Thanks for everyones good wishes. Your thoughts and prayers were felt , my Dh is doing ok he and his Grandfather were very close. I have told him how everyone here has been praying for us .

Eeyor: you are in my thoughts today as you make your journey to say goodbye , AJ will be fine he is a strong young man and I am sure he will feel your support of him .

Sandy you must GET that thing out of your attic that is just not good at all .

Wow - what a rough few days for everyone!

mad4mickey - I know that had to be a rough trip! I hope you and your husband & family are doing well!

eeyore - I hope you have a safe trip and that all of you are well! I don't think there is a way to be prepared for death. I will keep all of you in my prayers!

slo - I am glad things are getting back into a routine. Critters in the attic?? (Ok - so it was as close as I could get!) I hope you get it out of there soon!

So how has everyone's weather been? We've been sunny and in the 70's. A little bit of rain - but otherwise great! I wich spring lasted longer here!

Good morning everyone!!

It's so hard to believe that my Grandma passed away one week ago today . I feel like this past week has gone really fast and also really slow at the same time. My new curtains for the living room and dining room are being installed tomorrow morning, and I really looking forward to that . I told Kevin that I'm also a little sad too because my Grandma was really looking forward to seeing my new curtains. I had all the different material swatches on Thanksgiving and Christmas and during those two holidays her and I would discuss what we thought was best. I know she will still see them from heaven, but I would have liked her here to see them in person.

eeyoresmountainpals - Sending you lots of hugs because I know these couple of days are going to be difficult.

Mad4Mickey - You had a far trip for your Dh's grandpas funeral, I'm so glad you made it home safely. I'm holding up okay - I have my moments How is your DH holding up? - I'm sure he is having his moments also

I actually have pest control coming out late afternoon today to give us an inspection and estimate to have the critter removed. On another thread I go to some people mentioned that the critter may be going up there to have it's babies I don't like that at all!!!!

Well, my coffee is gone, which means it's time for me to get ready for work and get Stephanie out of bed. Happy St. Patricks Day everyone - don't forget to wear green today Have a good day!!!

Slo-I'm sorry to hear about your grandma. I was close to mine too. I wear her wedding ring everyday and it helps me to think of her often. Maybe you could get a small piece of her to keep with you.

I actually have my Grandma's wedding ring also. She wore it Monday and Tuesday and her wake and funeral and then it was given to me. My mom also found a watch and pearls that Grandma wanted me to have also. It's going to be nice wearing something of hers.

The trapper guy came out to the house yesterday and set 2 traps to catch the raccoon(s) that are taking residence in my attic. Would anyone like to take a guess on how much this all costs ? If you guessed $350.00 then you are right . Oh well, you gotta do what you gotta do .

Well I gotta go because my curtain guy is coming this morning and hanging my new curtains - I'm so excited!!!! My Grandma helped me pick out this fabric, so I hope she approves of the final product up in heaven. Have a good Saturday everyone!!!!

Happy Saturday! I have to work all day & late today - so I am missing Emily's Nationals and openeing day of baseball!! Sarah is driving up to Birmingham to watch Emi today & some friends of ours are taking James to his game. If that lottery ticket I bought on the way home from WDW had been a winner I wouldn't be having this problem!

I bet your grandma wil love the curtains. She's looking down on you now and watching out for you. And good luck with the raccoons. I think it would be worth anything to get rid of them. We had moles take over last summer and it was awful. My neighbor dug up her yard to put a pool in and they think it disturbed a nest. she had dozens in her basement. I only had them all over my yard. Yuk!

We went to see my daughter's musical last night. The music man. She did so good. All the kids did. Very talented. My favorite was the little 7 or 8 year old they got to play winthrop. He was amazing. I'm going back to see it again tonight.

Three weeks from today we go on our cruise. No docs yet and still not packed but we are getting real excited.

Good Sunday morning everyone!!!!

Well, my curtains are up and I love them The curtains guys even took pictures of the my two rooms so they can put them in their binder to show other customers. I think my Grandma would have been very proud of the way they look .

Idroveallnight - I'm sorry you had to work such long hours yesterday and miss everything with your kids I felt so bad for you!!!

polly p - That's awesome about your DD being in The Music Man - I bet you are so proud of her!!!!

So, what is everyone doing today??? We are going to my Grandma's house to start getting the expensive items moved out. She has a wide screen tv that is going to take 4 of us to move out because it is so heavy - I bet that will be interesting to watch . The tv is going to my mom's house so she can enjoy it.

New curtians : ) Love new window treatments , I cant have any because they collect cat hair ! My Dh has a LONG hair cat ( blech) We have those white plantation blinds through the whole house.

Any Racoons in the trap yet ? In our city you can check a trap out at animal control and catch it yourself and release it or they will come after it and the trap . No charge I have caught a armadillo in one before and had them come for it they just moved it out to the lake . Every once in a while you will see animals in the "hood" that sholuldnt be here but with all the building going on around us they coem on in .

On Saturday there was no racoons in the traps - I was really bummed out because I want to trap something for $350.00. Then Saturday afternoon the trapper guy took the traps because the state doesn't allow them to be somewhere on Sunday (state law he said ) So, he'll come back today and reset them again - keep your fingers crossed that we catch one

I'm doing better - the girls aren't allowing me to sit around and be sad I understand your DH's said moments - my mom and I call them "emotional moments". I'll have one of these moments in my car this morning because I always call my Grandma on Monday mornings

Happy Spring everyone!!!
We are going to have thunderstorms today, but the temps will be in the 70's! I was watching the news this morning & there is still snow everywhere! We didn't have much winter weather at all this year.
James' team won their game 12-4. Emily's squad didn't do very well in competition. This was the first time they were at a big competition with the lights, stage & super huge crowd. Emily said she had fun, though!

Ok - so I had to post tonite!!! James had a game tonite and he hit his 1st homerun!!!! He also had a big out at the plate (he's the catcher) and caught a foul ball! He got the game ball, too! He was so happy! Jim got to be there too! It was a great night!

Emily had a good night at cheer practice - she is now doing tucks with justa light spot!

Good morning everyone!!!

Yesterday I left work early and went to my Grandma's lawyer with my mom. The information the lawyer gave us about my Grandma's trust just makes my head spin, and it makes my mom's head spin even more

Then I left the lawyers office and took Katie to the doctor because she's had a bad cold lately and coughs so bad at night. As it turns out, she lost one of the tubes in her ear and already has an ear infection . The doctor told me that if this continues (cold w/ ear infection which is why she got tubes in the first place) that she'll have to be retubed The surgery is no big deal, and I figured this would happen when she got her tubes at 8 months old, it's just one more thing to worry about. Oh well!!!

Idroveallnight - that is such awesome news about James game!!!! I can tell by your post how excited you are That's to bad about Emily's cheer competition, but she'll have more - and if she had fun, that's what's most important!!!

Monday was an overwhelming day!! On these types of days, I am so tired after I put my kids to bed that I fall asleep in front of the tv 10 minutes after I get there. I don't know why I don't just go to bed As of yesterday we didn't have any raccoons yet I haven't looked outside this morning yet - hopefully there's one in there.

Ok - so Sarah (DD17) was upset last night because I didn't post anything about her. She has prom Friday and her dress is beautiful!

How fun that Sarah has prom on Friday What color is her dress? Is she going with a boyfriend or just a friend? You'll have to let me know how her night was.

Good morning!!!

March 2006 just stinks!!!! This month is showing no mercy to anyone in my family . Yesterday my MIL and FIL got into a car accident on the way to my MIL's physical therapy (she had surgery done the same day my Grandma passed away). Luckily, no one was hurt, but there car is pretty messed up and is already at the body shop. I am counting down the days until this month is over!!!!

Well, I gotta run and see what I'm going to wear to work today - have a good day everyone!!!!

HI EVERYONE!

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. We got home from PA on Sunday morning (drove through the night). The services were beautiful but the family squabbling afterwards was unbelievable.

This is a second marriage for both Nana and Grandpa. Grandpa's kids (a daughter in her late 40's and two sons in their 50's) felt "entitled" to some of his things and voiced that right after the funeral. It was just really awkward. I've heard of families doing stuff like that but had never really seen it. All of his family lives out-of-town so hopefully now that it's all over they won't be bothering Nana much!

I'm glad your girls are keeping you busy! You grandma wouldn't want you to be sad for her!

You'll have to post a pic of your new curtains. I got new valances and mini blinds for our family room earlier this month and they make such a difference.
