Hi Lori!!!

Not sunny here, in fact, Stephanie has a 2 hour fog delay this morning. She's thrilled!!!! :cool1:

What musical is your DD in? Sounds like fun for here, alot of work, but still fun.

Have a good day!!!

It really is good to be home, but it is always hard to leave WDW!
Waking up Tink wasn't too bad. We went on an EMH morning. We walked at a brisk pace up Main Street (mom & I had to slow down!) we let the 3 kids go ahead. They were first at the rope, one family came up after them with 2 girls (maybe 4 & 5). They had strollers. When the rope dropped my kids did run to the door - it really isn't far. The family with the strollers was behind them and the dad kind of slung the stroller as he snatched the girl out. The CM at the counter had NO CLUE why they were all there! :rotfl2: Then another CM came to the rescue and asked my group if they were first. Emily got to climb up on the chair and tap the box, James got to hold a sword. All three kids got the certificate. I am glad Emily got to do it - I don't know how many more years she will want to! :tink:
Port Orleans was great! We had a corner room so two windows. It really makes the room feel bigger. Our mousekeeper did wonderful, elaborate towel animals. We were in building 15 - super close to the bus stop and a very short walk to the food court.
I have to go get the kids ready for school - talk to ya'll soon!

Good morning!!!

It's really foggy out here again this morning - I sure hope Stephanie doesn't have another fog delay today. It really messes up my morning routine

My Grandma is having knee replacement surgery today, right now as I type. If you could keep her in your thoughts and prayers today I would really appreciate it. She's 84 years old and I'm nervous that this surgery will be a lot harder on her than what she realizes. She was very anxious to have it done though because her knee has been bothering her for many years now. I hope it all works out for her like she wants it too. I love her so much!!!

Idroveallnight - That was a great story about you guys going to wake up Tink - I laughed when you said the CM didn't know what you were talking about :rotfl2: You should have given him this website and told him he may learn something here :rotfl: I'm glad your Port Orleans room was nice - that always makes your trip even nicer :) How was your first day back at work?

Well, I better go and check out the school systems website to see if there's another fog delay. Have a good day everyone!!!

I just checked the website, and the kids have another 2 hour delay today. Stephanie will be thrilled because now she gets to sleep in much longer. I guess I can DIS longer now ;)

slo - I will keep your grandmother in my prayers! I have a friend who had the same surgery and it is tough, but it relly improved her situation - better mobility & less pain. Work was awful! I didn't leave until 7 pm there were so many calls! Hopefully today will be better! :thumbsup2

Enjoy your extra DIS time!

Thank you for keeping my Grandma in your prayers - she's going to need all the prayers she can get. Her actual surgery went well, but she is doing terrible :guilty: . I called her yesterday and my mom said that she is in terrible, terrible pain and didn't want to talk on the phone. I guess the morphine wasn't working and she was just totally miserable :guilty: . I did talk to her for a second when I told her I loved her, and she said that the pain was much worse than what she thought it would be (her voice sounding very weak). My Grandma is the strongest woman I know and doesn't complain about pain unless the pain is completely unbearable, so I know this must be terrible for her. This is exactly what I was nervous about with this surgery - I hope this doesn't take to much of a toll on her - she's 84 years old.

I'm sorry your first day back was so dreadful - you sure had a long day, you must have been exhausted. Sending lots of PD that work won't be as bad today :wizard:

Well, I gotta run and get into the shower. Have a good day!!!!

slo - HI! How is your grandmother? Has her pain improved? How goes potty training? (is there an smilie for that?) I am off from work tomorrow! Woohoo!! :cool1: I am going to take my pics in to be developed. If they don't turn out well, then I will order from Photopass. I was really hoping to nap, but the roofers are here this week. We had enough damage from KAtrina to replace the roof, but it wasn't too bad - no leaks, so we were able to put it off awhile. So lots of hammering equals no sleep! I guess I'll just have to DIS!

Slo I hope your gransmother feels better soon. I will keep her in my prayers.

I don't have much time to type today.

My Grandma is very critical and near death. My mom signed a DNR last night and I sat at the hospital with my mom until 1am. I'm going to Stephanie to school and Katie to daycare then go back to the hospital again.

I haven't heard from my mom yet, so that means my Grandma hasn't passed yet. I'm sure she will today though because the doctors had to put her on a ventilator, her blood pressure is very very low, her heart rate is extremely unstable, and she's not passing any urine which means her kidneys are failing.

I am feeling totally numb because my Grandma is one of my best friends. What am I going to do without her? She always told me this day would come and told me that I had to come to terms with the fact that she is not going to live forever.

What am I going to tell Stephanie? The two of the them are very close also and Stephanie loves her very very much. Stephanie is going to freak out when I tell her. I'm not going to say anything this morning, she doesn't need that stress at school.

Well, I have to go wake her up and get her off to school. I'll talk to you all later.

Sandy - I am so sorry to hear about your Grandmother! I can only imagine what you must be going through! I will keep praying - not just for your grandmother, but for you & your entire family! I know I am a long way away, but please let me know if I can do anything to help! Karen

My Grandma passed away very early this morning :sad1: . Luckily my mom and my uncle, her brother, made it to the hospital in time so she wouldn't have to pass alone. I wish I could have gone too, but Kevin has to go to work this morning, his boss has given him no choices, and I have no one to watch the girls. Luckily though, she was concious when I left the hospital last night and she heard me tell her that I love her and that my girls love her.

Yesterday was a very long day at the hospital with many ups and downs (a total emotional rollercoaster). When I got to the hospital she was doing better and was slightly alert. The ventilator was removed shortly after I got there and she was glad about that. After lunch my mom left to meet her brother, who flew in from Olympia, Washington, and my Grandma went from better to starting to get worse again. She asked me, "Who's watching the girls?" and I told her they were at school and daycare. Then she told me, "Don't stay that long, I don't want you driving in the dark." I told her it was afternoon and she didn't have to worry (typical Grandma, even when she isn't well, she's still worried about me). Then I had the chance to feed her some ice chips, which I was happy to be able to take care of her after a lifetime of her taking care of me. When I did leave the hospital in the early evening, her bloodpressure was looking bad again and her heart rhythm was still unstable. I was really hoping she would make it through the night, so I could be with her a little longer today, but it was God's will to call her to heaven this morning.

I want to thank all of you for all your kindness, caring, sympathies, hugs, prayers and everything else you have done for me :grouphug: . You are all a wonderful group of people, and I thank God everyday that I have met you all and that I can call you my friends.

God Bless you all!!!

Sandy
I am so sorry to hear about your grandmother. She will be missed by all of you. My DD was also very close to my grandmother and took it very hard. My Dad gave her my grandmothers Mother Mary medal. She wears it often still and still talks of her "Nana". We keep her memory alive and I know you will too. pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Take care and give the gilrs lots of hugs, it will help.

Lori

oh, slo - I am so sorry for you & your family! :grouphug: I know you are all devastated right now. How is Stephanie? I will continue to pray for all of you!

Dear Slo--what a tibute to your grandmother that you were able to share your relationship with so many here on the board. She sounds like one of those grannies we all strive to be --total, unconditional love. I know it will be hard for your Mom too. You know, Slo, as your Grandmother left this world she saw you doing exactly what she had asked you to do--being safe and taking care of your children. She would have been pleased. My heart and prayers are with you, your Mom and your little ones. Grannywishes (mother of Idroveallnight)

Slo,
I am so sorry to hear about your grandmother. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. I have not lost a grandparent but I did lose my father in a case of work place violence so I can tell you from experience that the pain will very slowly start to ease. If Steffi wants to talk about Grandmother let her( no matter how sad it makes you). My oldest daughter will get on a kick where she wants to talk about my daddy and some days I really don't want to talk about him because it hurts to much but I know that it makes her feel better so I let her talk. It will be 5 years on March 14 since we lost daddy and some days it hurts as bad as it did when it first happened. Stay strong it will get better. I am sending pixiedust: your way. If you need to talk we are always here.

slo ~ I am so sorry for your loss. I hadn't been on this thread for a couple of days so I didn't even realize what you were going through. I'm sorry.

You've talked about your Grandma so many times on here and I know how special she was to you and to your girls. You are so lucky that you were able to have her as a part of your life for so long and your girls are so lucky to have had her in their lives as well.

I will be keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers! :grouphug:

:grouphug: I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother Sandy. I know how strong realtionships can be between a grandmother and granddaughter, and how hard it is to lose one. You and your family will be in my prayers! :grouphug:

BTW:I'd be nice to see ya around the LTP again!! :goodvibes
