IT IS WAKE UP TIME...........

GET OUT OF BED, SLEEPYHEADS !!!!

and a very good saturday morning to all the chicagoland homies..:goodvibes

Good morning almost afternoon!

I started to get ready to do errands when I thought I couldn't find a receipt. So I started to clean my computer desk and underneath  What a slob I am I had dust elephants. I decided since I was crawling around l would clean under my frig and stove double  . I expect my utility bill to go down now :rolleyes1. Needless I did find the receipt which was clipped on my desk right in front of me. Oh well! Now to finish cleaning up.

Have I mentioned I need to get organized before? Well maybe this year.

I need to get my decorations down now I'll be back later in less I pass out.

Afternoon all.
Hersey, I have no doubt that this will be the year for you to get organized!!:rolleyes1 Sounds good, doesn't it?!
I am waiting til kids are back to school to take down the decorations and tidy up this place. I'll just keep blowing the dust bunnies around til then.
Today I did a little :laundy: and cleaned out DH side of the closet. I knew he would never do that for himself. Hope he doesn't miss anything.:rolleyes1
Sorry for the museum goers. I hate crowded places. Even at WDW I will leave the parks if I feel to packed in. No fun being a sardine!
I thought maybe we could get some ice skating in while the kids were off for break, but the cold weather got the better of me. I just want to hibernate.
piglet, hope your mood has improved and enjoy your second trip downtown. At least it is someplace fun you need to return to and not just Target.:rolleyes1
Bunchkin, hope the baby is doing well.
Guess I will go find something to do. DH wants to go shop for a winter coat. He and DS are off getting haircuts right now. Both were on the shaggy side. I told DS he couldn't go back to school looking like that. Of course, you all know what his answer to that was.
Later.

KimRaye - do you think the PG rating was appropriate for Marley & Me? My DD11 wants to go but the family review website I went to disagreed saying it should be PG13. I'm not worried about the emotional part of it, it's the 'adult' part I'm worried about.
I would agree it probably should be PG-13, but I probably would have taken DD anyway, not knowing the content. Having seen it tho now, I would say a couple 'adult' things made me uncomfortable for her to be seeing. She's 11, too, btw. Hard decision.

nighty night homies

This is day 3 of removing the Christmas decorations.
Yesterday was successful with getting all boxes down from the attic, putting away everything into the boxes, and then getting the boxes back into the attic. Today I need to take down all window and mirror decorations (stickies, gellies, and mini stained glasses), and then vaccuum and dust - then it will finally be done :faint: It's such a long process!!!!

What are you all doing today????

HERSEY - I need to clean my desk too ::yes:: I have a secretary type desk and I don't use it anymore because I do all my bills at work. So I just keep throwing stuff in this desk to get it off my kitchen counter - and I've been doing this for a 1 1/2 years:eek: I have no idea what is in there:eek: This will be a winter project for me on a Sunday. I'm looking forward to it actually, because I know I'll throw a mountain of stuff away, and I'm looking forward to seeing what's in there:laughing:
**Good luck with your New Years Resolution :wizard:

TTTTTiiiiiigernnnnnn - There were so many things that I wanted to do too while the Stephanie was home, and it never happened :sad2: I feel bad about it, but the kids don't seem to mind, because they've been very happy being home:goodvibes

To everyone else - :wave2:

Well, I'm off to finish putting these decorations away so I can chill out the rest of the day. I hope you all have a good Sunday

afternoon..

I am attacking the pile next to the chair.. scout stuff mostly.. but one never knows.. after that I am cleaning the junk cart next to it.. tonight Dh and I have a scout dinner thing.. then monday back to work downtown..

Teen Boys are doing homework they forgot about.. :confused3

DH is resting and reading..

Hope all are having a fun afternoon..

Good Afternoon Everyone! :flower3: Hope everyone had a wonderful and safe New Years! I can't believe my 4 day weekend is almost coming to an end. I just don't know where the time goes lately! :confused3 Well, now that the craziness of the holidays is behind me, I'm hoping to be on the DIS more again! :goodvibes

Have a wonderful evening everyone! :flower3:

went to church today, had your backs covered.

slo, i'm now thinking of clearing out christmas decorations at my house this week.....

i'm tired just reading all that you did in the 3 days.....

Well, yesteradys trip downtown was a success. Now if we could just find a Wii for the boys to buy, it would be nice.

Evening guys! Well, the kiddos are tubbed, scrubbed and tucked in. Backpacks are reassembled and uniforms laid out. Much to their dismay tomorrow is back to reality. It's going to be so quiet around here! :cloud9:

Not much happened around here today. We went to church this morning. DD11 finished up the research for her science fair project. Dinner at the inlaws. Did read something disheartening in our church bulletin. I noticed Friday that the large nativity scene wasn't out, it's usually up until the Epiphany. There was a note in the bulletin that it was vandalized. Someone smashed the baby Jesus and one wiseman and stole Joseph. :sad2: What is wrong with people?!

slo - there was a lot of the museum closed, I was surprised and the exhibits they're putting aren't opening until 2010 so it'll be a long time still.
*you always manage to get so much done!! We haven't started putting away the decorations. I think I'll tackle them this week while the kids are at school, I can get so much more done without "help".

Hersey - I don't know that I'll ever be organized, I'm definitely a "piler" as opposed to a "filer". I blame it on genetics, my mom is a pack rat! :rolleyes1 I wish you the best of luck!

KimRaye - thanks for the feedback on the movie. DD is just so borderline and I'm not ready to cross that bridge yet. ;)

piglet - I'm glad the doll exchange went well.
*Are you looking for a deal on a Wii or just trying to find one? We had them readily available around here before Christmas. DH got ours at Circut City.

:wave2: to everyone else! Hope you're all having a relaxing Sunday.

Well, I'm off to watch Michael Flatley's new dance show. I DVRd it so I could watch it uninterupted (and without commercials). Have a great night everyone and have a Happy Monday! :flower3:

I am so looking forward to the younger two going back to school tomorrow. :cool1: Kevin goes back on Wednesday.

We bought a new sofa/love seat set at Darvin this weekend, and will get it on Tuesday. It is a set we have been looking at for a year now, and finally took the plunge.

ID ~ We are just looking for a system. No one around here has had them all week. Hoping that maybe this week will bring some deliveries of them.

Well, it's back to the ol' grind stone:upsidedow
I really enjoyed this break, and not my break from work, but break from Stephanie going to school. I'm so not looking forward to fighting about homework again, and the mad dash in the morning. Oh well, it's gotta be done:rolleyes:

This morning I'm starting my workout program again - I've been on vacation from that for way to long. As difficult it will be to get motivated after a month off, it'll feel good to get moving again. I sleep so much better when I work out, and I noticed that I'm not sleeping as well, so I"m looking forward to that:thumbsup2

I had a very successful day yesterday:)
Christmas is officially down and gone in this house, and Valentives Day has officially begun:thumbsup2 I wasn't sure if I should put my Valentines Day clings and gellies up already, but I knew if I didn't do it now, than it probably won't get done at all (like last year). I was also able to get mountains of laundry done, and did a decent amount of cleaning - it was a good day!!!!!:thumbsup2

geffric - Stephanie had to do some school stuff this weekend too ::yes:: She had a spelling test the Friday before break, where everyone had a snowday, so she had to restudy those words (she wasn't happy). I hope your kids were able to get everything done.
**Have a nice time at your dinner tonight.

DG - My four day weekend went really fast too ::yes:: I hate it when that happens!!!

Mac - I did get a lot done, but I knew that if I didn't push myself, than it would get dragged out, and I didn't want that to happen:sad2: . I'm looking forward to next weekend being a lot more lax:)

piglet - I"m glad everything went well at the AG Store:)

ID - How terrible about your church's Nativity:mad: When I hear about things like this, it really burns me up:headache: I hope your church is able to replace your Nativity for next year, and they catch whoever did this.
**I understand about doing things without "help" - it is so much easier ::yes::

Well, it's time for me to get ready to workout.
Have a great day today everyone!!

Hi, all! I have been working a lot, but following along with you all. Today dh went back to work, but the kids have one last day off. I am going to use them to help take down decorations! I hate taking them down, because I love Xmas! I have something new to look forward to, though. I am just waiting on dh to tell me what summer session of classes he's taking (will have finished his master's this fall). We are about to book our WDW trip. I am trying for the beginning of June, plus dd's bday is then, too. How awesome to have bfast with the princesses on your bday, right?!? So, watch for my ticker soon! I need something to look forward to during these dreary upcoming months!
An update on my Gma- She is still hanging in there. Tehy moved her to a regular room, but she has no idea what is going on. It won't be long. Everytime my mom calls me, I dread the news.:sad1:
mac- Thursday's lineup looks like just what I need!
slo- Good luck with the resumed work out. I have worked out a handful of times the last month. I try to tell myself that a busy night waitressing is a workout, and it is, but I need to get to the gym. I can feel my belly pooching out! Too many cookies+no gym=tight jeans!
ID- It feels good to get back into the old routine! My kids have today off, and were up late last night (watching Labrynth), and I am going to have to wake them at a decent time soon, so they can get to bed tonight. Ds will get up, but dd, on the other hand, will be a struggle. I will sweeten the deal with pancakes!
dgal- How's the wedding planning going?
KimRaye and ID- DD, 7 (going on 17) wanted to see Marley and Me, too, but she is a huge crier. She cried during Bolt. I already told her what happens at the end, since I read the book. She still wants to see it. I refuse. I bawled during the book!
gef and piglet- Hi!
bunchkin- DD have an American Girl Xmas? DD got a twin (with earrings) and a couple of outfits. She also bought a knock off outfit in TN. People are shocked she has 4 dolls and a baby. Sheesh. Good thing they don't know about all the outfits and furniture!
Anyway, here's hoping dh emails me with that info and I book the CSR trip soon! I am listening to live365, "patiently" awaiting his info! Have a great Monday!

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: back at work and boy are we busy so this has to be quick but I want to get back into the routine of posting everyday! :upsidedow

Paint ~ Glad to hear you will be planning a trip soon. Mike and I need to plan our trip for our planning session but are waiting until we talk more with DFTW. It will probably be in Sept. or Oct. I'm hoping Sept. so we can go for my Bday!!! oh, and your gma is in my thoughts and prayers.

Slo ~ I fell of the gym wagon waaaaay too long ago. i'm still paying for my membership though, so i'm hoping to get back into the routine of going AT LEAST once a week.... maybe Wednesday nights....hmmmm...
Glad you got a lot accomplished yesterday!

Well.... hi ho hi ho, it's back to work I go! :rolleyes1 sorry, i needed to add a little disney to my work day!

Oh, and I have a Disney Days 2009 desk calendar. So... if it is alright with you peeps, I'd like to share the little blurb daily. It's not much but I enjoy it!:goodvibes

Monday January 5, 2009
(pic of Ariel in the tub)
The Little Mermaid, 1989
Ariel is amazed by everything in the human world, including something as watery as a bubble bath.

Afternoon..

District Dinner was fun last night. Our scoutmaster was dressed as Mickey Mouse..;)

Paint - a trip in June is great fun .. domn't forget it is Star Wars weekends in June.

Speaking of Disney.. did you nsee the deal for military - active and retired.. http://www.wdwinfo.com/discounts/discounts-military.htm#tickets DH is gonna go to great lakes and see if he can get tickets.. so I guess we will go this year..;) :woohoo:

piglet too there are lots of WII's here on the north side too.. I want one but just to cheap to pay all that money for it.. We just got Guitar Herom world tour the full band - micro, drums and guitar for $80 at Meier's.. We saw it advertised for $189 at best buy..
back to work..

Hi all!!

Been a few days since I popped in, been a few BUSY days here.

I feel like I'm losing my mind in fact!!!

Our Christmas decorations are down, for the most part. I have containers to take to the basement and one smallish fiber optic tree to put in it's box but that takes just minutes to do.

DH is out of town again, he's in Vegas with his parents. We took him to the airport yesterday. Kids are not happy and are missing him something terrible. :sad1:

slo You did a lot of work this weekend! Aren't you glad though you got all the decorations down at once? :)
Hope Steph passes her test!! :thumbsup2
They 'say' a sun lamp can help with SAD but I've seen NO difference!!!

Tiggerrn My sister has and is taking the baby to see the DR about the jaundice. The follow up appt was Friday.
Sorry you didn't like the movie that well. Tony says the same thing about the Harry Potter movies as he's read all the books. I have not, so I get to see the movies free of the burden of knowing the facts!!!

paint Not a big AG holiday here. DD did get a few AG books she wanted and a couple big AG activity kits they had a Sam's Club a few months back that we snagged for her. But no doll. She just got one this summer at the benefit sale. You should take your DD to that!! :thumbsup2 And we did take DD to the new store for her b-day in Oct, so she got stuff there too, plus the birthday lunch package. DD has 13 dolls now plus the clothes, furniture up the wazoo and doll cases.....her whole room is filled with it!!!!! Whenever DH wants to know where his money is...he just goes into her room!!
Hope you get to book your trip!!

piglet Glad to hear you could return the doll with no problems. They are pretty good about that. :)
I bought our Wii at the Toys R Us in Joliet. The Super Walmart near me in Lockport also has Wii's often, you might want to call there. They get them on week days. Or try Gamestop!

Kim Happy 21st b-day to Matt!!! :cake: I can't believe he's 21!!

disneygal Hope you get to DIS more at work!!!

hersey Go to the Container Store! That place always motivates me to become more organized!!! :yay:

irish dancer Sorry to hear about what happened to your church's nativity scene!!!
I really liked the loaf the next day better!! I had sliced it all up and layed it on a cookie sheet to reheat in the oven and it got cruchy in spots and had a better texture all around. :goodvibes I wish I still had some!!!! :rolleyes1

Time for homework here. :teacher:

:wave2:

Hi gang! I am back to work and to DIS. I had 2 weeks off from work and for some reason I can only read what is going on with all of you at home but not post replys. Drat it! I can't figure out why. I can log in and then when I post a reply and get logged off. Oh well...

I took ds12 to Marley and Me. I bawled at the end. I didn't realize that there was mature content at times and was wondering what ds was thinking. Hmmm...We then saw Bedtime Stories a few days later. He said he liked Bedtime Stories better.

We gave dmil and dfil a meal at Biergarten for the Christmas gift when we go in April. They seemed to really like it. I have never been to Biergarten but my brother gave it rave reviews.

Christmas is almost put away. Just one small tree and a shelf of Santas. I like to keep Christmas up until Epiphany when the Kings arrived which is tomorow. I don't have much Valentines Day stuff - or maybe any - so this might be the year to get some decorations.

Better scoot back to work for a few minutes.
