Hey Bunchkin! Sorry to hear the construction woke you up. That is never a fun way to start the day. here's a flower to make your day better I'm glad to hear the 7:30 Chef Mickey's is a good time. I'm really excited about it!
Also, we've both been to Sci-Fi before way back in the early 90s. I actually just switched our ressie to 1:35pm. This way it's lunch. 3:45 was just a wierd time b/c we'll be starving until then and then hungry way late before bed. So with a 130 time it's still early enough to have a QS dinner if we want!

Slo ~ Is it at Camp Manitoqua? That is where we had Snowball when I was in high school, love the place.

DG ~ Glad to hear your dad is getting to come home. Do they think this was the cause of the problems he had earlier this year? (or was that the end of last year??)

I got a bit sick from the heat yesterday while I was at the zoo with Kevin. Then this morning I had to drop Nathan off at day camp, and even the 10 minutes I was out there I felt weak. I hate this humidity, never did well with it as a kid either.

ETA ~ As an FYI, I'll be at Brookfield at least one day a week all summer. KEvin is working Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Let me know if you are going to be there, and I'll be sure to take him that day so we can meet up.

Have you eaten at Cafe Orleans? I don't think we've been there yet. And it looks really cute from the pictures I've seen.

Yeah, that's the name! Yeah, I ate there with my parents a few years ago. I liked it. They had the Monte Cristo, which was what I really wanted to get, and if you get a table outside you can see all the people passing by and the river in the background. Sometimes entertainment comes by. So that was fun.

There is construction across the street from me in the next subdivision so I woke up to lots of hammering!!!! Not a pleasant way to greet the morning.

mr mac was out of town and returned last night.
the last few days i cleaned out drawers and cabinets of what i called junk.
how was i to know his hair gel in the bathroom cabinet was that important...

i ended up going thru the garbage can to retrieve his gel......
then back to bed at 5:15....

the humidity was a bit up there yesterday and today too.

our neighborhood flooded during the rains we had.
we did not get water in our house as we are higher up than the others.
our backyard was a pool for ducks though.
our neighbors all got water in their houses.
some lost everything in their living rooms.
it's a real mess for them.





it's 87 here right now.
all i have are fans.


but a great excuse not to do any vacuuming today!!

piglet Humidity and heat wipe me out too! Try to stay really hydrated. Bring water with you when you go out. That should help a little. Most people don't realize they are dehydrated until it's too late.


mac I love POTC! Not Johnny Depp. Love the movies and most of all the ride. I even have the official POTC attraction CD. I could listen to it every day. Love Haunted Mansion too. I have that attraction CD as well.
I love anything to do with pirates.
Maybe some of you remember that I had jedi librarian's ex-BF Toby come to Hunter's b-day party one year dressed in his Jack Sparrow costume. That was a hoot!!!
Sorry to hear that you had to search for hair gel so early in the am!
I don't have that problem with my DH, as he gets what little he has left on top buzzed off!!


Leigh I might also want to try that other place on Main Street. Is it called Carnation Cafe? I hear they have good potato soup. Or at least the pics I saw of it on the DL boards looked good!!

I think I've eaten there. It's on the left side as you're entering, about midway up? I think it was breakfast. I don't think I had an ADR, and I think I got to skip ahead of a few groups in line because I could sit at a smaller table, since it was just me. I don't really remember much about the food, though. I haven't been there in almost two years now, so most of the meals are getting hazy.

I have the next couple days off. When I scheduled them I thought I would be able to do outside stuff. Who knew we would be having this heat. I want to get over to Geneva they are having swedish days. I need my swedish meatball sandwich and funnel cake fix.

This is a super quickie this morning, because I was on Facebook a little longer than expected this morning. A good friend needed advice on where to eat when at WDW, so he can make his ADR's on Sunday morning, so I provided him with alot of information

I read everyone's posts, and I'll try to reply later, if I have time.

piglet - Dewain is in my prayers for a quick recovery. Please keep us posted on how he is doing.

Morning everyone!!
Mac, good to hear from you again!!! You've been missed. Hope whatever your illness is, that you are feeling yourself again really soon.

Bunchkin, loved the notice for your move! I can tell you the one spot we found for a little lunch. It was in Critter Country near Pooh's ride. Just for burgers and such. But there is seating under the tree in the shade. We had such a nice breeze and it was a cool spot to sit. I hope you all have a wonderful time. They have all sorts of new entertainment for summer. The Sun Wheel is now Mickey's Fun Wheel. Check it out on YouTube. It looks pretty neat. They have a new Fireworks show, too. But I have to say, they missed the boat on that one. Remember, Dreams... was much better. By next year, the CA Park will look so different. They have so much under construction there around the water area. And no FP there for Toy Story Mania either. Line is always really long first thing in the morning and a lot of it is out in the sun. (They try to make it better with umbrellas) Wait til later to check that out.

Piglet and DG, hope your sig others are up and about and feeling better real soon. Appendectomies are done so much different now than when I had mine out. I hope he heals really quickly.

Well, I had best run. Girls need to get to Drama Camp. We have Paint the Parking Lot at the library today and then later Pokemon/Yugio and Wii games at the library. DS is in heaven today!!

Good Morning Everyone! woohoo for wednesday! I have 3 more work days then I have ALL of next week off... I'm so looking forward to it!

Mac ~ Glad to hear you didn't get water IN your home. I always enjoy watching the duckys in flood pools though. Just swimmin along like it's an everyday thing!

Bunchy ~ I do love POTC as well. Just watched the first movie the other day!

Piglet ~ Oh my, I hope Dewain is feeling better soon. Did they get it out liproscopically? My dad just came home from the hospital yesterday.

Hersey ~ Dad is doing well. Came home yesterday. Still really tired and sore but doing well over all. he's just happy he's able to have 'real' food again! Enjoy your time off! Next week I have off and b/c our pool is not open still i may be utilizing my sister's when she is not home

Yesterday was Meals and Wheels and then it was so hot that I turned on the A/C about 3 pm.. the whole neighbor went dark.. my neighbor said it was my faultsince I turned on the a/c..we were only out about an hour and then it came back on.. I was gonna make steak on the grill but DH came home and said he wouldn't eat it.. so all had 'dovers and I'll do the steak for DS and me today as DH is going out to a work dinner..


Today I need to finish my SHIP final.. so I guess I should get started..

Slo ~ The cousins from VA called me over the weekend to help me plan their trip in August! I'm going to work on it some today. She's done some work on it already but I am going to make suggestions on their itinerary.

Hi guys! Wow, when I go outside I still feel like I'm in Florida - lol. I think I've decided unpacking from vacation is the most depressing thing. Ugh, I hate packing away all our Disney stuff.

DH left yesterday for a meeting in NJ. Had his share of "fun" at the airport. Dropped him off around 9a for a 10:50a flight. He finally left at around 5:30p! His original flight was cancelled then the flight he was moved to was delayed then had mechanical trouble and they had to get a new plane. He finally got to NJ around 7:30p last night, almost could have driven there in that amount of time! He comes back Friday, hopefully it will be a quicker trip.

mac- glad to "see" you around again, hope you're feeling better. Glad you didn't get water in your house!

piglet - yikes! I hope Dewain is feeling better soon and that you got some rest.

disneygal - glad your dad is feeling better, hope he's back to his normal self soon.

geffric - wow, you lasted until yesterday without the air?! Ours went on just after walking in the door from the airport Saturday. My mom's power was out last night too, there was a fire in a transformer.

Bunchkin - hope you'll tell us all about DL. Have only been there twice, 2001 for DDs 4th birthday and then for one day a couple of years ago. I think once they have more of DCA changed and the DVC is open we'll take the kids out there.

Hi all! Getting on the computer late today, it's almost 11pm here now.


Sorry to hear how muggy it is there gang.
But if it's any consulation, when we left the house at 9:30 this morning it was already 97! And it got up to 101.
It rained for a bit today. And someone said to me that it just rained long enough to make it muggy!!! I laughed soooo hard!! I told them they have NOOOOO idea what humidity is really like!


Well, on a sad note, I took my MIL to the cancer center again today for a follow with the doctor. She also was running a fever and hadn't eaten since yesterday morning, so they put her on an IV. He recommended hospice care for her. He told her weeks ago that she should have hospice care but she refused. But now she agrees and they will be at her house on Friday afternoon to discuss the details. Basically the doctor spoke mostly to me and I agreed it was the right thing to do and then she agreed.
She is too weak to function anymore on her own and her husband is too old himself to help. He's 87. I take her back to the cancer center tomorrow for a follow up. I didn't get a chance to ask the doctor how much time they think she has left. I didn't want to ask in front of her. But he did say, in short, that her abdomen is filled with tumors that are ever growing and there is nothing they can do for her.
It was a really long day there and I had the kids with too. Luckily the center has a kids play area and they are really nice to kids there. They even have this nice little old lady who comes around with a cart filled with drinks and snacks for the patients and families. So it makes it a little easier bringing the kids with.



piglet /Sorry to her your DH needed his appendix removed too. Hope he's feeling better soon! And I hope you got some rest!

Tiggerrnn I have always wondered why DL/DCA doesn't have more FP rides? It makes no sense. I did read here on the DIS that they sometimes let people in early for the Soarin ride and then they will all head over to Toy Story to try to be one of the first on. I wonder if we should do TS first and then hit Soarin, or at least get a FP for it. Hmmm???
Hunter is upset that the corn dog castle joint in DCA is closed while we are there!! That kid tries to plan every thing around hot dogs!!!!



irish dancer That stinks about your DH's flight!!! Did they compensate him at all? Or was, I'm guessing here, giving him a headache and stressing him out compensation enough??
