Good morning everyone!!! :surfweb:

This is Stephanie's last morning of summer school :cheer2: We are both so excited. She's excited because she can now sleep in, and I'm excited because I can give my gas tank a break from all the driving back and forth (this school is not around the corner).

Idroveallnight - Steph's b-day is on Saturday, and we are having a family party on that day too. Steph asked if she could have her friend come over, and I told her she could (I think she is most excited about that). It should be a fun day!!!! :cool1: How fun that Emily wants to become a DISer :Pinkbounc Tell her that she is always welcome to come here and say hello - I would love to see her posts!!! I don't know anything about the consent forms. I would PM a moderator and ask them about this.

Am_I_There_Yet - That's great that Brittani wants to be a third grade teacher :) I wish her lots and lots of luck with her studies, and I'll send some PD too :wizard: Keep us posted on how she is doing.

Well, I gotta run and get Steph up for school - have a great day today!!! :wave:

Chocolate always helps - not my big butt, but my mood! :rotfl2:

I'll try the PM this morning!

That's why they taste so good! What isn't bad for us, that doesn't taste good? Why is that? :confused3

Good morning everyone! Today is my day off so I will be running errands all day! :moped: Hannah to the vet, school uniforms for Emily, passing out sponsorship requests for the park... Lots of running around! Maybe I'll be able to squeeze in a nap!

Good morning!!!

I'm sitting here waiting for my hair dye to soak into my faded, graying hair :rolleyes: I have 5 minutes left on the timer :hourglass

I hope you all have a good day today!!! :wave:

Good morning and TGIF!!!! :cool1:

My hair color didn't turn out as well as I wanted it to :sad2: I normally dye it red, like carrot red, and I have for 10 years. I decided to dye it light/reddish blonde for summer, and it's just not me :sad2: For anyone that doesn't know me, it's fine, but for those that do, it's weird seeing me this way - I barely recognize myself :rotfl2:

Tomorrow is Stephanie's birthday - she is so excited!!!! :banana: :banana: :banana:

Well, I gotta run and get ready for work - have a good day everyone!!! :wave:

Good Saturday morning everyone!!! :surfweb:

Today is a happy day - it's Stephanie's birthday :bday: :cake:

My favorite little chef is 8 years old - where does the time go??? :confused3

We are having our family over for a party - she is really excited!!! :banana:

Have a good day today everyone!!! :wave:

Hi Everyone! Seems like forever since I've posted here. Hopefully I can get all caught up.

slo - I hope Stephanie's day is great today. You guys always seem to have such great family parties!

Glad Stephanie is finished with summer school. When does she start back for regular school? Technically, our kids start back on 8/10. But Andrew has an orientation for an advanced class that he's taking on 8/7 from 9-12 and then he has freshman orientation on 8/9 from 8:30-1. So I really feel like school is starting back on the 7th because that's when my driving will start back!

How is school coming along for you? How much longer do you have? I saw your post about hating the finance part of it. Too bad we couldn't tag team this course. I love the finance part of everything. I love crunching numbers and could sit for hours doing it!!

Idroveallnight - Have you found out anything yet about getting Emily signed up on the Disboards? I PMd a friend of mine that is a moderator so you may be hearing from her.

When does your DD leave for college? (If you posted that I must have missed it...sorry!) Are you ready??

Mad4Mickey - Nice to see you again! Stop by more often!

AM_I_There_Yet - I know what it's like when they move away to school. My DD is starting her fourth year. I can still remember the day I left her at her dorm! I sat in the van and cried and cried. It was just so hard! And I really thought I was prepared for her to go away!

zoomsharedisney - WELCOME! Hope you'll stop by here often. It sounds as though we have a lot in common. My DH is a sheriff's deputy ::cop: and a volunteer firefighter/first responder :firefight and I am also a volunteer firefighter!!! :firefight

Well, to catch you up on our lives here:

I had my stress test done last Tuesday and everything was fine. That was such a load of stress taken off me!

I woke up Thursday with my foot all swollen and in terrible pain. I had tendonitis in my left foot in June of '04 and then in my right foot in June of '05. This seemed like the same thing. So I called my dr and, naturally, he wasn't going to be in that day. The nurse did get me in to see another dr in the building. He took one look at my foot and said it's not tendonitis, it's gout. The treatment is the same, however, if it has been gout all along I could have been doing something to prevent the recurrence. I'm waiting to talk to my regular dr Monday but from everything I've been reading about gout I do believe this is gout and that I was misdiagnosed with the tendonitis the two times prior. Right now I'm going through a lot of second thoughts about my dr because this has not only put me through so much pain but also cost us so much money! Because I'm on my feet all day at work I missed a lot of work last summer and the summer before because of being limited to how long I could stand so as not to re-injure it. Well, sorry to ramble but I'm just at a point of wondering what's going on and feeling upset that something could have been done to prevent it. On a good note, the medication that he put me on Thursday has worked wonders and my foot is feeling so much better.

A.J. had his oral surgery yesterday as an outpatient at the hospital. He did so great. He had two wisdom teeth removed, one other tooth removed, three fillings and some sealants. We were home from the hospital by noon. I just can't get over how well he did. He didn't even want any tylenol yesterday! It was hard to get him to understand what they were going to do (for anyone that doesn't know, he has Down Syndrome). He is having a hard time today understanding that he can only have soft stuff to eat. DH caught him getting a bag of pretzels out of the pantry a little while ago.

I promise I will try to stop by here more often! Sorry it's been so long!!

Popping in for sec!

Give your hair some time to adjust. I ALWAYS hate my hair the first week of color. It always "settles" down at about week two.

I'm naturally a brunette, but went blonde for about three years. Now I'm trying to get back to my natural color and she hasn't quite gotten it right, so every three months, I'm a different shade of brown. :rolleyes:

I went from this:

To this:

Now, it's like a strange combo. What's worse, every time I change, I have to change my business cards. To heck with it this time! I'm still blonde on my cards. People always look at the card and then back at me and then back at the card again. :rolleyes:

Wow, I made this a really long post, just to say hang in there!

Very nice pictures. You do look so different from one to the other!!

If I colored my hair I certainly wouldn't be posting pics! :lmao: My hair is red and whenever I try to color to cover up grey I end up with orange in it. My hairdresser said it's just the pigment in my hair. So I've given up and am trying to learn to love the few grey streaks that I have! :rotfl:

Good morning everyone!!! :surfweb:

Stephanie's party was great yesterday :cool1: !!!! She had lots of fun, and was given a lot of great gifts!!! :teeth: My DB & DSIL stayed until dark which was fun because my DB and I played frisbee until we couldn't see the frisbee anymore, and my DSIL played with sidewalk chalk with the girls - it was alot of fun!!!

eeyoresmountainpals - It's so good to see you my friend!!!! :hug: How are you and The LTP gang liking your new home on the subboard? Tell everyone over there that I said HI :wave2:
*Thanks for your birthday wish to Steph - I will show it to her when she wakes up - it will really make her smile!!! :teeth:
*Steph's school starts on Aug 22nd - I wish it was the day after Labor Day.
*That's a bummer that you have to start driving back and forth on Aug. 7th :guilty: Is the school far, or not to bad of a distance? I can't believe Andrew is going to be a freshman - time goes by so fast!!! How is your DD doing? PM me sometime and let me know.
*My school ends on August 15th and I have a test Tuesday :crazy: We would make a good team since you like finance ::yes:: This whole test on Tuesday is about finance. I never knew so many types of mortgages, loans, warranties on homes and etc existed. This class is definitly a good learning experience.
*I am so sorry about the gout :hug: I've never had it, but I heard it's painful. Sending lots of PD your way to help your feet :wizard: When it comes to the doctor misdiagnosing, that would make me upset too. I went through this with my eyes. My Optomotrist misdiagnosed my Rocular Roseaca 4 times and my family doctor rushed me to an Opthomologist and he diagnosed me with what I have right away. I haven't been back to the Optomotrist since, and I won't. His misdiagnosis could have started costing me my sight (literally) and I don't trust him now. You have to do what's right for you about your doctor, but I do understand how you feel ::yes:: Keep us updated on how you are doing.
*I'm glad AJ's oral surgery went well - give him a hug from me :hug: Is he still collecting things from different FD's? If so, when Kevin has anything new, I'll send it to him.

Am_I_There_Yet - Very nice pictures of you :) !!!! I think both hair colors look great on you :thumbsup2 What do you do?

Well, I gotta run - have a great day everyone!!! :wave:

I want to say thanks :goodvibes everyone for welcoming me!! I was just cruising threads last Sunday and came accross this one. Sounds like a great group we have here in this thread!! For those who inquired...I am a volunteer :firefight too.

Hi there and thanks for coming back - we would love to get to know you!!!

I see you are leaving for vacation in 15 days - how fun!!!! :cool1: I bet you are getting excited :banana: :banana:

I'm so glad that Stephanie's party went so well. Like I said in my previous post, you guys always seem to have the best family parties. I would have loved to have been out there playing frisbee! Bet the girls really enjoyed drawing on the sidewalk with their Aunt too!!

How are you and The LTP gang liking your new home on the subboard? Tell everyone over there that I said HI :wave2:

I'll make sure I tell everyone you said hi! The move went well and we are all unpacked and settled :teeth: and liking our new home!

*That's a bummer that you have to start driving back and forth on Aug. 7th :guilty: Is the school far, or not to bad of a distance?

It's 15 miles one way! And the first five miles is a steep, mountainous road (which is our road).

How is your DD doing? PM me sometime and let me know.

DD seems to be doing very well lately. One of these days I will PM! :teeth: She is going to be "homeless" for a little more than two weeks soon. Her current rent ends on 7/31 and she is moving into a four-bedroom townhouse but it will not be ready until 8/17. So we expect that we'll be seeing quite a bit of her. She is going to go on vacation with us from 8/3 - 8/6 and then she plans on staying up here on the 7th to take care of an appointment. The other time she's going to be staying with her friend's parents who live closer to Charlotte. (This friend will be one of her roommates once she moves!) I'll be glad once she's moved into the new place because it's in a much better neighborhood with more professionals in the complex than students! Thanks for asking about her!

My school ends on August 15th and I have a test Tuesday :crazy:

So once this class ends will you be ready to start selling real estate? It seems that the class has gone by really quickly. (You probably don't feel that way 'cause you're the one that has had to do the studying! :rotfl2: )

I am so sorry about the gout :hug: I've never had it, but I heard it's painful. Sending lots of PD your way to help your feet :wizard:

It is terribly painful!! You can't even stand to put a bed sheet on your foot! I'm glad I got into the dr so quickly this time and got on the medication before it got too bad. Tomorrow's my long day at work and I will be on my feet 8-9 hours but I feel I'm ready for it already, that's how quickly the medicine kicks in!!

On the topic of medicine - I couldn't believe the pain medication this dr gave me. Here he has never seen me before and he gives me Vicodine (sp?) - a prescription for 15 which to me in itself is a lot! But he also put four refills on it!!! No wonder people get addicted to painkillers so much! I got it filled just in case the pain did get worse because I knew I would need to be able to get around Friday for A.J.'s surgery - but I never even needed to take one!

When it comes to the doctor misdiagnosing, that would make me upset too. You have to do what's right for you about your doctor, but I do understand how you feel ::yes::

I'm glad that everything worked out for you and that the Opthomologist caught your problem before any damage was done. You have to fully trust your dr and I'm at the point right now that I'm not sure that I do with mine. I'll just wait and see I guess.

I'm glad AJ's oral surgery went well - give him a hug from me :hug: Is he still collecting things from different FD's? If so, when Kevin has anything new, I'll send it to him.

:hug: I will pass your hug along to him!!! He has amazed DH and I with how well he has done. And he is not even swollen from the wisdom teeth coming out. We had told him that he would probably have gopher cheeks. Now he's saying, "See, no gopher!"

Yes, he is still collecting fire department stuff. He has quite a collection and he is so proud of it all. He has lots of patches and cards and such framed in his room. Whenever anyone comes over he's got to show them and then he proudly says that it is all from his friends!!! And he wears his various FD shirts ALL the time!!

Am_I_There_Yet - Very nice pictures of you :) !!!! I think both hair colors look great on you :thumbsup2 What do you do?

Am_I_There_Yet - I was wondering the same thing about what you do?? :teeth:

zoomsharedisney - Glad you stopped back by. Hope we'll be seeing a lot more of you!!!

~~~~
We're still going to make A.J. take it easy today but DH and the other two boys and I are going to work on cleaning out our basement today! :cool1: It's an unfinished basement but we'd like to get it to the point that it's not so much junk and storage and what-not to a place that the boys can do whatever during the winter, sort of a hang-out.
Boy, I certainly have rambled this morning! I guess I'm making up for not being on here for a few weeks! :lmao: Of course, we all know I tend to ramble anyway! :teeth:
Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!
For those who asked: I'm a real estate agent. I guess I should ask which hair color makes me look more trust-worthy. :lmao:
Greetings everyone! Man you miss a couple mornings and it goes crazy!!
slo - OK I've seen your pic and you are far from old!! I am glad Steph had a great birthday party!
eeyore - I'm glas AJ is doing well! Thanks for your help on getting Emily on the DIS. Hopefully she will be on soon!
zoom - glad you came back by!
am i there yet - nice pics!
We had a busy weekend! Registration at the park is going slowly. I have about 45 cheerleaders signed up. Practice for football & cheerleading starts July 31. I am director of cheerleading at the park & a coach. I am also on the board for our whole football conference. Jim also coaches at the park. In years past Sarah has been my assistant - I am going to be lost without her. Emily still cheers at the park and isn't ready to coach, but she (and another girl) are getting promoted to captains for my squad. My niece Haley is going to be my assistant coach.
We go back to school August 15. I move Sarah into the dorm on the 13th! It's going to be different without her! Keep your fingers crossed that I don't shove her in the trunk and bring her back home!
Have a great week!!
bought my son a lap top last night busted my checkign account right down LOL
NOw I just need the rest of the money for school....
How is everyone doing ? Dh has been gone working overtime so I have the house to myself . lots of good cleaning going on and packing for my son to go off to NC .
I kind of thought you were in real estate. Those look like the real estate business card poses!
Truthfully, I like both colors and you look trustworthy either way. I guess if I had to choose which one I like better, though, it would be the second one.
Good Morning Everyone! Happy Monday!
(How do you like this, slo, I beat you to it this morning! :teeth: )
Idroveallnight -
Thanks for your help on getting Emily on the DIS. Hopefully she will be on soon!
Kayla PMd that Emily should be on in a day or so. Glad she was able to help out. Tell Emily to stop by here and say hello!
