Calling all Chicago DISers #3

Kim Raye is still pulling the night shift on the Dis.
i always look at the times she posts and smile.....
You smile while I doze off! :surfweb: :rotfl:

if you have to go out today, don't forget the sunscreen.
and wear a hat.

preferably a Cubbies hat.......:teeth:
i do switch from my Cardinals hat to the Cubbie one when i am here...
You BETTER switch to CUBBIE BLUE around here! ;)

hersey - they are playing against the AL. Enough explanation? Which would dictate our eventual outcome IF THEY EVER MAKE THE WORLD SERIES! :sad2::sad1::mad::headache:

Well, even though the heavy rain stopped mid-afternoon, Kelly's game was cancelled because the field was unplayable (flooded) so, even though we were all suited to go (uniforms for Kelly & DH, and just dressed for me  ), we did 4 loads of laundry :laundy: instead, and started packing and putting aside the things we're gonna need to pack. Why do I overpack?! :sad2: :confused3 She has her last reg season game Thurs. And we leave Sat AM.

I need to lookup the carry-on vs checked baggage rules. :confused3 I don't fly very often. :rolleyes1

Stay cool all!! :thumbsup2

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: Dad is doing well! :goodvibes He's home and getting better each day! We watched Smokey and the Bandit last night! Funny movie! Mike now has the flu... he went to the doc and got some meds. hopefully he'll be feeling better soon!:wizard:

Geffric ~ how was your steak?

Piglet ~ how's DH? hope he gets to come home soon!

ID ~ I agree, unpacking from vacation is quite the bummer. Good luck though. Maybe you can just dump everything right into the wash, that way it's quick and easy like pulling a band-aid off. no time to sulk and wish you were back in FL.

Mac ~ you crack me up. Thank you for making me smile!:) However, I can't believe you even own a Cardinals hat in Chicago... :sad2:

Bunchy ~ so sorry to hear about MIL:hug: that must be so hard. you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Hope the unpacking goes quick. When do you leave for Hunter's bday trip again?

Kim ~ sorry Kelly's game was canceled but YAY for packing and getting ready to leave!:cool1:

Good Thursday Morning Chicagoland Homieslllll

bunchie ~
i know this is a tough situation.
have the family in my prayers.

kimraye, well, you all got dressed in the uniforms for the game and it was cancelled.
that's a bummer, sorry it happened.
next time, take a pic of your gang in uniform and share it with us.

and now about those hats..............
i'm a transplanted chicagoan.
when i lived in the city and went to Wrigley Field all the time, i stayed very quiet when the boys were in town.....

beer poured over my head was not a delightful event for me...:rolleyes1
it only took one time to learn that lesson.

i guess when someone lives in the st louis area since birth, they get that Red Bird fever.

what can i say....

disneygal: mike has the flu.....
don't kiss him, stay far away........

good news that Dad is improving. must be the chicken soup....

Bunchy I am so sorry to hear about you MIL not doing well. Hospice is wonderful for the family. They really help. Many  Call me anytime.

Dg Glad your dad is doing better. Stay away from Mike you don't want the flu. This is not something you want to share. Money yes Love yes germ keep them to your self

Bunchie.. sorry to here about MIL but hospice is wonderful and will really help make her time with you and the kids enjoyable..
BTW Hospice is for those with less than 6 months

Hersey - Jelly Belly truck.. really?? where??

disneygal922 glad your Dad is feeling better.. hope Mike recovers fast from the flu.

I was at Meals on Wheels this am, then I need to finish the final for SHIP and mail it..be back..

Geffric It will be at the swedish days in Geneva starting tomorrow. They will be bringing the new flavors Yummo.

Bunchkin ~ So sorry to hear about you MIL. God bless her. It won't be easy but hospice can definately make her quality of life a million times better. :lovestruc I believe that they are angels in disguise. You are very compassionate in your care for your MIL and there is alot to deal with right now so don't forget to take care of yourself too! I am sending good thoughts and smiles to you and and will say a prayer for strength for you!

DG ~ Poor Mike! The flu sux! My girlfriend's son came down with pneumonia (sp?). Summer flus, colds are the worst! Pixie Dust for a speedy recovery! pixiedust:

Kim ~ If you are flying SWA they don't charge anything for baggage. If you are flying UAL if you check in on line there is an $11 for the first bag per person. If you do it at the Kiosk at the airport it's $15! I believe American is $15 at the airport. CRAZY!

I finally finished the itinerary for our VA cousins! I wish I was going on this trip! It's Meg's actual b-day on Saturday! Can't believe how old she is getting! 12 My goodness:scared1: We are going to take her for dinner tomorrow night and then she is going with CB for Saturday and Sunday! I'm going to hopefully do a house cleaning on Saturday and Mike has golf on Sunday which means I get Krick Beach (ie our back yard drive way:laughing:) to myself! Yippee! Strawberry Fest is going on in Long Grove. :thumbsup2 I'm hoping to get to it this weekend!

have a great day!

Tiggerrnn I have always wondered why DL/DCA doesn't have more FP rides? It makes no sense. I did read here on the DIS that they sometimes let people in early for the Soarin ride and then they will all head over to Toy Story to try to be one of the first on. I wonder if we should do TS first and then hit Soarin, or at least get a FP for it. Hmmm???:rolleyes1

I think I read somewhere that TPTB at DL just don't really like FP, and that's why they don't have as many rides with it. I think that was when the Nemo submarine right was opening, without FP.

And I'm sorry about your MIL.

The other day I was doing some disneystore.com shopping, partly becaue of the semi-annual sale, and I finally got the Three Little Pigs big figures! I've had my eye on them for a while (I really like the TLP, for some reason :) ), and they're finally half-off. Yay!

Bunchkin ~ Sorry to hear that the news on your MIL is not good. You are all in my thoughts.

Dewain is still in the hospital. His WBC count is high, so no coming home until it goes down.

That's what happened to my dad. his wbc was really really high. we brought him to the ER early saturday morning (430am) and he was released tuesday afternoon. So hopefully Dewain will be better soon. :wizard:

so totally random, a colleague of mine just came in and told me her friend got the job as the new voice of mickey mouse! he's been flying out to LA every other weekend for auditions and what not and just found out. So now I can say i know someone who is friends with the voice of Mr. M. Mouse himself!!:goodvibes

Thanks es! We are flying UAL this trip and, American to WDW in Oct. Good info to know!

Ideally, I'd like to avoid ANY checked bag but, it's doubtful, even though we'll be staying with sister-in-law, who has washer/dryer. Aren't there still SOME things that MUST BE checked? :confused3

I spend all this time looking up carry-on restrictions/limitations only to see people bringing on MUCH larger carry-ons than are allowed. So much for following rules.

Nicole, hope things are working well with MIL. :goodvibes

Kirsten, hope Dewain comes home soon, all recovered!

good friday morning chicagoland homies.

well, looks like summer is now over for us where i live.
it was nice while it lasted........

DG~OMGoodness! How cool is that?! Talk aobut 6 degrees and stuff! :goodvibes

So how random a day was yesterday? Holy Cow! I have to say that although I am saddened by the deaths of legends Ed M, Farrah, and MJ, I was heart broken to read about the cruel and violent deaths of little Jada Justice and Chastity Turner. What kind of animal burns a baby and shoots another one inthe back while her dad watches?:sad1: I'm sorry adn I don't want to be a downer but they were just babies and my heart breaks for them and their families.

On a happy note, looking foward to a lovely weekend and dinner this eveing at CPK with Meg and Mike for her B-day! Yumm Greek Salad pizza!:woohoo:

Have a great weekend all!:)

DG ~ That is so cool!!

esbrick ~ I heard about those two little girls, and it is so sad.

Dewain is home!! Sleeping on the couch right now, but at least he gets to be here. Now to convince him to take it easy for the next week or so.
