So far, so good! We're not expecting to see any wind and rain til later in the day. Right now, Ike is right on top of where Mark Barbieri lives ... north of Houston. Keep their family in your prayers. Their neighbor had a 80' pine tree fall on their house.

I'm in Spring, just north of Houston, and about 70 miles from the coast. We lost power at 4:00 this morning. Fortunately we have a generator, laptop, and wireless internet. No major damage this morning, knock on wood. The neighbors have lost a couple of pine trees.

On the bright side.... I got a lot of swap stuff started and done yesterday.

Austin is fine! We are getting a little bit of wind and probably won't get any rain. We NEED it too. We heard from my brother this morning in Cypress (northwest Houston) and he seems to be ok.

Ike is still here. He's kind of like a bad houseguest! We are on the tail end now, but there is still plenty of rain and lots of wind. We're hoping that the weather will calm down a little this afternoon. Thanks to everyone for your good thoughts and pixie dust! So far, it's working!

We are getting rain and light wind right now-Fort Worth area. But it seems like it has rained all week here! Or at least every time DS was about to mow......

My sister lives in Cypress. She lost a couple of large tree limbs and one smaller tree but the house is OK.

My SIL elaborated a bit more (boys! not good for details)- their house is perfectly fine, but she said the neighborhood is littered with tree limbs, signs that are down, stop signs broken. DNiece's school lost the coverings that went over the playground that the PTA just bought.
