Calling all Chicago DISers #3

Cool Kim!! Any live updates? We're roasting here today-headed to the pool later! I'll just have to close my eyes and imagine it's the PoP pool!! Need some Disney music to take along for better effect!
Sure hope you are having the BEST time!!!

Wow! So jealous Kim. Would love to be at the POP right now. As hot as it is here I bet you are roasting. But a great roast, huh? Need live report and some pics so I can live through you.

Laying low today. Sunday is my dad's very belated 80th birthday party. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Nothing else new or exciting out our way. Just waiting for our first expectant (hope that is the right word..) buyer to walk through and take a look at our house. Sure hope someone comes along, loves it and buys it.

Being in real estate law, this cracked me up! Thanks Susan! :thumbsup2 How about Prospective? ;)

Yep all, hot & humid here too. There were some breezes and a couple actual 'winds', but even the humidity alone had us sweating in the shade. With fastpasses, and shopping and eating, etc we don't spend a LOT of time in the direct heat. In, out, in, out, you know. ;)

MK today. Saw the new Summer Nightastic, and the oldie but goodie Electrical Magical Parade. Very sparkly! :wizard:

Oh, Brett Favre was at MK today too. We were walking alongside him. :rolleyes1

Hey everyone! Things have been crazy since the last time I posted so I've been just reading quickly at night with no time to say hey, so hey! :)
Uh, since the last time I've been here I graduated high school. I've worked some job every day since the weekend after I graduated, 17 straight days. I'm constantly tired but I think that is because 3/4 of the time I'll go out after work and come home at like 1am then wake up and work the next day. I <3 sugarfree Red Bull hahah.
Oh and I went to the Blackhawks celebration yesterday with my younger brother! It was by the far the most amazing day of my life. No words can describe the feelings that rushed through me when the parade came by. Everything was worth waking up at 6, standing on Michigan Ave for 4 hours, nearly being trampled in the crowd, the mob at Union, and nearly being late for work yesterday. I love my Hawks and would do it all over again. Plus Kane and the Cup...

KimRaye Sooo jealous of your trip!!!! I hope it's amazing and everything with your mom gets sorted out soon. I'm very sorry to hear about her. Congrats to your DD about moving up FS so quickly! That's awesome news.
Stitchfans :( Sorry to hear about the issues with the house. It all happens for a reason, something more amazing will come along. Good luck with selling!
Tiggerrn2 A new ticker! Lucky! That looks like an amazing trip.

Hey to everyone else, gotta run to work :)
H

Kim ~ How cool! My oldest is a huge Packers fan, and still likes Favre too.

:blush: prospective. yeah, that sounds better. knew I was way off base.

heat or no heat I still would love to be at Disney World. This sitting here and wondering what will happen is killing me. My cousin is still looking at houses as they come available but either they aren't what we are looking for or they need way too much work or they will not go with the rent to own. One house had a propane tank which scared us. :scared1: DH looked it up and found all sorts of articles about the tanks blowing up and killing the owners. Price was right, but the idea of being blown up scared me off.

Thanks Chell. Congrats on your graduation. Did not realize you were a senior. Lost in my own world right now. My whole life is consumed in the idea of selling this house and getting out of here.

Calling for storms here. Guess I should move on and give DD a chance on the computer. Later. Have a great weekend everyone. Tomorrow we will be gone to my dad's for his be lated 80th birthday party.

I wish I could have been there, watched it online and it was amazing!!!

I had to work downtown today and saw there was still some confetti on michigan. Go Blackhawks!

I wish I could go see the MSEP in WDW during Nightastic -- won't be there again till December after my eastern DCL.

Hi guys! Man, these days just seem to be flying by lately! I don't want summer to disappear in a blur! The kids are loving being on vacation, especially since they get to stay up later. We've had a few graduation parties, family birthdays and picnics filling our weekends. DD8 has her recital next weekend so that will keep 4 days busy with dress rehearsal and shows. Then we're having an 85th birthday party for my Dad and our big family picnic the last weekend in June. DD8 then has a dance comp in the Dells just after July 4th and we'll travel to NJ for DHs family reunion the last weekend in July. Phew, it's going to be August before I know it. :upsidedow

Also been busy planning a semi-surprise trip to WDW for Thanksgiving week. I love planning vacations.

Stitchfans - some extra PD for you on your house sale and finding a new one soon! :wizard::wizard:

MJ - congrats on your graduation! I was thinking of taking my kids down to the Blackhawks celebration but after seeing those crowds on TV I'm kind of glad we watched from home. It would have been cool though!

KimRaye - how cool that you're posting live from Pop! So jealous that you get to see MSEP! Enjoy the rest of your trip!!

nashtag - :wave2:

Bunchkin - how are things going in Las Vegas? Any closer to moving back?

 to everyone else! Hope you're all doing well and enjoying summer!

Well, time to sign-off and start the kids toward bed. Tomorrow is church, nephew's birthday party and then a picnic/bbq. Have a great one everybody! :flower3:

Hi Everyone! :flower3: I am so sorry I haven't been around much. Ever since we got back from the wedding trip we have just had so much going on with moving, buying furniture, my cousin got married, misc. parties, planning our at-home party, i got transferred at work so i'm getting used to that. (it's nice b/c i'm actually busy now and feel i'm actually using my college degree.) seriously, i've been going going going... something every weekend. I promise to try and update more. It sounds like everyone around here is doing fairly well.

Stitch ~ good luck with selling your home as well as everything else you have going on.:wizard:

Kim ~ hope you had a nice trip and your mom is doing ok.

Chell ~ the parade started right in front of the building I work in so I got to watch it from the safety of our fourth floor air conditioned dressing room! I hear ya, it was a MOB out there. My boss said we could go out there for a bit if we wanted to and we said sitting by the open windows was good enough for me! Ugh and it was so humid that day. I'm glad you were able to experience it. Seeing that Stanley Cup in person was AWESOME (if if I was four stories above it.)

ID ~ good luck to DDs with their recitals and competitions! Also, happy bday to your dad!

piglet, tiggern, slo, mac, leigh, and everyone else ~ hope you all are doing well and enjoying your summer! :wave2:

seriously, i've been going going going... something every weekend.

I know the feeling. I don't even bother posting to say how busy I am anymore. I figure I just sound like a broken record. Spent two of the past three weeks in London for work. Already made Premiere status on United this year. Figure I should hit Premiere Executive by the end of next month. On a first name basis with one of the flight attendants already. :lmao: It's crazy!

Fortunately, the next trip is actually vacation. Doing the Baltic cruise on the Magic in July. Then I've got to plan some training and trying to figure out if I want Boston in early August, or Virginia Beach in late August, early September. Then I know I'll be back in London on business again at some point this year and there's still a possibility I may need to go back to India one more time this fall.

This is one crazy year! But, I'm very happy I'm staying busy. Too many people not staying busy and ending up out of work. So, I'll take it! :)

Hi to everyone!! Haven't heard much from Bunchy lately. Hope all is well. Hope Kim is having a great time in the World!

Hi everyone. Enjoying these storms? Whew! I had some pretty lilies out front but not any more. The winds, hail or something bend them in half and destroyed all the flowers. Oh well. I have been fighting myself lately double guessing and questioning myself. I am doubting all my decisions that I am making. DH wants to move out to Carrier Mills right away and rent a home while we wait for the house to sell.

His philosophy is he can be working and I can get a full time job to bring in some money. Sounds great except one problem. We will have to pay rent there and keep up with expenses here. What if I can not find a job right away. Sure he has a job waiting but it is lawn care With all this rain and such it is impossible to work outdoors. Meanwhile rent with be owed, utilities are owed and plus whatever is left from here. :confused3

He swears we will be able to make it. I do not think so. Especially if the stupid Realtor insists on keeping all the lights on 25/7 (because they are too stupid or lazy to turn them on and off) and cooling down this house. Yes, I am well aware the money is not going to last that much longer. I said I would go out to find a job here but DH flat out refuses to go look here saying he has a job down there. I am about ready to tear out all of my hair.

At my age I should be able to make decisions and move forward but I am so scared and confused as to what is right. Give me your thoughts, what would you all do if you were in my situation? Sorry for dumping on all of you again.

Susan ~ Not really sure what advice to give. Is there any way that he could move down there and stay with family until you and your daughter are ready to move down too? I also would think about the school situation, as I am sure you want to get her settled in before the school year starts.

As for the realtor, there is no reason to keep the lights on all the time. Set them to a timer for night time, the outside lights included. I don't recall looking at a single house where all the lights were left on for us, and it did not bother me to turn them on and then off myself.

Hi Kirsten long time no talk to.

I asked him if he wanted to go stay at my cousin's house and he said he would not like to be there without us. "Big Baby"

Either way though DD will have to move in with my cousin if we are not there in time for school so she can be there for the start of the fall.

Every house we looked at in Carrier Mills do not have all the lights on as a matter of fact one did not even have the air on and it was quite stuffy. Funny thing is the stuffy one was the one we wanted but the owner would not work with us as she promised. (old story)

I am still wrecking my brain trying to figure out what the best solution for us is. Thanks for responding.

Hope everyone else is having a good day.

 all!

We're back. :sad1:

Hope you're all doing well!

geffric, sorry about Sunday. Kelly chose that day to wake up with an attitude ("I'm sooo tired"), barely ate anything at CM, barely spoke during breakfast, and proceeded to get in line for Space Mountain, with a tummy ache. After 30 mins in line, she decides she doesn't want to ride. Meanwhile, I've been outside in the heat all this time, and getting a little cranky myself because they forgot to leave me their cards so I could get fastpasses on BTMR. :headache: Well, if she can't ride SM, she can't ride BTMR either, right? I said they could do what they wanted, and I was heading back to the room. Kelly was now in tears. Fun last day! Again, sorry I didn't call.

Our home A/C went out the first day we were in WDW too. :headache: My son handled everything here, with my credit card over the phone, to the tune of $2400 - unexpected additional vacation expense! Oh well, everything's fine now. :thumbsup2

Longest stay, 11 nights, 12 days, still isn't enough time! :cloud9: Didn't want to leave, and I want to move down there, heat and all!

Hi everyone!
I hope you all are ok after that crazy weather last night.

Welcome back, KimRaye. Sorry to hear about the A/C - that stinks.

Hope everybody else is enjoying their summer!! Camp starts next week, thankfully:rotfl:

Hi all. Quick pop in. Open House today. Sure hope these storms do not mess things up. Even though we are not Catholic we even buried a St. Joseph statue in the flower pot on our front porch since my friend suggested it. :laughing:Need all the help we can get. Have a good day in spite of the weather.

Happy 4th of July to all!! :cheer2:Hope everyone has a great holiday, enjoy. Stay cool and dry!!!! :cool1:

I hope everyone had a good July 4th! We had our family bonding only to later find out that my 5 year old has strep! Ahhhh....nothing like family time over a holiday weekend!:lmao:
Hope everyone is well:goodvibes
