camcorderinfo.com/bbs/f24 and search old posts or join and ask the group. I'm pretty sure one of the main knowledgeable guys on that board owns an Elura 90 too, and I think he may have expierience with some different types/brands of mics with that camera.

Looks like the ELura 90 has a stereo microphone jack like the Optura Xi I have. I bought two microphones for a recent set of interviews, one hand-held and one clip-on. The clip-on worked great, caught every word. The hand-held was OK, but most of the interviewees moved their hand or their mouth so the sound wasn't as even. You can't use a mono microphone in the stereo jack on the camera, so I also bought a Y-cord so that I could plug in a microphone to only one channel (left or right), or two microphones at the same time. That was handy-I put my questions on one channel and the interviewee's responses on the other.

Here's the mic's:

clip-on: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/con...ls&Q=&sku=64426&is=REG&addedTroughType=search

HTH.
