Oh, i was thinking, maybe we should all wear LGMH ( Lime Green Mickey Heads) to the Expo on Friday, so we can recognize each other!

I would happily do up a design and post it here later tonight if there is any intrest!

Ohhhhh.. that sounds GOOD!!!! :woohoo: Where do they serve those?

And i wouldn't be so quick to dismiss it as an "eeyore" moment, it's your body telling you something - just gotta figure out what. ;) I really wish i could be more help.. :confused3

France babe! Everything good is in France. They also have a Grey Goose Lemon slushie! :cloud9: And crepes too!! :cloud9: :cloud9:

I know I should listen. It's just hard when everything has been fine so far. I talked with one of my doctors here at work and she said that I need to make sure I stretch out my hip flexer muscles by sitting on the floor, put my feet together almost indian style and lean forward while pushing down lightly on my knees so they almost touch the floor. I used to have to do this for dance so it make perfect sense. I sat in my office and did this a few minutes ago and could feel the strain in that hip. I am going to try it again tomorrow before my run. Today is my off day! :woohoo:

I have lot of LGMHs! They are all over our backpack and camera bag! You can see me a mile away. It's always funny to hear someone say "Hey LMGH! You must DIS!"

Christine you better come on Friday for our Expo Shopping meet!! Just think, if you wait until Sat all the good stuff might be gone! ;)

Ohhh.. i second going on Friday and then go back on Sat. with your friend..
You know us Dis'ers - we scarf up all the good deals!! LOL

I have never been to an expo...you shop there? What kind of stuff do they have? :confused3 No wonder Disney makes everyone pick up their own packets...

Shelley--you better listen to that hip. Glad you had a docor on call. If the stretching doesn't work, please don't risk aggravating it by continuing to run on it. Oh, and I love my Oakley's too. In fact, I have them perched on top of my head right now. I am also wearing a ball gown...but that is a whole 'nuther story.

Welcome Ashley!!! :cheer2:

Shirts and socks and skirts oh my!!! Christine you can find a lot of great deals at the Expo as well. Overstocks and limited edition stuff from merchants. I think the 3 skirt companies will be there- Atalanta Athleticwear (Skirt Goddess), Running Skirts, and Skirt Sports. They also usually have seminars about running, recovery, crosstraining and so forth. Lots to see and do!

You can even wear your ball gown too! ;)

Yup, what she said.. LOL

We had a good time at the Expo last year, We got our pics taken with Cindy and Prince Charming.

I am the one in green.

There is alot of shopping and great exhibits.. plus it was cool to get to see the WWOS.

Hey Everyone:

Has anybody seen or tried on the new Under Armour running shoes? I know they don't come out until January 31st but I wondered if any stores had ones to try on. My boyfriend and I are obsessed w/ Under Armour and I told him I'd buy him some for the Half Marathon. I hope I'm not disappointed! :rolleyes1

Welcome all the new dis'ers and Happy New Year to all!
Well we are all registered. I told DD 19 that she couldn't run when she came home with mono at Thanksgiving, but have changed my mind.

We will have to get a thread going on pace times. Mom (that's me) will slow my pace so my DD's (ages 18 and 20) can keep up. Yes I play that up. SO..we are going for 2 1/2 hour to finish. Just under a 12 min mile pace. I got the girls tickets. I'm going down early with my DH so we can celebrate our 25 years anniversary (on 3/3).

Hope everyone is getting in those training run/walks and staying healthy.

New Race Course Posted!!!

I was just checking out the official site and they've posted a couple new things, including... the new course. Here's a direct link to it:
http://adisneyworldsports.disney.go.com/media/dwws_v0222/en_US/pdf/09NEWPrincessHalfMapweb.jpg

On the plus side it now goes through the castle, but on the down side it looks like there's a lot less park time. I think I would have preferred the old course. But this will be my first 1/2 at Disney so I'm sure it'll still be fantastic no matter what.

They also announced the new "Happily Ever After Party" at Hollywood Studios which is the replacement for the P&P Party.

I am definitely interested!!!! That would be awesome. If I don't wear a custom shirt, I'll wear my WISH lime green visor.

I like the old course better too, way more park time! I feel bad for those doing the January 1/2 and the Princess half as it is almost identical! Being my first Disney 1/2 it won't matter a whole lot to me but I'll think about how we could have been running through the other parks on the long boring stretches LOL!

Also Disney Hollywood Studios is our least favorite park so moving the party from the Magic Kingdom will definitely be less exciting for my kids. I'm not really impressed by the changes, you pay for one thing and get another!

I'm sure my excitement will return to it's 'over the top' level in the next few days though!

I probably am going to check into getting my money reimbursed for the party. Hollywood Studios is our least favorite park as well. We don't do TOT or RNRC. I can't see myself enjoying these after running a half marathon even if I did usually ride them. I was looking forward to spending the evening at Magic Kingdom. There are so many low key rides that I would enjoy. There is just so little that we would do at Hollywood Studios to warrant the extra expense.

Since this is my first Disney race, I am happy with the course going through Magic Kingdom.

Man.... gotta say, i am bummed too. This new course is WAY less park time, seems like mostly roads -- where we will be lucky to see anything..

I haven't read up yet on the party, but that is a bummer too.. i just made lunch ressies at Sci-Fi thinking we would go to HS on an "off day" to do the rides and such - i know we won't want to go twice.. ugh.. what to do..... back to the drawing board..

I know we had late dinner reservations in the Magic Kingdom at Tony's and now I'll have to rethink that and perhaps see what else we can get!

NEW! Exclusive, post-race Happily Ever After Party at Disney's Hollywood Studios™

Mickey's Pirate & Princess Party will no longer be taking place on Sunday, March 8 as originally scheduled. We will now be hosting an exclusive Princess Half Marathon Happily Ever After Party that evening at Disney's Hollywood Studios™. The party will be open only to Princess Half Marathon Weekend participants and their family and friends. Tickets for the Happily Ever After Party are available at the same price as the previously advertised discounted tickets for Mickey's Pirate & Princess Party. If you purchased Mickey's Pirate & Princess Party tickets for March 8, your purchase will now apply to the Happily Ever After Party and you will be contacted via email with more details.

And not to sound tired and cranky.. but WHY a Princess party at HS??? Last i knew, there was no castle there.. :(

A couple of things.. I don't know how to quote otherwise I would!

1. Caitsmama, It would be great if you came up with a design. That would be soo nice of you! I can laminate it and hang it on my stroller.

2. I haven't booked where I am going to stay yet. I am considering WL, but am not sure how easy or difficult it is to get to Epcot from WL. How are others getting to the race that aren't staying at the three resorts offering transportation?

Thanks in advance for anyone's help!

Pam

Hi Pam,

As for how to get to Epcot, well, at that hour of the a.m., if you aren't staying where the transportation is provided, you will have to rent a cab, or find someone to share a ride with. Regular WDW trans. doesn't run that early. Last time, we stayed at Grand Floridian and had to get to Epcot for the race, we took a cab, cost us approx. 16.00 or so.. with tip.
Only drawback was i thought it was awful how far away the cab had to drop us off from the start line! Felt like i already did a 5k before i got there!! LOL
