Good Monday morning everyone!!!! :surfweb:

Tomorrow is my next big test for school, so I'm studying, studying, and studying some more. I'm looking forward to this test getting over with so I can stop stressing out about it  .

eeyore - I was surprised to see you this early. I thought I was the only one that got up this early :)
*I got your PM, and I will PM you back soon.
*We really do have fun family parties :cool1: I'm so grateful that everyone gets along so well. This party was a little sad w/o my Grandma here though. She would always come a little early and help me set things up. I had to just keep telling myself the same thing that I told Stephanie and that was, "Even though we can't see her and touch her, she is still here with us."
*I'm glad the LTP move went well. Were guys surprised when you were moved to the subboard - I was.
*Wow, you have a big distance to drive. It makes my drive look like a nothing
*I'm glad your DD is doing well and is moving somewhere better. I will PM you back soon.
*The class is going fast - I can't believe it's almost 2/3 of way done. I am going to start interviewing with some brokers to see who I want to go with. I am also going to send my resume to a couple of builders in the area to see if they need anyone in their new developments to sell new construction. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. I'm also not sure if I'm going to stay at the store or not. I would feel bad leaving them before X-Mas, but I also have think what's best for me. I'm in a real state of confusion right now.
*I'm glad the mediciane is working for your gout. It's to bad you have to be on your feet so much today - sending lots of PD so you won't be in to much pain :wizard:
*AJ sounds so sweet!!!! I'm glad he's still collecting FD things - when we have anything new, I will send it to him.

Am_I_There_Yet - If you haven't guessed, I'm going to school right now to get my Real Estate salesperson license. How long have you been doing this? Do you like it?

Idroveallnight - Holy cow you've been busy!!!! I'm tired just thinking about it. Thanks for telling me I don't look old - I sure feel like I do when you can see all the grey hair in my roots  I greyed very very early. Enjoy your last couple of weeks with Sarah - I can't believe August 13th is just around the corner. Where did summer go????? :confused3

Mad4Mickey - I'm so glad to see you!!! When does Derrick leave for school? How did he do at his wrestling match you were telling me about? I hope he did well.

Well, I gotta run and get ready for work - have a good day today everyone!!

No! I didn't know that! I knew you were taking a finance course, but it never dawned on me that it would be a part of an RE course. Duh.

I've selling real estate for about four years now. I've also sold new homes for a builder. I HATED doing that, and much prefer the resale market, even if the money isn't as good.

You'll never guess who I work with the most???? :teeth:

We go back to school August 15. I move Sarah into the dorm on the 13th! It's going to be different without her! Keep your fingers crossed that I don't shove her in the trunk and bring her back home!

Have a great week!!

It's been a roller coaster for me, since Brittani left on Friday. I understand!

She called me crying as soon as she arrived at her new apartment. She'd been looking so forward to decorating it and having her own place and she called me bawling, telling me it looked like a dump.

There were code violations and all kinds of things wrong with it. Luckily my ex-DH is a plumbing contractor and his wife is a general contractor and they were there. They wrote everything up, including the 40 year old appliances and made them agree in writing to fix/replace everything, or she could get out of her lease.

It was so hard being way over in Beaumont and having her dealing with that, way over in Lubbock! I'm too much of a control freak!

Am I there Yet - I just noticed your doag's name is Chloe - I have a kitty named Chloe! :cat: How terrible that her apartment was icky! Hopefully they will fix everything. Sarah will be in a dorm - newly renovated at that! Her room is right across the hall from the bathroom. She is really excited.

slo - Good Luck on your test! I know you will do GREAT!! Here's some PD to help you have faith in your abilities! :wizard:

eeyore - I probably won't let Emily visit her too often! I know - selfish!! But sometimes moms need a place to talk to other moms without little eyes looking in. She was wondering if there was something like this for FF kids. I told her she should start one! Of course I will have to get you guys to tell us how...

Good evening everyone!!!!

I thought I would stop and say hi before I start studying.

If you don't mind me asking - why did you hate working for a builder? I was just wondering since I am going to be giving my resume to some in our area.

Who???? I'm dying to know :Pinkbounc

I am so sorry to hear this :guilty: It's so hard to see your child unhappy. Sending lots of hugs her way  and I hope things get easier for her. Sending lots of hugs to you too  and I hope things get easier for you with her away.

Well, for starters, you're never off on weekends. I thought I'd be able to handle that, since John's schedule is so erratic with the fire department.

My 16DD started having some issues and it became too much for me to be away from her. I wasn't getting home until 7:30pm each night.

The bad thing is, I lost about seven clients and it's been a struggle getting back into it. I did just get home from taking a listing though. :teeth:

I represent a lot of firefighters and it's a great niche. They're awesome to work with! Since I've married John, three other FF's have gotten their licenses too. You need to prepare yourself for that.

Everyone thinks it's easy and that the money is great, blah, blah, blah. They fail to remember the 75% dropout rate. It's there for a reason.

Good Tuesday morning everyone!!! :surfweb:

I wouldn't like that :sad2:

How many listings do you do a month (on average)? My plan is to start Real Estate slow in the beginning, with my girls being so young. Then when Stephanie is about 12, and can stay home alone with her sister, I would like to get alot more involved with my career. First I have to find a broker that wants me  From what I understand, that's not that hard to do :sad2:

That's great!!! After I get my license, and get with a broker, Kevin is going to make a real nice brochure about me and I'm going to give these to several people. Kevin will keep them at the FD (I would be the only one with a license there), and the rest of me family can take them to their works and extracurricular activities. I'm also going to give some to my really good current customers so they can give them to anyone they know that may need me (some of these people are quite wealthy and would be moving from expensive homes to a more expensive home).

Everyone thinks it's easy and that the money is great, blah, blah, blah. They fail to remember the 75% dropout rate. It's there for a reason.
I didn't even know there was a 75% dropout rate :sad2: That's a huge number!!

You'll never guess who I work with the most???? :teeth:
I'm still waiting on the edge of my seat about this :Pinkbounc Who is it???

Karen, Kathy, and Mishell - Hi there!!! :wave2:

Have a good day everyone!!!

LOL... I'm sorry, I was so busy when I was responding that I didn't cut and paste your original question before I answered it. I was referring to the firefighters. :teeth:

Sounds like you have a good plan! Start writting down every single person you know, because you're going to want to send out announcement letters to them when you get your license.

And no, it's not hard to find a broker, but you might have to look a little harder to find one that wants part-time agents. Do you have Keller Williams there? They're an excellent company that offers tons of on-going training.

I'm stopping by real fast to ask for some prayers for a family we know.

Kevin went on a call the other night for a 2 year old not breathing and unresponsive. The little girl is actually 20 months old, and she was reaching in a hope chest while she had animal crackers in her mouth. The lid of the chest fell on her head trapping her, and she inhaled the animal crackers in the process. The little girl was airlifted to a hospital in South Bend, and I just found out a short while ago, she's not going to make it.

This little girl is a twin, and the granddaughter of someone who lives across the street from my MIL and she also works with my MIL. This is such a tragic tragic thing that happened to this poor little girl, and I feel so sad for the family.

So please say a prayer for this family and hug your kids. This just shows how fast tragic accidents can happen.

Thanks for the congrats!!!! :goodvibes

Great picture of Sarah - she's a very pretty girl!!! :)

The only way I know how to make pictures smaller is through photobucket. You might find some more info on the tech support board. :)

I'm hoping that some of the FD guys will use my services too

I'm sure they will! They're a pretty loyal bunch. :thumbsup2

Yes we do. I didn't know they were a national company. I will check them out!!! Who do yo work for? Anyone I would be familiar with?

Do check out KW. I started out with them, moved to Re/Max and now I'm with an independent agency that was started by a bunch of ex-Re/Max agents.

Not selfish at all. I won't even let my DS on the disboards simply because it's "my" place and I don't want to feel like he's looking over my shoulder. (Although, half the time when I'm posting he's looking over my shoulder! :lmao: ) It's not like I'm hiding anything. It's just my place and my time!

Tell Emily she should try to start up a FF thread for kids. There are lots of threads geared just for kids and teens.
