What an awesome day yesterday

and it looks like it will be another awesome day today

(for all of us that don't mind the heat that is

)
I got my first sunburn yesterday. As goofy as it sounds, it feels so good. Now I really know that it's summer!!!!

When I go in the pool today, I will have to wear some sunscreen. Speaking of pools - being in the pool was so nice

. What a difference a year makes with Katie - last year she wasn't very happy with the big pool, so I had to keep a small kiddie pool filled on the deck for her to play in. This year I put some water-wings on her, and she was alot more confident

. Speaking of water-wings, thank God she had them on, because at one point she fell into the pool

. She was throwing some floaties in the pool and she lost her footing and fell in. The water-wings did their job and she popped right up, but again, thank God she had them on. I was laying on a float when this happened, and as soon as she fell in, I got off and grabbed her, and I said to her, "Hi there, you decided to come in?" I didn't want to make a big deal out of it and freak her out. She just looked at me, like she was in shock about falling in. I said again, "Were you silly and decided to come in?" She then smiled and said, "Yeah, I want out now." So I put her out and told her to use the stairs next time
Then, last night I put the girls to bed early and watched Brokeback Mountain. Kevin wanted no part of it

so he went downstairs and watched tv, which was good for him because it was much cooler down there. Have any of you seen this movie? No offense to those of you that liked it, but I was really disappointed. When everyone kept saying it was a love story, I was hoping for somewhat of a happy movie. To me the movie was sorta depressing, it moved slow, and I couldn't stand all the mumbling between the characters. I had to constantly be raising and lowering the volume so I could hear what they were saying

On a scale of a 1 - 10 I personally give it a 6, which is to bad, because I was really hoping for it to be a 10. But, I have found out, that when there's a lot of hype surrounding the movie, I over anticipate how it is going to be, and then I am disappointed
Today Kevin is at The Indy 500

He has been going to this race since he was 13 years old, and he loves it - well, he loves racing!!! He has done the Mario Andretti Racing School once and drove an Indy car 158 mph. He has also done the Richard Petty Experience 4 times and I'm not sure what his top speed was there. This summer he is returning to do the Mario Andretti Racing School again, and he is very excited

Anyway, about the race, he left this morning at about 3:30am and he won't return until about 6:30 - 7pm, so it's a long day. They get to the parking lot early and are already drinking beer before most of us wake up

. I've been to the race 3 times, and it is an amazing experience - it's a sound that can never be duplicated!!
Okay, so whats going on around here?!?!
Kathy - I've been meaning to tell you that I love the new avatar. Very cute!!!
*Happy early graduation to Andrew. Tell him that I said Congradulations
*AJ sounds so sweet

. I sure hope I get to meet you and your kids someday.
*It's to bad that you won't see your DD much this summer

It's nice that she's coming for Andrews graduation - your kids sound like they are all really close.
*Stephanie gets out of school on June 6th and she is very excited

It's to bad that she's not out for very long. She starts summer school on June 15th

. She a little behind in her reading so her teacher recommended summer school and I said okay. It's only an 1 1/2 every morning, but it's still a bummer for her to go. But, if it helps, that's what matters.
*Your welcome for the support on the other thread - I am totally on your side!!! I just can't get over what happened and I am still mad for you. I would think teachers would be preaching to kids about how not to do this, instead of to do this. Is the teacher young? Not that I should stereotype, but so many younger people just don't get the dangers of internet predators. Even my brother, age 26, who I love dearly, put every piece of personal information on his My Space home page

When I told him he shouldn't do that, he told me, "I want people I went to highschool with to find me, so I have to put that information down." I told him it was not a good idea, but he doesn't listen - oh well I tried!!!

I hope everything works out for you with this problem.
*The raccoon story you told me about was on Good Morning America yesterday - it's national news now!!!!
Well, I gotta run!! I need to take the girls today to buy some cheap sandals that they can play outside in and destroy w/o me getting mad at them. It's to bad that we don't live closer together so you and the kids could come over and use the pool. Stephanie would love having other kids to play with. Have a good day!!!!
