We are now definitely going to be at WDW over Christmas (Dec. 19-26) :bounce:
Have 2 AP ressies and trying to decide: AKL concierge vs. standard room at BC.
What is a good standard view at the BC now that the BC villas are there?? We have stayed at BC but it's been a few years. . .
We would like a quiet garden/woods view. Do these still exist?? Or would it be better to go with a standard YC room?

Also, I inquired about concierge rooms at YC/BC and I was told that standard view rooms would only accomodate 4 people - that you had to reserve waterview concierge to get the daybed and room for 5!! What's up with that? Is that something new or has it always been a fact? I called back and a 2nd CM told me the same thing!

p.s. -
How do YC and BC concierge compare? What are the offerings and how nice are the lounges?
Any info greatly appreciated :D

The side of BC that faces Epcot is still pretty much all woods if that is what you are looking for, just note it on your reservation.

Can't help you with the concierge question.

Now, I'm confused!! When we stayed in concierge last year at the YC, we had a standard view, and no daybed, but I thought that was because we had a corner room.

This year we stayed in regular standard, and it DID have a daybed. This is just in concierge? Seems like you should get the daybed regardless for how much more you are paying!:(

Most of the standard rooms have daybeds that I have stayed in at Beach. (I have only stayed in Waterview at Yacht)
I do not know about concierge I have not been lucky ($$$$) enough to stay there!! :D
Have a great time planning your stay!

We had a waterview concierge last year (rm 5161) and it was two queens and a daybed.

Keeping my fingers crossed that we get the same room this year!!! The view was fabulous !!!

The rooms I was told could only accomodate 4 are the standard view concierge rooms, not the regular concierge rooms. If this is so, it really gripes me! It seems to imply that if you want to stay in concierge, you are willing to pay the premium (:earseek:) for a waterview concierge room. Seems crazy that we could reserve a standard room for 5, but not a standard view concierge room! (Hope that all made sense).

What type of room would I request in order to have a good view of EPCOT and illuminations?

Haven't decided between YC or BC yet, but was leaning toward BC until I started reading about the renovations planned at BC (this is for a February trip). We have stayed at YC in the past and wanted to try BC, but don't want to deal with the noise and mess.

Hi grumpyandbashful!
the cm who told you that was wrong. They Y&B club do have standard rooms that have daybeds! you do not have to stay concierge to fit 5 in a room. with the new renovations at the Y&B, they are adding more daybeds even than they have currently.

If you are thinking of staying concierge, I highly recommend it at the YC! the staff at the conicerge is amazing, they will treat you so nicely, and help with any arrangemnets you want. the lounge was just expanded and made even more beautiful!
the food is wonderful, very extensive variety. the rooms are gorgeous, just redone!

I sent you a PM!

Laura :)

I think I've been confusing everybody. After 3 calls to CRO, one to the BC front desk, and then one more this morning to CRO again (guest relations person), I have been told that you cannot stay in a BC garden view concierge room with 5, but that you can stay in a YC garden view concierge room with 5. You can stay in a BC waterview concierge with 5. I was hoping to get a BC concierge room for us for over Christmas, but I don't want to spend the extra money for the waterview.
This was frustrating for me, because when I called the BC front desk, the nice CM there told me that "of course" we could stay in a garden view concierge room there with 5, because they have 2 queens and a daybed.
Anyway, I'm frustrated now. Currently we are holding 2 ressies - one for AKL concierge and one for a standard room at the BC (not concierge). We got a great deal on airfare, so I'm trying to decide if I can justify waterview concierge at the BC. I know YC is beautiful, and we could get a garden view concierge room there, but it is a little too "stuffy" for us and we would prefer the BC.
