I remember I just bought a bagel and peanut butter the night before so not sure really what was open.

Question about booking rooms.... I have a room booked through Run Disney right now, room only but I realized after booking that they still gave me the basic "package" which is not really what I wanted/thought I was getting...

If a discount comes out later, can I apply that to a reservation through events/Run Disney? Or because it's a special event package, can no discounts be applied?

Last year to get the discounts I had to cancel my RunDisney hotel package reservation and rebook through regular Disney. It was a pain. I won't book through runDisney again.

Same here - we stayed at AoA and their food court was not open that early. There are some resorts that do have special hours, but AoA wasn't one of them, and it was Marathon weekend, so all resorts were host resorts.

When I called runDisney last week to book my room, I was told no discounts could be applied since it is booked through the sports line, but if I booked through the regular reservation line I could then apply discounts whenever they come out (so obviously I booked through the regular reservation line!! And they told me the same thing.)

^^^ sounds like they're still doing it this way. And it DOES seem like such a pain

When the food courts are closed, is that just the food-serving parts? Or are the seating areas/mug refill station/toaster/microwave etc. also closed at those times?

I wouldn't mind buying my breakfast the night before but I would love to be able to toast my bagel in the morning!!

My sister decided to go to PHM with me- and she's having me book CR !!! :cool1: So excited- first time to stay there!
You are sooo going to love CR...great location and nice amenities ! Just a short monorail ride away from kona cafe and tonga toast or coconut chicken with that great macadamia nut butter...yum !:)

Registered for Princess Half this morning. This will be my first runDisney event. Looks like I have A LOT of thread reading to do.

This is my first too, and I have learned a lot from all these threads! I feel more prepared :)

You know, I'm not sure about that - great question! I didn't even go in there, although looking back, I wish I had been able to toast my bagel!

Being a night owl in my experience (only talking values but imagine property wide) the doors were locked until posted hours open This is the time I have walked past and seen cleaning up and setting up crews in there on the 3rd shift Doing the rugs etc, so if I had to place a bet I would say no A dear friend works custodial at POP so I will ask her to confirm that and will post the answer

Hi everyone,

I did the PHM last year and just signed up for this one! The best part is that one of my best friends will be running with me. It was fine running solo last year, but got a little lonely.

My finish time was abysmal and my goal this year is to finish in 2:30. Last year I was nearly swept and it was terrible. When I left home I was doing 13.5mm, to this day I don't know how I got so far behind, but, I did get the fear put in me for this year, and my goal is 10 mm with 2-3 character stops.

Looking forward to chatting with you all!

Booked my room at CR today with a great rate! So freakin stoked to stay there!

I would LOVE to stay at CR, but almost $400 a night isn't going to cut it. Heck, I am freaking out that AoA is costing $400 for 2 nights. Call me cheep, but this little weekend trip is going to cost a fortune :scared:

13:20 is an awesome pace!
Don't worry about being Dead last! I was dead last in our school run in March. And while it sucked being last, I lapped all those people who didn't run at all. And I PR'ed too.

WISH motto:
DLF>DNF>>DNS (Dead Last Finish is better than Did Not Finish which greatly trumps Did Not Start)

Thank you for this! Yesterday was not a good run. It was my first time running outside without using the C25K and C210K interval prompts and I just felt dead. I think I'll keep using them since I push myself harder during run segments to finish each one. The only time I've run a full 5K without any walking was on the treadmill but I'm pretty sure they won't let me run the PHM on a treadmill. :)

I have a sugarsister paying for it. Lol. Too much for me too!

I am trying to get some information on breakfast the morning of the 1/2 marathon. The buffet is on Friday and I don't want to pay $120 for a bagel and banana at VIP tent. Does the resorts open the dining room, or offer food for runners the morning of? Runners will have to leave early from the the resort by 4am. Thank you.

When I ran in 2012, they sold boxed breakfasts the night before. I got mine at the Mara, I was staying at AKL. It had plenty of food in it, I believe a bagel, peanut butter, banana and possibly one more item. Hoping they provide them this time, they were great!
