That's awesome! I missed registration for the 1/2 in January so I assumed I'd have to wait until 2010 to aim for the Coast to Coast medal. I'm glad that the Princess 1/2 will qualify for the medal too.

By the way, I've been lurking awhile, but I think this is my first time posting on this thread. Hello everyone!!! I'm planning on doing both the 5k and the 1/2 in March although I haven't registered yet. (I was at WDW for the Expedition Everest Challenge and I'm not ready to give Disney more of my money yet.) I'll probably be staying at All Star Movies.

Hey hungrygreenhippo!!! Welcome to the thread and the wonderful world of Princess runners! How did you find expedition everest go? It'll be great to meet you :goodvibes

I love the thought of the coast to coast medal as well... I will probably have to wait at least a few years to do that, however.

Thanks for explaining that about the pink hats, Tracy. Makes sense. I have a headsweats hat that I wear on most of my out door walks. It is white and is the long bill style to keep the sun off my face. I also have a pale pink Under Armour that I also like. So, I will probably wear the pink UA for the Princess. I don't plan to dress up...

Now, how crazy do you guys think I will look in this beauty? Not to wear in Florida, but considering it for around here in the winter.

The flaps do fold either inside the hat or outside if one prefers. It is called the Elmer Fleece!

That looks like a cool hat. I may have to consider that one for around here.

Hi,
I'm new to all this but me and my 2 daughters along with my 2 granddaughters will be doing the 5K.
I am so looking forward to this experience. I have been working at speed walking and can do 5k in about 53 minutes. I am hoping to continue my regimen so that come January I will be ready. My girls are ready and my granddaughters will be in their strollers.
Wish us luck!

Sounds great - I hope y'all are working on some fun costumes for all 5 of you! Won't that be cute? Good luck with your training!

Thanks Kayci.
I'm sure my one daughter has some dress-up ideas already. We have been scanning the zazzle site and uploading some pics we think might work for coordinating tops. We're keeping all options open. Pleasing 5 girls is not an easy task. But, we'll see. We are attending the P & P party as well, so we need to get those ideas in gear too.
Right now I'm concentrating on getting mentally and physically prepared for the event. In fact, I'm on my way out to do my 5k walk for today.

Thanks for the link. So, if we do the Princess in March and the 1/2 in Sept. we would qualify for the Coast to Coast medal?

Supposedly. Some people claim it is official, but the website doesn't say anything. There is an Active discount code out there though. Check the weekly board. I think I saw it there.

From Jeff over on the weekly boards.

Coast to Coast is coming back, confirmed by the WDW Endurance Staff at the DL Half Expo table.

There is a discount of $15 (before Active.com service fees) if you use code RunDLRstg09 before 12/31/08 online. No mail in form posted on the Disney site.

Another code with the same $15.00 discount is RunDLR09.

You can not combine the two codes.

Hi everyone! Just checking in after returning from WDW and Race for the Taste 10k, where I am thrilled to report, I ran the whole thing! Not fast(1:11:22) but I am thrilled anyway! This was the first race longer than a 5k that I ran the whole way. My mom also finished! It was so hot and humid but lots of fun. Now I'm hoping to just keep building on those 6 miles and be ready for the Princess!

Congratulations!!!!
Great job.
Good luck to you and your Mom for the Princess race.

Brilliant- well done!!! That's such an awesome time and achievement for both you and your mum. Whoo you're well on your way to the princess.

Ran 8.5miles today which was my furthest for a while and very pleased to say it went ok :cool1: Still a long way to go, but hey.... plenty of time!

How is the weekend training going for everyone? I hope everyone had beautiful weather to take advantage of some outdoor training.

I had a good walk at the cemetery. I set my Garmin for 2 hours and went 8.69 miles in that time! :cool1: So, my pace was 13.8 minutes/mile. Not bad for a walker if I do say so myself!

gg--I think it is so awesome that you and your mom do this together! Will you be updating your signature picture?

Hey all,
Just got back from WDW and found a small little tiara thing I can wear and would go in right in from of my ponytail. I will not be doing an "outfit" but thought this would be nice and kinda princess-ish. It has a comb like thing and was at WDW. Same little ones they use at the bibbity bobbity thingy.

Take care all.

(Yes, the coast to coast is a nice piece of blingy hardware - I love mine and have it hanging on my TV right now. Hopin to get another on 2010.)

Tracy

Cool on the tiara! I am playing around with a simple costume idea, but it depends on finding a yellow running skirt - anyone seen any on line or in a major retailer. Yes - It's a snow white costume. Yellow running skirt with blue tech shirt and a thin red tank on top of it. Of course with a big red bow in my hair!

How is everyone's training going along. It's almost time to get "official" if you are using a 20 week plan!

I have to find some kind of tiara or something. I have very thin hair so I think I'm going to have to add something to my visor.
