Calling all Fireman wives!!!

Not much new to report
I went to a wake last night for a friends dad, and their DD, who I've known a long time, is looking for a job, and she asked if she could come work for me. She likes the hours she would be working, and she likes the amount of hours she would be working. I'm a little nervous hiring a friends DD, because that could cause problems if the girl isn't a good employee, but at the same time, she could be an awesome employee, because she knows us. I'm a little confused on what to do, but I need to decide, because I need an employee NOW!!!! What do you all think?????


Karen - Hugs to James I remember how nervous I was when I started middle school and highschool. I'm sure he'll do great, but I'll send lots of PD for him anyway

CB - How exciting that you're in Florida!!!! I'm sorry things are boring right now, but things will get more exciting with time. I can hardly wait to hear all about your adventures I'm so glad you are feeling better - that's very good news!!!!

sandy - that's a tricky one about your friend's daughter! She could be a huge help at just the right time, but... I would talk to my friend about my concerns and then be very clear with her daughter about what you expect - no gray areas.

Things are busy here, but enjoyable. Greek life is a very big thing here. I think 1600 girls are participating in rush. Busy, busy, busy! Sarah has done a great job - she is in charge of rush. Everything is running smoothly. The other girls have done great at their jobs, too!
James had a great 1st day of school/ I knew he would be fine once he got there. Emily's day went well also. Jim is handling things well. My niece Haley is there helping out, too.

This is my last Wednesday off, because my college employee goes back to school this weekend Stephanie is going to daycare today, because they are going on a great field trip that she doesn't want to miss, so it's just Katie and I I'm going to take her to lunch to Mc'D's and then I'm going to take her to the show (I don't know what we are seeing yet ). It should be a nice afternoon with just the 2 of us (I don't think this has ever happened, because Steph is always with us).


Karen - That's awesome about Sarah doing such a great job with Rush (what is Rush again - you told me before, but I forget )
*I"m glad that James and Emily had a good first day of school. Stephanie's first day is next Thursday
*I agree about the friends DD I thought about talking to the parents, but then Kevin said no, because she's over 18, and he didn't think this would be right. Plus, I get nervous about talking to the parents, because I feel like they will think I'm prejudging her behaviour, because I need to discuss my policies before she does anything. I'm so confused on what I should do The only thing I keep thinking of is how I need and employee, and her schedule will be a great fit to what I need.

Yawn.......so tired with this darkness


Yesterday was a nice day.
I cleaned some house in the morning, and then Katie I went to the park, and had a picnic lunch. We were going to go to the show, but she decided she wanted to go to the park instead, which was fine, because that's free Then last night we all went to the mall, so Stephanie could get her Hannah Montana backpack, and lunch tote (They are like a silver disco ball). Both girls took some their birthday money (Stephanie bought her backpack with part of her money) and then both girls bought a new Build-A-Bear and something for them to wear. I swore I wouldn't get any more BAB, but they wanted to use their own money, so I said okay. Katie got a rabbit, and Stephanie got a whitish/bluish bear.




Well, I'm off to start the day.

Man, I've been sleeping so good lately with the windows open - it's hard to wake up in the morning. Plus, I bought a water pillow from my chiropractor, and the thing is awesome!!!! This helps me sleep great too The pillow is like a waterbed, where you put water actually in the pillow. It conforms to my neck, and therefore, helping reduce stiffness in my neck. I just love it!!!!!


Well, I gotta get going - early day today.
I have a Chiropractor appointment at 8:30am, and then I got to work after that.

It was so nice to wake up to sunlight today

We are going to have a beautifully awesome weather weekend
We have no plans, and that's fine with me!!!!
Katie isn't feeling well, so this weekend we are totally chilling out at home.
I cleaned house yesterday (I worked in the morning, and then again at night, so I was home during the afternoon), so I don't even have to do that this weekend - awesome!!!! I'm going to catch up on my book, and maybe lay outside for awhile. It'll be a much needed, relaxing weekend!!!!!


Karen - Have a good last day with Sarah today , and be careful coming home!!!

Poor Sophie is sick today
She woke up this morning with both diaharea and vomiting
This makes me nervous, because she is so little, that she could dehydrate very easily. I did give her 1 grape, which I found out later is dangerous for dogs, but it was just 1, so I don't if that's it. I then gave her part of a Dentabone, which I saw on the package, this morning, in very small print, that it's not for puppies, so I don't know All I know, is that I don't like seeing her this way.

Katie is still not 100% either, and I have a feeling I'm taking her to the doctor tomorrow She still has no fever, but talks like someone is pinching her nose, and is still complaining of a sore throat. She is also not acting like herself - not alot of energy. Poor thing!!!!

Well, I gotta run - sorry this is so brief.
I've been looking up info, online, about how to take care of Sophie

SLO- I hope your dog feels better soon! My dog went through a very bad bout of it when she was a puppy! We think that she had licked some ant spray on the ground Trust me...you dont want any more information. Just know that I had to clean the entire laundry room and was not happy!

I have the TV in the background and just saw an ASPCA commercial that made me start crying so much! I just hate to see animals in harm, or in pain.

Everyone is better here today - thank goodness!!!!!!
I took things very very slow with Sophie, and she never got sick again. I firmly believe that the bone I gave her was to blame. I don't think her little tummy could digest it I'm thinking of calling Pedigree today and voicing a complaint about how their packaging sucks, and I never would have given this to Sophie if they would have printed "not suitable for puppies" larger.

Katie is still complaining of a slight sore throat, but she's not acting sick. She went in the pool yesterday, and ate pizza, so I do believe she is better. I think resting Friday and Saturday really helped her

So, Stephanie goes back to school this week It's been so nice having her home, and not having to fight about getting her out of the house, and having to do her homework. She still doesn't know who her teacher is, because the school keeps delaying it. They were suppossed to post it Friday after 3pm, and now they aren't posting it until today after 5pm - it's so frustrating I wonder what the big deal is

This is my first week w/o my college girl, and my last week with having my highschool girl with me all the time. Next week I'm going to be working alot I love the store, but I don't like having to live there. Oh well, at least I can catch up on my reading while I"m there (we are slow at night) and maybe play my DS again a little.


CB - How's life at WDW???? What are you doing there lately?

Karen - Are you home? I bet everyone at home is glad to have you back



Well, I'm off to walk off all the badness I ate this weekend
The one bad thing about sitting by the pool, is I eat way to much snacky food and ice cream - but I can't help it, I love doing that while sitting by the pool. I"m paying for it this morning - I woke up with terrible heartburn. I haven't had that since I was pregnant with Katie.

I am home and back in the groove. I got home Sunday evening and was busy cathcing things up. Work yesterday was busy!! When I wnet to the park last night, I was bombarded with questions and things to fix. Hopefully it will be better tonight.

sandy - I am glad Katie & Sophie are better! How is the water pillow? I may have to check one out!

Its great to hear that everyone seems to be doing really well. No more sick people/animals at the moment!

I just began actually working and training yesterday and today I will be training in another area. The storm is supposed to hit today and the good thing is that the company is extremely cautious and well prepared. They are planning on closing the park(animal kingdom) between 12 and 4 when it is supposed to reach 35 mph winds. I just hope my bus is still going to run otherwise I wont have a way home
Although I always have wanted to know what it was like to be in a park overnight

Hi all!!!

This is a going to be a quickie today, because I allowed myself to stay in bed longer than normal (I went to bed with a headache yesterday, and I still have it this morning I ran 1 1/2 miles yesterday, and then walked 3 1/2 and the running gave me a screaming headache. I was hoping the Chiro adjustments, would have allowed me to run, but it hasn't . The Chiro has helped me to power walk w/o a headache anymore, so that's a great thing. I guess running is looking like it's not going to happen anymore )


Karen - Welcome home!!!!
**I love my water pillow!!!! I do believe it helps me sleep better, and not wake up with a stiff neck. I don't know if you can buy this pillow in stores, so you may need to call different Chiropractors to see if they sell them.

CB - Be careful with that storm coming . You'll have to fill us in on what it's like to be at WDW during a storm like this.

I still have my headache today, but not as bad.
I decided to not workout again today, because I know it will aggravate it.
I'm looking forward to seeing the Chiro today, so I can get a SNAP, and tell him what happened.


This is my last morning w/o having to fight with STephanie to get out the door, so she doesn't miss her bus. I'm not looking forward to tomorrow morning at all

It's a big day around here

First of all, my baby is 5 years old today - 5!!!!!
Where in the heck did the time go????
So today I"m going to make her a special breakfast (an Eggo with a birthday candle - her request), and then we have to go buy her donuts to take to school. Then for dinner, she requested to go to Joes Crab Shack - she claims they have the best Mac-n-Cheese Then after dinner, we are going to go to ToysRUs so she can pick out some Legos, for the new Lego table we bought her (she doesn't know that yet). So she'll have a good day!!!!!


Second of all, Stephanie starts 4th grade today
I say again, where in the heck did the time go?????
I feel like she just started Kindergarten yesterday.
I hate how time moves so fast!!!!


My headache is basically gone - thank God!!!!!
My Chiro told me to not run that much anymore, and we both agreeded that running may have to be taken out of my future . My neck can't handle the pounding. He told me that a treadmill might be better for me, because they are more cushioned, but the problem with that, is that I can't ever run a marathon though, and that's what I want the most. Oh well, I just have to stay focused now on walking a marathon, instead of running one.

sandy - time really does fly! Sarah is 20 today!! My kids have been doing alraight with the morning school routine. Emily always requires time updates! I announce the time about every ten minutes.
