Just wanted to report some good news....just back and NOBODY got sick!! We did use sanitizer a bit, but didn't go nuts, we held railings, ate at buffets, kids had hands all over....and we made it out just fine!! Just wanted to calm anyone's fears about getting sick, as I have seen so many posts about illness....of course you have to be careful and wash hands, but I know I was SOOO stressed about getting sick so wanted to let any others like me know not to worry so much!!:goodvibes

Glad everyone is fine. Thank you for making a POSITIVE post. Too many posts are negative in my opinion.

Good to know! Glad you had a good trip! When we went for Christmas, I got sick with a stomach bug the very last night we were there. :sad2: At least I made it through most of the trip, though! But, it wasn't fun waiting at the airport or on the plane ride home the next day.

I am a germaphobic, too! I wipe down the door handles, light switches, remote, phone, etc. with disinfecting wipes when we arrive in our room. I also lysol the bed covers, chairs, etc. My husband thinks I am nuts! But, one time a few years ago, we spent almost half our trip sick with a stomach bug, so I try to be more careful now!

I'm glad to hear there are others like me :) I have gone a few times and it seems like it is hit or miss with the sickness. I never thought of taking Lysol before though so that has been added to my packing list! Thanks

I'm a little germ obsessed. We all came back healthy (so far) and I have a 3 yr old that likes to suck his thumb when he is tired. I used sanitizing gel in the parks- not after every ride but a few times while in the parks. We ate at two buffets, too (shiver). It was a 7 night stay- came back yesterday. BUT there were families there who arrived and had colds, . I also use Lysol wipes when I get into the hotel to wipe down switches, phones, bathroom areas. And I'm really on the kids about washing hands... There was someone at the Beach Club who had a stomach bug a few doors down from us...

We've been to WDW plenty of times and came back a little under the weather. Our last trip was during the height of the swine flu scare and I was determined not to come home with the dreaded bug. I washed my hands at least 6 times a day and used the sanitizer in between times. I didn't get sick, but DW (who did not follow the mega wash regimen) had a few symptoms when we returned home.

I would say it's a small sacrifice to make to stay healthy, but it's not even a sacrifice. It's kind of refreshing to run some soap & water over your hands at WDW. :earsboy:
