Hello all!

sandy - how was your do nothing day? That's funny about the Wii Fit!! :rotfl2:

sam - Was the house clean? How was the new room mate?

I saw 3 patients today and didn't discharge a single one! It wasn't a bad day though. I only worked about 3 hours. I will have to work tomorrow but it will be very short. One of the other nurses and I will split the patients and be done in a couple of hours! Then off to New Orleans!!

See ya'll in the morning!

My wife doesnt post here..(too busy,:lmao: ) but thats what she says.
As a Professional firefighter...I know she supports me and loves what i do for a Profession.

Morning all!

Welcome edwardsfire! How long have you been a professional FF? You are always welcome to pop in!

sandy - Hi!! Do you have big plans for day 2 of your 4 day weekend?

sam - Hi!

I'm off to work!!

Yesterday was such a great day!!!
I played Wii Fit for over an hour, and then the whole family did Wii Bowling, and then Kevin and I played Wii Golf for quite awhile :) Finally at 3pm, I decided I needed to sit down and veg out, so I got some food, and put in Prince Caspian - great movie!!!!! Then after that, we watched PoTC 3, while eating some more :teeth: It was a great lazy day!!!!!

Today I am taking down Christmas decorations :guilty: I hate doing this, because I hate having Christmas be over. I love how the house looks when it's all decorated, and I love how everyone is so excited for the holidays when they are up. Once the decorations are down, everything looks so boring:guilty:

Karen - Have fun tonight and tomorrow :cool1:

edwardsfire - :welcome:
Even though you aren't a wife, please come by and visit anytime - we would love to have you!!!!!:goodvibes

Well, I'm off to eat some breakfast, and start tearing down the Christmas decorations.
Have a good day today everyone!!!

I love the career. I am also a Medic.
Thank you for the invite.

Hello all!

***HAPPY NEW YEAR***

I hope all of my friends here have a wonderful, happy and healthy new year!

My new year did not start off very good. I came down with a stomach virus at 11 p.m. on new year's eve. I did manage to get my head out of the toilet long enough for a new year's family toast at midnight. Our traditional toast is with Welch's sparkling grape juice but I opted for ginger ale. And DD called at 12:01 a.m. just as she has done every year since she moved away!

The stomach virus has officially made the rounds through the whole family this week - DH started Sunday, Matthew and A.J. both started on Tuesday, I started Wednesday night and Andrew started yesterday (he was lucky though - he only had a VERY mild case of it - we told him it was just a sympathy virus! :lmao: ) I'm looking at this on the positive side - maybe being sick at the beginning of the new year means that the rest of the year will be a healthy one!

***edwardsfire*** Nice to "meet" you.

***Sandy*** Sounds like you're enjoying Wii Fit. I had thought about getting it. You make me want to now! I loved the Christmas picture of the girls. They are getting so big and they're both so pretty! I'm doing the same thing today that you're doing - undecorating! Not only that, right before I got sick we pulled down ALL of the boxes from the attic that were Christmas related and I'm reorganizing and repacking all of it. You can ask me in March if I got it done! :rotfl: Seriously, though, I have to get it done before the weekend is over because all of the boxes are in the middle of my living room floor. At least I am off work until Monday.

***Karen*** Hope you had a great time in New Orleans!

One of my new year's resolutions (and I do have quite a few :teeth:) is to drop by here more often! I always stop by and read but just don't post! I'm going to try to stop by and "talk" a little more often!

Hope everyone has a great day!

I had a good and productive day off yesterday:)
I finally went and renewed my drivers license - I'm glad to have that done!!!
Went to Aldis, which was crazy crowded, the most crowded I've ever seen it.
Got the Christmas decorations downs (I'm putting them in the boxes today), did some laundry, and made and Italian meal - like I said, it was a very positive, productive day!!!! :teeth:

Kathy - I'm sorry you had a yucky New Year, and I'm sorry to hear all your family was sick too :guilty: I hope you are right about being sick now, means you won't be sick later. How are you feeling now? Those types of sicknesses always make me feel bad for days and days - it just takes so much out of me:guilty: I hope you are starting to feel better:wizard:
**We would love to see you more in 2009 - we miss you!!!!:grouphug:
**Are you still on TLP thread? I haven't been on there in forever. If you still go there, and if alot of the same people hang out there, please tell them I said "Hi!"

Karen - I hope you are having fun in New Orleans!!!:cool1:

CB - I hope you are enjoying your time home:goodvibes

Well, I need to get the girls up and ready to go - their grandma (my MIL) is coming to get them to take them for the day:woohoo: I hate to seem so happy, but it'll be nice to finish putting away all these decorations w/o them being underfoot:)

Have a good day today!!!

Hi everyone!

Wow! I'm posting on here two days in a row! Just like old times!

Sandy - Thanks for the well wishes! I'm not feeling too bad, considering. The worst part is my ribs, it hurts to cough or take a deep breath from all the, well, you know! :lmao: I do still post on the LTP thread a lot but it's not the way it used to be. We all still post but not nearly as much. I miss the good old days when someone was always on there! I'll tell them all you said hi!

CB - Are you enjoying your time home?

I got quite a bit of undecorating done yesterday but not as much as I wanted to. I wore out earlier than I had hoped to. But I'll get it done today...I hope!

Hope everyone enjoys their Saturday!

Hello everyone!

eeyore - so glad you are back! I am glad you feel better! Take it easy & get lots of rest!

sam - Hi!

sandy - Hi! You go Wii Fit Queen!! You are going to be burning all kinds of calories!

We had a good time in New Orleans. Not the outcome we hoped for on the game, but it was still a good time. Our hotel was great (so much better than the awful place we stayed at for the bowl game last year). We spent some time with Sarah & her friends, but mostly it was just me & Jim.

I did go weigh in before I left. I gained one pound in the 3 weeks around the holidays. Better than I thought, but I have hit a plateau. I haven't been to the gym once since Sarah came home, so I have got to get back! I don't want to cut out anymore calories, so I will have to move more!!

Have a great day! I hope the weather is better where you all are - lots of thunderstorms here!!

This is day 3 of removing the Christmas decorations.
Yesterday was successful with getting all boxes down from the attic, putting away everything into the boxes, and then getting the boxes back into the attic. Today I need to take down all window and mirror decorations (stickies, gellies, and mini stained glasses), and then vaccuum and dust - then it will finally be done :faint: It's such a long process!!!!

What are you all doing today????

Kathy - We love seeing you 2 days in a row :grouphug:
**That's the worst when you are sore after being sick. I hope that goes away soon:wizard:
**Was someone on TLP part of the mass banning? Who was it? I miss so many people from that banning :sad1:
**Have you had a lot of snow by you this year? The weather guy was talking about us getting snow later this week, and this is what made me think to ask:)

Karen - I do love the Wii Fit, I have so much fun on it :) I"m not sure how many calories I'm burning on it, because I don't get my heart rate up that much. But I'm moving the whole time while using it, and I guess that's what matters:thumbsup2 I haven't done my normal exercise program since the beginning of December, and I've been eating everything in site (this is because I'm going back to how I normally eat tomorrow (which, you know, I'm pretty particular in what I eat) so I'm enjoying my final days of pigging out  According to Wii Fit though I've lost 2.6 pounds since 12/28 - I don't know how, but I'll take it!!!!!:rotfl2: I can hardly wait until the time change so I can go out and walk again - I miss it so much!!!!!!!:guilty: Good luck to you with going back to the gym - it's hard to get back into the swing of things:wizard: I know it'll be hard for me to get back into the swing of working out every morning, but once I get back on track, it won't be hard anymore - I"m sure it'll be that way for you too ::yes::
**I'm glad you had fun in New Orleans - it's always so much fun to get away:goodvibes
**When does Sarah go back to school :teacher:
**The weather here has not been to bad - mid 30's during the day and then colder at night. But the weather guy is saying right now that we are going to have a lot of wind today, and the temps are going to fall all day. It'll be a womping 13 degrees tonight :cold: I hate winter!!!!!

Well, I'm off to finish putting these decorations away so I can chill out the rest of the day. I hope you all have a good Sunday

Well, it's back to the ol' grind stone:upsidedow
I really enjoyed this break, and not my break from work, but break from Stephanie going to school. I'm so not looking forward to fighting about homework again, and the mad dash in the morning. Oh well, it's gotta be done:rolleyes:

This morning I'm starting my workout program again - I've been on vacation from that for way to long. As difficult it will be to get motivated after a month off, it'll feel good to get moving again. I sleep so much better when I work out, and I noticed that I'm not sleeping as well, so I"m looking forward to that:thumbsup2

I had a very successful day yesterday:)
Christmas is officially down and gone in this house, and Valentives Day has officially begun:thumbsup2 I wasn't sure if I should put my Valentines Day clings and gellies up already, but I knew if I didn't do it now, than it probably won't get done at all (like last year). I was also able to get mountains of laundry done, and did a decent amount of cleaning - it was a good day!!!!!:thumbsup2

Well, it's time for me to get ready to workout.
Have a great day today everyone!!

good morning friends! Sarah went back to Tuscaloosa yesterday. :sad1: James & Emily head back to school today, so my house is not peaceful and calm this morning. We have lots of grumbling!! James always gets intense the night before going back and can't sleep. He just gets more & more upset, so he got in bed with me and Jim around 10. Somewhere during the night Jim left and went to James' bed. I think James is the only one who slept well out of the three of us! Emi has no such problems and slept great!

sandy - how did the workout go? I need to get going again!

sam - how are you?

eeyore - come back by!

Well, I am off to get ready for work!

No workout's this morning.
My MIL had Katie take a nap yesterday (when I've told her not to:headache: ) and had issues with sleeping. She couldn't fall asleep last night, and was still awake when I went to bed at 10:15pm, and then she woke me up at 4:30am telling me couldn't sleep:guilty: So instead of getting up to workout, I had her come lay in bed with me, hoping she would go back to sleep - she didn't:sad2: I've explained to my MIL that when she naps, she can't sleep well at night, but for some reason, she doesn't want to respect that, and puts her down for a nap anyway:headache:

Karen - Isn't it weird when everyone is gone from the house. It's peaceful, but so cold and empty feeling at the same time - it's weird!!!! When does Sarah come back home? Is she going anywhere for spring break?
**I'm sorry to hear about how James gets before school resumes:guilty: Do you think it's stress? I hope he has a better night tonight:wizard:

Well, I gotta run and get Steph off to school:teacher: Sorry I don't have much time to post this morning.
Have a good day today!!!

wow its been busy around here!

i got home on new years eve at about 9:30 after a stressful plane ride. 3 plane rides actually. I stopped in new orleans, las vegas, and then finally in sacramento. it ended up to be over a 10 hour trip. When i got home I got to be introduced to the new guy friendly house, aka guys with video games in their underwear. that part didnt bother me, it was the kitchen and floors that I couldnt even look at for more than a split second. I had to divert my eyes because it was so dirty! Just little stuff, not piles of dishes. So i played rock band with them a little and went to be without getting any unpacking done.

the next morning I slept in and the first thing i did was get up and clean the entire bathroom that me and marc use. I wanted it to be clean before i moved all my stuff back into it. Then I cleaned up some of the bedroom mess thats been there since I left and was able to unpack some of my stuff. I went to apply for a job at dominos (my school bookstore had budget cuts and had to lay off students) then immediately afterward left to go home to visalia. I spent the weekend with my grandma, papa, mom, dad, and my great aunts and uncles from southern california. We had christmas on saturday, and had a great weekend together. On sunday my mom and grandma went with me to find a coat. Im freezing since I got back here and its really only in the 40's I picked out a long peacoat, but i have to wait for it to be mailed to me. so this is me until then:cold:

i finally got home sunday night and still didnt get to unpack anything. School the next morning and in the afternoon I was able to come home and organize. I got everything put away and unpacked. We went to the grocery store, since im home and someone will actually be cooking. ;) Once we got home and put stuff away i was set into one of my cleaning sprees. I spent almost 2 hours cleaning everything in the kitchen. I cleared the table, new table cloth. threw out what seemed like 15 pizza boxes. scrubbed all appliances, surfaces, fridge, walls, etc. Bleached the trash cans, and swept and scrubbed the entire floor. then i moved into the bedroom to clean out all my drawers and throw out old unused clothes. I got everything hung and organized, and was actually able to arrange my shadow box with stuff from my trip to florida, which im very happy about. If i dont do it right away it will never get done. Im also very happy that we brought the cats home from my moms house and they seem very happy to be back. they usually act very shy and scared, but are being very outgoing and comfortable!

Marc also got a call this morning and will be going to his first day at the station on thursday! Theyre just having a meeting to decide what shift they will be on etc, and it sounds like there are 2 other new recruits. Marc is very very excited. Hes been sitting around for 2 weeks waiting for his background check to get done. (woman was on vacation) Hes really antsy to get started.

So thats about all of whats been going on since I got home! I hope everyone else is staying healthy or at least recovering. Now that I have time to breath i will hopefully be on more often!

Katie's sleep schedule was back on track last night - thank goodness!!! In fact, she went right to sleep because she was so tired of not having her normal sleep last night:thumbsup2

Sam - Holy cow, you've been busy since you've been home :faint: I'm sorry about Marc leaving a mess for you :guilty: I bet he is so glad to have you home:goodvibes Good luck to him at the FD :wizard: I hope he had an awesome first day:wizard: Good luck to you also for finding a job :wizard: How many classes are you taking this semester? I forget, what is your major?

Karen and Kathy - :wave2:

Well, I'm off to workout - have a good day!!!

Morning all! James did not sleep well again last night. It is stress! We went to the GMAC Bowl (Tulsa vs. Ball State) but left at halftime, so he was in bed at his regular bedtime. Hopefully he will settle down soon. Sarah got a job her first day home. She will be waitressing at a sandwich shop.

Sam - I bet you are beat!! Tell me more about what Marc's schedule will be once he starts with this FD. I know you must have been frustrated by the mess since they said they were cleaning up for you! What did it look like before they cleaned?:rotfl:

Sandy - I'm sorry about Katie! That must be a frustrating situation for you. Did you work out today? It is my goal to go to the gym after work.

Kathy - Hi!

See ya'll later!

the mess the buys left was mostly the once in a while type of cleaning. such as sweeping vacuuming etc. My first thought was...what was it like before they cleaned?! supposedly what they did was run around picking up cans and bottles and other trash. Today I completely rearranged the second living room so its livable and i vacuumed the other living room and picked up a little. I was afraid to touch anything because theres tons of cords and computer stuff. (they're building new computers) But i think theyre happy with the outcome of everything. Marc said it just needed a womans touch, which made me feel useful at least. :rotfl:

Im a wildlife conservation major and right now im taking organic chemistry, biology, statistics, and habitat restoration. Im enjoying them a lot so far if i manage to stay awake.:surfweb:

Marc left today to go back to visalia. tomorrow hes going to be getting all of the detailed information about his shifts etc. As far as we know so far hes going to have 48 hours on and 96 off. the hard part is going to be all of the travel time to go back and forth between davis and visalia/porterville where the station is.

have a great weekend! Im having my high school friends over this weekend:banana: and the girls will be showing up tomorrow night, so chances are I wont be on for a few days again. Have fun!:wizard:

:surfweb:
I'm posting late for me - I just couldn't get up this morning. I wanted to get up and workout, but I'm so sore from yesterday's workout that I just couldn't do it. So, I stayed in bed a little longer than normal. It was funny....Stephanie noticed, when her alarm went off, that I was still in bed, and she rushed into my room and asked why I was still there. I told her why, and she lowered her head, turned around and started walking away, and she said lowly, "I still have to go to school today". She thought she had a snow day:laughing:

Karen - How was James last night? I hope he went to bed a little easier. Does he stress easily, or does he have something major, at school, that he's currently stressing about? My mom stresses very easily, and I often feel bad for her, because she's always worried about something. I hope James is feeling better:wizard: :wizard:
**I did workout yesterday - alot!!
I did my Biggest Loser workout - 25 minutes
I did my 2 mile Walking workout - 35 mintues
Then I shoveled our long driveway - 1/2 hour
I burned alot of calories yesterday:thumbsup2

Sam - Your major sounds really awesome:) Have you followed Steve and Terri Erwins work? I was so sad when he died, and in fact, Stephanie still doesn't know of his death - she would be to sad (she doesn't handle death well). He really was an amazing man, and I really admired him for all his work. I haven't followed Terri much after Steve died, but I know she is as passionate about wildlife conservation as he was.
**Have fun with your friends this weekend :cool1:

Well, it's time for me to get some breakfast in Stephanie
Have a good day!!!

:surfweb:

Sorry I didn't check in yesterday :guilty:

We are living in a winter wonderland around here. We've been getting some snow everyday, but last night we got quite a bit. I normally go out and shovel during the week (so Kevin doesn't have to do anything when he comes home), but this morning he went out and snowblowed :thumbsup2 (I could learn how to use the snowblower, but I like the exercise I get when I shovel). It suppossed to snow for most of the day, and then the temps are going to drop. Thursday we are going to have a high of -1  Yep, you heard me right -1 :cold:  I HATE WINTER!!!!!

Yesterday I took the girls to the Pediatrician so Katie could have her 5yr check up, and I'm proud to say that she was awesome for her 2 shots. She didn't shed a tear:) Stephanie needed her right hear checked on, because it's still draining (I don't know if you remember, but last February she had her tear surgically removed), and we found out that she is going to need a 3rd surgery on that ear :faint: The hole the tube left didn't heal itself properly, and the ENT is going to need to patch it up. Her and I are so tired of this ear trouble, but hopefully this will be the last surgery - we need to go see the ENT to make the final plans. The doctor said Katie's ears look beautiful, so that was good news. Both tubes have fallen out, and there's no worries there:thumbsup2

Last night Stephanie and I went to special Mass at church dedicated to those that volunteer their services to the parish (it was invitation only to those that volunteer). After the Mass there was fellowship with fingerfoods and dessert (donated and made by a fellow parishinor). It was nice to visit with many people that I don't see very often, because they volunteer at a different Mass time then us. It was a nice night!!!!:goodvibes

I'm not sure what is going on today.
I'm pretty sure we may be staying home (I don't know if I want to go out into the snow), but I need to be work ready in case they need me unexpectedly. I live less than a mile away, so if I need to come in to answer a question, that can't be answered over the phone, than I need to be prepared. I don't know how busy they'll be today though with the snow - snow always keeps people home.

Well, I'm off to make Katie and I some breakfast - have a good day everyone!!

Hello all! I am feeling better today. I had been achy & puny for a couple of days & took Friday off. I took Emi to a cheer competition today. Her squad looked GREAT and took first in their division. The 7 other squads from our gym did well also. It was a good day. We have another competition next weekend.

sandy - Good for Katie!!:thumbsup2 Which shots did she get? I hate that Steph will have to have another surgery!:sad2: I know you will be glad when it is all resolved! I envy your snow! I think I would like it for about a day! We were in the high 70's last week! I think it is supposed to cool off next week.

sam - Hi!!

Kathy - Hi!!

See ya'll tomorrow!
