Calling all Chicago DISers #3

Hi gang! I'm back! I have actually been back for almost a week but have had mega computer problems at work and am finally back online. Florida was fabulous. We had the heat, too, as KimRaye is. But, I loved it. We left Downtown Disney on Friday at it was 87. We got on the plane and the pilot said it was 42 in Chicago. Um...get me off this plane now!

We found out that ds baseball team is going to play in a tournament at Wide World of Sports next July. Of course it will be hot but we are very excited. Now, the fundraising part begins. I don't like fundraising.

Slo - Sounds like you had a mess while I was gone. Glad you are back in the store.

DG - I haven't gone back to read all the post but I bet you had a great time planning your wedding.

Bunchkin - You new do sounds cute. I got my obligatory cut right before I left of Disney. Nothing exciting for me. Have fun in DL and wish you dd a happy belated birthday.

I have to get caught up on what you all have been up too. Have a great weekend!
Lori

Hey everyone! So, it's Thursday night. The best part of Thursday night is that tomorrow is Friday and what makes this Friday night even more special than any other Friday is its the Taylor Swift concert! =) I've been waiting for like months for the weekend because its back to back concerts of two of my favorite musicians. Tomorrow my friends and I (5 of us in total but sitting in two different groups) are heading to Cheesecake Factory for an early dinner then off to All State for Taylor. So excited! It's making doing homework tonight hard, especially when I haven't started any of it...off to do it and sleep a little tonight. Have a good weekend!

slo I love the House of Blues. Most concerts I go to are there and it's probably my favorite venue in the city, next to the Subterranean which is actually a bar.
Glad everything is going well with your store and that you are back up and running!
Bunchkin Happy belated birthday to Lauren! My friend and I were just talking about how fast time flies, I got my license 23 months ago to this day. It seems like just yesterday to me...:confused3
I just got a huge hair change too...blue highlights. But I have jet black hair so even after bleaching my hair till it was orange/blonde they are still pretty dark and not really noticeable, but they are awesome! Your haircut sounds so cute! Layers and bangs are the way to go!
paintnolish Kids come to school sick all the time at my high school. There was one week where my entire first period was sneezing, coughing, and sniffling. It's so hard to miss even one day of school that everyone comes. For two days straight I was taking DayQuill every 4 hours so I could make it through everything I was doing.
Glad the kids aren't pains! I love it when the waiters we have interact (for lack of better word) with us. The worst ones are the ones who act all pissed that they got the table of 7 teenage girls...

Good morning! I am not looking forward to this weekend. It is going to be so cold.

Sunday is Alex's 15th birthday. I have a baby who is taller than I am. How does this happen.

Alex is going rock climbing with some friends tomorrow. I think I am going to dissect this house while he is gone. I have to get it clean. My basement looks like a bomb went off. How does this happen?

Princess Have fun at the concert.

Tiggggg I was wondering what happened to you.

Crissup I grew up on a very busy street across from a bus stop. I love that noise but heavy wind noise and I am up all night.

I'll be back later this morning is moving faster than I can type today.:rotfl2:

As much as I'm glad it Friday, it's not going to be a relaxing weekend for me:sad2:

This is my day tomorrow....
9am soccer game
Go to work until 11:30pm
Fire Dept Open House 12-4 (I'm auctioning off a print I donated from the store, so technically, I"m working)
Commuity Steak Fry 4-11 or later (working it - Kev and I are on the Centennial Committee)
Come home and :faint:

I'm sure the day will be okay, but the cold will not.
That is the only thing I am not looking forward to.

Here is my quick recap today........

Crissup - Background noise is great - I've always lived by railroad tracks
Bunchkin - I wish I could see your new haircut - I miss you!!!!
ID - Good luck with your busy weekend.
TTTiiiggernnn - Good to see you!!
Momto1 - Welcome home, and how cool about next July!!!!
chell - Have fun at the concert tonight!!!
HERSEY - :bday: to Alex!!! I hope he has a great day Sunday!!!! :cake:

Time to go get Katie up - have a great day!!!

I had an excellent day yesterday. I met with my advisor for my senioer audit (making sure I was where I needed to be class-wise) and found out I only need four more classes- one "light" semester before I student teach! I am also going to take an optional online course over the summer so I have a middle school endorsement, too. I was so happy, though. I've come a long way in the past few years! I was an unhappily married SAHM a few short years ago. Wow...I guess I was feeling a little proud of myself! The end is in sight! I student teach in the fall, then I am done!:cool1:
Slo- No relaxing here, either. Work today, party tonight with families from son's class, then ds and I leave at 7 a.m. tomorrow for our archaelogy weekend-out side all weekend! Won't be home until 5 on Sunday. Fun but not relaxing.
Hersey- DS loves rock wall climbing. He is a tiny little guy but quick and nimble- scurries up it like a spider!
princesschell- I love interacting with my customers-chatting, joking around. It makes my job a lot more fun! Sounds like you are going to have an awesome night! The concert AND Cheesecake Factory!:lovestruc
momto- Hurray! An excuse to go to WDW (not that we need one)!
Tig-:)
ID- School today but off Monday. No relaxing here either. My reply to Slo!
Bunchkin- Yes, new hair pics! Bangs are cute-think they look young on some people, in a good way!
dgal- Well, stick to bland at SA and enjoy the atomosphere. It is so pretty!
Criss- I need noise, too. I brought a mini fan to CSR last trip but Mousekeeping broke it!

Gotta run give ds a spelling test. He wasn't cooperating last night so I said we'do it this a.m.!

Hi gang! My weekend is going to be busy, too. Larry is working tommorrow. I have to take Jon to his baseball game at 3:15. Then we head to baseball party for the coaches and family where Larry will meet up with us. Sunday - Larry is working again. Jon and I might go to a pet adoption event and I need to get to a store to by some new jeans. For some reason, I only have one pair right now. I did take Monday off work to enjoy the Columbus Day with my family.

Paint - good news that there is a ligh at the end of you education tunnel! You are almost done!

Slo - Try to enjoy your weekend. The Community Steak Fry sounds yummy.

Princess.chell - Enjoy your weeekend and the concert!

Hersey - Happy, happy birthday to Alex! I hope Alex has fun rock climbing. Jon went once this summer with the YMCA. I am glad I wasn't around to observe. I was nervous the whole day waiting for the call that he fell off the wall.

Rain, rain, go away!
Lori

Morning all!
Hersey, Happy Birthday to Alex. I pray my children will be taller than me. Maybe then someone can get the dishes from the top shelves of the cabinets.
Slo, have a great weekend at the open house!
Bunchkin, hope you all are having a great time at DL for Lauren's birthday!
Paint,:banana:the end is near (or should we say the beginning!)
KimRaye, don't use up all the heat while you're there. Save some for the next group! Hope you are having a great time.
Chell, hope you enjoyed the Taylor Swift concert and had a great time there!
momto1, trip report please!
ID did you survive the Brownie overnight?!
DG, I am so with you on saving $$$ on invites. They usually end up thrown away after the big day. No point spending there.
Crissup, I prefer the quiet I think. Trains behind the field behind us and no noise break. They seem to love to blast the horn at 3am! I'd like to get ahold of a conductor one day!
Well, better get moving. DD has sore throat and stuffed nose. Sure hope it's not strep!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi All,
I haven't been around for forever. I thought life would calm down a bit once school started, but it seemed to have gotten even busier. I dont get it, but that's how it is!

Time has flown by. I'm in the 4 weeks window now. Actually, 4 weeks from tomorrow (Sunday) will be our first day at WDW, but we would have left yesterday since we're driving. First trime driving-- kind of scared about that, but also excited!

Hope you're all having a good weekend!

Have you seen this thread:

Great information for those that drive.

Hi everyone...I know I'm basically never on this thread (I can't keep up) but keep up by reading what you are all up to. My DD has her learner's permit for driving now. :scared1: So we are working on that. DS-12 is joining the wrestling team at the MS -- so :scared1: for that too (at least for ME). The younger 2 are hanging in there, a few mishaps with school starting but hopefully we are good now in the groove of things.

Good morning! remind me to grab a coat before I go out to get the paper.

Kim I do love the hat. It looks like you and Geffric had fun.

Erika Life never slows down, just make sure you enjoy it. I hope you enjoy your trip.

I am off to have some cake with my coffee and then do some laundry I didn't get to yesterday.

Becky- Thanks for that link. My husband is an avid reader of it already. He's in charge of getting us there which leaves me in charge of no one killing each other.:lmao: Going there I think my task will be easy, but I'm not too sure how it will be coming home.

Hersey- Great sentiment.

Kim- cute hat and great picture! It looks hot but like you are loving every minute of it.

Off to print some Disney coloring pages for the kids.

Hey everyone! Thanks for all the "Have fun"s. I had one of the best weekends of my life. Friday night at Taylor Swift was so much fun! If any of your, or your kids, are Twilight fans you'll love this...Taylor Lautner, aka Jacob my favorite Twilight character (I only watch the movie cant read the books) was there!!! The crowd went insane when they saw him; he literally got attacked as he walked through the crowd. Taylor Swift puts on such a good show, it was amazing. Last night topped it by far though. Meeting my all time favorite band was awesome! My friend and I got them their favorite cereal and a DVD copy of their favorite TV show and they loved it. They were all so nice. The concert was insane. Because we were already inside the venue for the meet and greet we got first row (general admission) for the whole show. It was the best weekend, ever. Just wanted to share that with you guys. =)

HERSEY Hope Alex had a good birthday!
paintnolish Congrats on almost being done! What grades are you teaching?

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Kim I do love the hat. It looks like you and Geffric had fun.
We talked briefly before the parade and then after, I ran across to have our pic taken together. :thumbsup2 It was nice to finally meet. Mac & I played phone tag for several days, never meeting. :guilty:

I live just outside Seattle now, but lived in Prospect Hts. my whole life until I got married. (Stupid Navy. I'm the only Navy wife who WANTS to get stationed at Great Lakes! :lmao:)

I'm so homesick. I miss the Brookfield Zoo, the Art Institute, and the Stadium (our favorite sports bar).

I wanna come HOME!!!!!:sad1:
