Cam & Howard's Vow Renewal PJ -1/12/09 - WP&WH--p.98: TRIP REPORT BEGINS

Believe me, Lisa, my friend, I know how blessed I am. :lovestruc

Thank you, Honey!

Howard and I worked on more projects last night. I was able to put little pink checkmarks next to about 7 more line items on my comprehensive to-do list and I think I'll get a LOT more done this weekend because Howard will be away and Andrew has marching band for about 13 hours Saturday and about 3 on Sunday. I am really looking forward to packing up a lot of what is done and just getting those items and their components out of the "mix". I am really, really hoping to make significant headway on the invitations this weekend, too, maybe even getting all of the components done and then just having to assemble them. :yay:

HI Cam! Just wanted to let you know I was thinking about you! Howard is such a sweety!!! I love the fact that you dyed your cinnie and the edges being darker is very cool!!!

Stacie

I am already a little crazy with just the thought of:

A. The Dress
B. The Crinnie
C. The Garter
D. The Vows
E. The Venue
F. The Family and Friends present
G. The Food
H. The Honeymoon
I. The Tiara
J. The Hair & (un-needed) Make-Up
K. The "Blingy" Jewelry

But most of all I am a "little crazy" with just the thought of looking into Cam's teary gorgeous brown eyes and telling her I love her and that she is mine forever. :cloud9:  :lovestruc  :flower3: :faint:

Oh my goodness!!! That is one of the most romantic things I have ever read! :lovestruc

Cam...you are a lucky girl and us newbies can only aspire to have what you have got.

I'm sitting here crying, Howard you are so so very sweet!!! Cam I am so happy that you are having the wedding of your dreams and sure everything will be absolutely PERFECT!!!!

Thank you, Stacey, Jo & Patty! The amazing thing is that Howard really does say those things to me all the time. He makes me feel very cherished. :faint: :lovestruc

So, another MAJOR project is done -- water bottle labels! I think they came out great, too. And I've started on the table tents for the dessert party. :woohoo:

Cam - I'm just catching up but I wanted to tell you a couple of things. Love the table numbers are representing something instead of just numbers, that's a cute idea. Pink crinnie came out great. A castle that you can keep as a keepsake is an excellent thing.

You know how to make a woman tear up I tell ya.

Cam, I just get so amazed everytime I catch up with your plans and see all the creativity and love you put into your planning!! I adore your pink crinny! I can't wait to see what's next! :rotfl:

Thank you, Laura! I told Howard this morning (when he was making me feel cherished and precious even though I was sweaty and stinky after a run) that no one would ever believe that he treats me so well every single day of our lives together. That his posts here are the very same things he says to me in person every day, and not just a "show" for people reading here. He said that's okay as long as I know he means every word. I know I am so blessed!

Kelly -- thank you! I am not very craft-y, so seeing some of my ideas coming together has been such a rewarding part of this process. It makes me feel really good to be able to do nice things for our guests and for them to know it wasn't just a matter of spending money, but also thinking about them as I work on projects. Fortunately, so far I haven't had to scrap anything as a failure. Even if stuff doesn't look professional, at least people will know these projects were made with love.

the crinnie came out great!! I love the darker edge, what a bonus!!

And your dh realises just how lucky he is to be married to you!! :lovestruc He sounds like such a sweetie!!

Well said! :thumbsup2

I am debating doing welcome bags. I'm flying and not driving, so the logistics of getting them there and distributing them is daunting.

What are your plans for transporting and distributing?

We are flying as well, so I am packing all the projects here and putting them all in one huge suitcase. If there is too much, I'll ship it to my resort a couple days before. The other thing I did is to get an Owners' Locker (we are DVC members, so it will come in handy anyway), and I took a lot of stuff that was done early down in May and put it in the locker, and did the same during my September trip.

ETA: we are shopping for a lot of the food items, like water bottles, granola bars & mickey pretzels once we get to Orlando so that we don't have to transport that stuff.

Cam-
This is just an idea.... but I read that you may pack a bunch of your wedding stuff in a really large suitcase. Here is my 2 cents for you shipping everything down there ahead of time. Can you imagine how nervous/excited, but nervous you will be your flight down, trying to manage your very fluffy wedding gown and your other bags, without having to also constantly worry about your "important wedding stuff" in a checked-in piece of luggage! Have you ever seen how airline employees handle the luggage?:scared:

Just my 2 cents. If you have an option to ship, or a friend who can get more stuff into your "vault" I would recommend that. You are going to want to enjoy every moment with Howard with this FTVR, starting with the flight down. My advice, shoot for "no worries."

Morning Cam - I was just wondering how many bottles of dye you used to dye your crinnie? Was one bottle enough? I am hoping to dye mine red this week and I was wondering how many bottles I should buy.

Thanks,
Linda

I agree that I have to eliminate all stress possible. I am shipping my gown, Jenn's dress & my crinoline early to Carolyn Allen's, so I am hoping that takes all those huge worries off my mind. Since 5 of us are flying together, I am pretty confident we will be able to spare one of the large suitcases for lots of the completed projects, but I also know Beach Club is fabulous about receiving packages for guests and taking good care of them. I guess as it gets closer, we will see what is left to take down. I think all the "large" stuff is done, project-wise, except for the 2 hospitality baskets for the restrooms at the reception. Everything else that is left is paper (programs, table-numbers, etc) and CDs of music. I'm pleased that we are in pretty good shape.

Linda -- I only used one bottle and it came out the exact color on the label of the bottle. I hope that helps. Have fun dye-ing!! (Did the crinnie arrive yet?)

Thanks for the info about the dying. The crinnie should arrive by Wednesday and I want to dye it Thursday because Saturday my girlfriends are coming to see my dress and get their "bustle lesson" and I am going to a party on Friday night. I'll let you know how it comes out.

Hey Linda....Not Cam, but I dyed my Crinnie Hot Pink and used 3 boxes. With a dark color you are going to want a high saturation!

Thanks - I am planning on dying it red - maybe I should buy a few bottles and return the extra if I don't use them. Maybe I would start out with two bottles in the wash and see how it looks. I guess I could also dye it again if it is too light. Does it dry lighter or darker then the color when it is just dyed (I would think lighter).

Linda

My darling friend Judy knew I was self-conscious about one of my favorite pix and "fixed" it for me. So, now you all get to see the wonderful and beautiful Ana and Lili who worked their magic on me for my hair and makeup trial a month ago!
