i'm looking for a good book on the history of presbyterianism, or presbyterianism in general. any suggestions?

TIA! :)

"How to Spell Presbyterian" That's what we used in communicants class. I've got another one at home. Can't remember the name, but I'll try to look it up tonight and let you know. Can I ask why you are looking for info?

What kind of Presbyterian? There are several presbyterian denominanations; "presbyterian" is the form of government each of the "presbyterian" denominations uses. There's PCA (Presbyterian Church in America), PCUSA (Presbyterian Church United States of America), and Orthodox Pres, to name the three I know off the top of my head. As far as I know, the PCA and the OP have very similar doctrines, and the PCUSA is somewhat different.

Here's a web page for the PCA: http://www.pcanet.org

barb - i would like more info about all denominations. specifically, i would be interested in the history of the different sects and how presbyterianism was "founded" (for lack of a better word). :)

wtpclc - it's for some research i am doing. :)

i really appreciate any info. :)

The two books which serve as the constitution of the Presbyterian Church, USA and guide its' leaders are 'The Book of Confessions" and 'Book of Order." Any elder at any Presbyterian USA hurch should have copies of each of these.
